We checked in on the Saturday before Independence Day and I'd made reservations for dinner that night, having specified we wanted indoor seating, given the muggy July heat and recent rains. I reiterated that to the front desk clerk when we checked in. First thing we noticed in our beautiful Tamarind Room, was there were several light bulbs that were out, which kept us from noticing the floor weren't swept very clean. The staffer who took us to the room told me housekeeping was gone for the day, but she'd tell someone to replace them, especially one over the bathroom sink which made it shadowy, and one in the closet, so we could see the safe touch pad. No one ever came to take care of that in the 2 nights we spent there. Sunday morning, we slept in, having been to 2 clubs late the night before. There's no "do not disturb" sign to hang on the doorknob, so there was no way for them to know we were just getting up. I heard the door beep and in walked a housekeeping lady! She backed out and said she'd come back later. I told her she really should knock before just coming in. We left the room a while later, and I noticed the housekeeping cart was below our floor. close to our room. Just to make sure, I reminded the staffer who'd taken us to our room the previous day, that they could make up the room now. We got back from dinner at 9:30 and no one had come in to do anything. They'd left a green laundry duffel with fresh towels, before the lady had barged in. We ended up checking out Monday morning, having to use the fresh towels they'd left on the folding luggage rack, since the towels take very long to dry out in the room, even with the AC running. On the positive side, this is a beautiful property, the rooms, gardens, walkway, fountains, pools with Coi, etc. It has several sizes of gazebos and most have overhead fans. The ideal time to visit is not in the dead of FL summer, cooler weather will make for a much more enjoyable outdoor experience. The 4-poster king bed was very comfy. The bathroom was spacious, it could have used a small shelf to put toiletries near the small pedestal sink. There was good water pressure and reasonably hot water, the shower diverter was a bit funky to operate, but it worked. My impression of Sundy House, based on our experience, is that their big money maker and priority is the dining, lodging not getting too much attention. They have plenty of free parking and the location is prime for getting to all the places and activities on nearby Atlantic Ave. I'll post a separate review of their Taru restaurant later.

5 stars every time. Always delicious food. Always amazing service. Always beautiful grounds. Always amazing rooms. Have had Sunday brunch, dinners, and stayed in the cottage and the 2 bedroom suites. Never gets old. The Sunday brunch is the best in Palm Beach County.

Went for what we hoped was a nice Sunday brunch. Very disappointed. Asked for a specific table in a room. Was told by hostess there were no tables n there. Decided to walk in and check it out. There WERE available tables. Food looked dried out. When complained, supervisor didn't even apologize. No masks worn by anyone. Gloves were available for handling utensils. Perhaps 50% used them. No supervision. Observed people eating off their plates while walking along buffet line, licking their fingers and then touching utensils. DISGUSTING! Wont be back.

I have never been spoken to so rudely by a manager in my life. We arrived early to Delray Beach early and called to inquire about check in time we were told it would not be until 4 pm so we decided to walk around Delray which was lovely. We arrived at Sundy House at exactly 4 pm and was told at the front desk our room would not be available until 5-530 pm. Although we were disappointed we complied and walked around the grounds and it was completely trashed from a earlier wedding. No big deal so we decided to sit at the bar and make some phone calls but the bartenders told us we could not get a drink because they needed to flip the bar into dinner service. My fiancé decided to make the phone calls and I went to seek a manager since no one had spoken to us other than 2 very nice hostesses. He arrived after about 15 minutes after I requested and immediately told me that he would get me a drink at the bar. I asked him some questions about why our room wasn’t ready and then he began to berate me about how the 300 dollars I spent in the room was pennies and I should just leave and get a refund. He was talking so loudly that my fiancé heard him while she was in the bathroom. It was terrible and all the staff was very apologetic about his behavior and told me as I was leaving that he was like that. In my observations the employees ALL looked unhappy and not wanting to be there. I do not recommend this place to anyone until this terrible man is removed from the premise. I understand if you have had a bad day or a very difficult one but always be kind to the guest no matter how disappointed they may be. We did not make the mistakes that led to our very late check in and we were disappointed as anyone would be and you especially do not leave the receptionist to inform the guests of the managements shortcomings. The owners should be very disappointed with this review. Btw. The General Manager did call me back after I left her a message and she was very kind. He needs to be fired ASAP!

It felt to me that Sundy House is more focused on their restaurant than their hotel - I don’t know if that’s a pandemic thing? There was no one at reception when we arrived (after waiting for a long time and trying to call with no success I actually had to go on a little wandering adventure to find someone- who didn’t apologize nor was particularly welcoming, it felt more like we were a mild annoyance- to check us in.) There was also no one there when we checked out. I think we might have been the only guests there that night? It was definitely nice to sit on the balcony and look at the beautiful gardens in the morning/ and that was the best part of our stay. The accommodation was spacious, not very clean, but convenient- the washer dryer allowed us to do laundry in the middle of our roadtrip. We did have a really good dinner at the restaurant in the evening- with a socially distanced table and really nice staff. I do really think they are putting all their efforts into the restaurant and the hotel is more of a side project or an afterthought that they’re not investing much energy or effort in. But again- we had such a nice time sitting on the balcony over the luscious garden in the morning- with the grounds completely empty- that we still ended up having a nice time.
