Detailed Reviews
Eddington House Inn is an absolutely charming bed and breakfast establishment. The house has rooms dating from several centuries and it is filled with antique furniture and objets d'art, as well as paintings created by the host. My visit to Vermont was in the middle to late October so I caught the last of the magnificent autumn display as the leaves turned.
My room was in the older part of the house and had a separate private bathroom, albeit on the other side of the landing. It was equipped with a clawfoot bath and a modern shower so I had the benefit of appealing decor with convenient facilities.
Breakfast every morning was served by Mark, who owns and runs the house with his wife. It was very pleasant to chat with other visitors in the breakfast room, while enjoying an excellent range of fresh fruits, eggs and other cooked meals and a selection of pastries. It was very tempting to sample them all at one go.
I stayed for ten days and had stimulating conversations with Mark every morning.
My son recently moved to Vermont so I will definitely be visiting again.

We had six family members who stayed for 5 nights and it felt like home at Eddington House. Our host Mark prepared a delicious breakfast for all of us each morning featuring fresh fruit, omlets, blueberry pancakes, etc. This is an old home dating back to the 1700s so be prepared for antique and cozy, not slick and shiny. We had 2 suites which had lots of room with full baths and sitting areas beside the bedrooms. Within short walking distance are a couple of good restaurants and a coffee shop. Nice walking trails also close by. Very pretty area just outside Bennington College campus. The larger town of Bennington is just 3 miles away with all the things one might need.

This B&B was charming. The host greeted us with warm hospitality when we arrived and showed us around the rooms and the house. We had all the amenities one would expect to find in a large hotel and we enjoyed breakfast each morning cooked by our host. We will definitely stay here again when we are next in Bennington.

Reservation was made through Expedia. The day before check-in I asked Expedia to cancel and refund but Mark, at Eddington House, said it was not cancellable/refundable so I told Expedia I would just keep the reservation but, when I called to check-in the next day, Mark told me the room had already been rented to someone else. He had cancelled my reservation, kept my $241 and rented my room to someone else without telling Expedia or me. I then called Mark at Eddington House to see if I could reason with him but he acted like such a child, saying “sue me if you want a refund”, then he hung up on me and stopped accepting calls from me and from Expedia. I know this seems unbelievable so here is the Expedia case number (S#130069744) in case you want to verify my/Expedia’s side of this story.

Our room was spacious and clean. Breakfast was great. But the inn is on the tired end of quaint. Also, the innkeepers don't answer the inn's phone. They never returned repeated messages asking for confirmation of our reservation and the possibility of changing dates. They also didn't respond to emails left through their website. A curious way of doing business for folks in the hospitality business.

This wonderful inn is in a fantastic location. I wish I could give it 10 stars!!! It certainly deserves it! We thoroughly enjoyed our stay and will definitely return. This bed and breakfast gets everything right! Each room with its antiques and original paintings is unique. Our suite was spacious and very comfortable.
Mark, our host, was just delightful. He cooked us a delicious breakfast. When we went to get in our car to leave, my husband discovered a flat tire. Since my husband has a bad back, Mark changed the tire. He did in record time, too.
My husband and I travel a lot so we have stayed in many places. This inn is definitely one of the best we have ever stayed in. You just can't beat it! It is a winner!

We were excited for our stay at the Eddington House Inn, however, 10 days prior to our travels my husband tested positive for Covid. Knowing the very strict cancellation policy, I immediately called and and left a voicemail cancelling our reservation. I did not receive a call back, and so I called the following day again and had to leave another voicemail. We still did not hear back and when I checked my credit card statement they had charged us for our two night stay in FULL after we had called and cancelled the day prior, which was TEN days out from our trip (clearly within their cancellation policy). I then wrote a detailed email to the owner explaining what happened and still received. I find this a discourteous way to handle business communication and dishonest business policy. We hope to be able to dispute the charge with our credit card company. We clearly followed the cancellation rules and did everything in our power to not have this happen.

My husband and I had a delightful visit at the Eddington House Inn. Our room was comfortable, even though our bathroom was across the hall. This is something that should not discourage anyone from taking this room, as the bathroom was designated specifically for our use and was a very nice room. Our innkeeper, Mark, greeted us warmly upon our arrival and cooked an outstanding breakfast for us the next morning. The Inn has a comfortable ambiance, which leant itself to nice conversation with other travelers, and with Mark over breakfast. We highly recommend the Eddington House Inn and hope to stay here again another time.

This B&B was a clean, comfortable place with restaurants within walking distance. We had "Suzie's Room", queen bed with it's own bath across the hall. The bath room with tub and shower was nice but unfortunately across the hall from the bedroom which made it a little inconvenient but they did have robes to use in the closet. Be warned that there are no TV's in the entire place! The breakfast the next morning was delicious.

Didn’t really feel like a B & B. It was more like staying at someone’s house you didn’t know. Mark was very nice, his breakfast was very nice. Our room was nice, with it’s own bathroom. The towels & linens were superb. As for the main room to sit outside of always being in your room- worn, too many extension cords for my liking, and there is a difference between collecting antiques & clutter.
