Overall, Henderson resort is the perfect spot to stay in Destin. All the of the staff was so kind, but I want to give a special shout out to Morgan from the spa for going above and beyond for me! :) :)
The Henderson Beach and Spa Resort is very serene during off peak season. My main attraction to selecting this resort was the separation between adults only and family at the poolside and private beach. I don’t consume alcohol, however the rooftop bar view is phenomenal and a relaxing space for socializing. They do serve sushi and that’s a favorite for me. The heated pools are a gem when visiting in the coolest weather. The fountain features along the poolside is very meditative. I literally swim for an hour every morning without stopping and believe me the water is warm. If you want to get inside the ocean during off peak season, I would highly recommend investing in a wetsuit. The insulated suit kept me warm and I was still able to enjoy time in the ocean. The only recommendation that I would strongly suggest is to maintain the lavatories on the beach more frequently. They don’t compliment your reputation at all. I would advise to have them cleaned/sanitized and restocked every four hours from 8:00 to 20:00 hours, daily. The rooms are comfortable with a pleasant feel. My favorite part of the room is the luxury cast iron soaking tub and the outdoor private living space. I didn’t dine out nor did I use the spa during my stay this time. However I did choose to do in-room dining. You must check and recheck your order because you are in the south and pork/pig/swine is very common here. Pork isn’t always mentioned in the description but you can receive your order and later you will find bits and pieces of it in your bowl; for example their Seafood Chowder. It states Scallops, shrimp, crab, fresh thyme on the menu, but pork was absolutely found in the bowl. Two things I would recommend for the rooms, because I do consider this resort to be upscale, is having “Toto wash-lets”installed and having firm and soft pillows available in the rooms. If you’re interested in a relaxing stay during off peak season, this is truly a five star recommendation. …
Great resort for our business meetings and social gatherings. Our room had a great view of the Gulf. All staff were friendly and polite. Food was all good that we were able to order and eat. I would recommend Henderson Resort
First off, you should know that this hotel is right next to a gorgeous state park and overlooks it from the main lobby patio with nice seating areas. There is a similar view from the rooftop bar area that gives you an even nicer view over the gulf. I recommend that you seek out a great bartender by the name of Rooftop Ron. He really took care of our family the night we visited and represented all this hotel strives for in just a few hours of service. For dinner, I would recommend you check out a fantastic family owned Italian restaurant just down the street called PAZZO. It’s very popular with the locals and tourist alike, so be sure to get a reservation.
Beautiful hotel, room was very nice. The food in the hotel was very good. The best part about the hotel, and what sets great hotels apart, was the service. The staff were friendly and helpful from the moment I arrived until I left. Joshua set the tone at the reception desk when I first walked in. The first evening, the staff at the rooftop bar accommodated us even though we arrived about 10 minutes before they were supposed to close. I look forward to coming back.
Love Henderson and their employees. As a local I’ve been multiple times either at the Spa, roof bar or Primrose restaurant. This year we decided to surprise ours children and made reservations for Christmas with Santa. As always, everything was outstanding. Giana, our hostess was very nice and welcoming. We were seated in Ion’s section and we were impressed with this bright, honest & energetic young man. He knew the menu very well and made great suggestions. He made sure our children had a great experience, he even surprised them with chocolate milk. You could tell he enjoyed being there and he loves his job. Food was super tasty and the staff made sure to replenish the buffet with every occasion. We even took some great family pictures with Santa. Definitely a wonderful experience. We are planning to come back next year. Kudos to such an amazing team!…
The resort is everything we imagined, except that it is dog-friendly and they allow pet owners to allow their pets to sit on lobby furniture. Pets are also allowed to be locked in rooms and bark constantly. Many dogs were there and we saw them throwing up on lobby carpet, dragging their butts on lobby carpets, etc. Our family loves dogs and has dogs, but we did not want to spend our vacation with other people's annoying dogs sitting next to us on the lobby couch. It was disgusting.
We had a nice visit to the rooftop bar. The place had very excellent views and that was awesome. The food and drinks were well prepared and served well. Keesha took good care of us and made the visit even more memorable . The service offered by Keesha was great and therefore I would definetly like to visit again. Thank you !!
Keesha and Ron are truly a delight!!!! The drinks were great, the scenery beautiful and they were so attentive. Try the blue time cocktail or the house sangria. We will definitely be here again for their company!
The service was great and the waiters were very nice Keesha and crystal were so great and even when there were repairs going on and even though they had to close down they treated us so well and we will be coming back soon.
