This is the worst company to rent and trust your vacation with. we are three weeks away from our trip, and received an email yesterday stating our reservation had been canceled. When contacted, they claimed it was the owner who canceled without explanation, and they did not have any properties available for us to switch to. This is unacceptable from a company that is supposed to be one of the best in the world. Upon researching, I have found many have the same experience which is not right! Starting to believe this company may be scamming people.
After 3 days of reaching out to Southern Vacation Rentals before the trip to see if the condo was available and getting no response, we arrived. The only good thing was the view. It is completely falling apart. When we arrive, the remotes were either missing or didn’t have batteries. We could only watch one TV. I had 5 people sharing one bathroom all week bc it was the only one with hot water. They finally came to fix it Thursday after being notified Sunday. By Friday it wasn’t working again. It was tripping the breaker. Well guess what, if a breaker is tripping there is an electrical issue and potential fire hazard. We couldn’t dry our laundry except on the balcony. They fixed the dryer Friday after being notified the previous Saturday. It was a freaking disaster. I will be leaving negative reviews everywhere I can find online. It was completely unacceptable. We paid for a working 3 bedroom, 3 bath unit. That is not what we received! They constantly used the hurricane that hit 80 miles down the road 2 weeks ago as an excuse. The hurricane had nothing to do with the dryer not working or no hot water. You can't hide behind the hurricane for everything. The hurricane did evidently blow away the outdoor table and one of the chairs. That was disappointing as outdoor dining area is something we specifically look for when we book a room. This place is poorly maintained and falling apart. When we arrived there was a leaky window with wet towels still all over the floor. I didn’t even bring that up because I get it was weather related. This other stuff was not. It's negligence and not acceptable. The dish washer was not strapped to the counter top and fell forward every time we tried to wash dishes. One of the sink stoppers in the master didn’t work at all. The lever just pulled out completely if you tried to use it. Kitchen was poorly furnished with kitchen tools and supplies. Decorations were broken. Benches for the dining table were both broken. Pillow cases had stains. The glass sliding door could barely be opened by a grown man and by no one else. If you tried to use the microwave in the guest suite, it made the whole unit smell like fire. Honestly, I am just so over it and can’t possible explain what a poorly maintained unit this was and what a poorly operate company Southern Vacations Rentals is. We should be refunded partially for the condition of the unit but fully for the fact that this company has been so unresponsive. …
Great rental, centrally located, and a very nice pool area. Loved it! Significantly better than the first place we stayed in during this trip - Sundestin. Avoid that one. Destin overall, light on the quality restaurants & long wait times. Forget about breakfast anywhere;-) Under served for the volume of people.
We stayed in unit 1018 and Everything about the condo was great...especially its location. Our view of the golf was spectacular to wake up to every morning. We were also able to see the beautiful pool as it changed color at night. Easy access to Sterling Shores private beach was an added bonus along with having a restaurant in our back yard. The condo provided everything we needed and was cleaned spotless. I was planning my next stay before we even checked out. Sterling Shores is within walking distance of many restaurants and attractions...I definitely recommend 1018 for adult get aways.
We stayed there this past week. Our room was great...It could have been cleaned a little bit better, but I cleaned it when we arrived. Great location. The pool is great (I think security needs to spend more time around the pool enforcing the policies at the pool) There was a couple of nights we walked out of the pool because kids were unaccompanied and extremely rough in the pool The ceiling fan broke before we arrived (which we knew they called us and informed us). I did not see anyone ever cleaning the bathrooms by the two pools. They were very dirty. The gentleman at the front desk was extremely rude as well as the lady who works for vacasa.
