We made reservations about a week ago. Coincidentally for Halloween weekend. Unfortunately, they double sold “VIP” seating on the rooftop bar to non hotel guests. There was nowhere in the hotel for us to have a drink. We were told we had to give up open and unmarked outdoor seating. So far those seats are still empty. Manager didn’t give a crap. We won’t be here tomorrow night as arranged.

This is a beautifully renovated hotel honoring it's historic past...over 70 years ago, NASCAR was born here. Before the renovation, it was so run down that it was the hotel featured on the 2014 season premiere of "Hotel Impossible". In it's heyday, it was the haunt of celebrities, race car drivers, and moonshine gangsters. On to NASCAR...on Dec. 14, 1947 in the rooftop Ebony Club, Bill France Sr. brought together racing drivers, officials, and track promoters in order to discuss and hammer out issues related to racing. As a result, on Feb. 21, 1948, NASCAR was born. FREE PARKING: Next to the hotel...it says only for for guests, and you are a guest. FEE: We stopped at the front desk and they said it was free and shared where we should go to drink in the history. There aren't many artifacts...just a few pictures and the ambiance. You will have to use your imagination to fill in the gaps, but that is kind of fun. TIME: We spent about 1/2 hour. Enjoy!

We went here with a group of friends after one of them heard they had $3 burgers one night a week in the restaurant located in this hotel. It was pretty easy to order. The waitress gives you a printed sheet with all the options for your burger and sides and you just check off what you want & how you want your burger cooked. They were pretty good too and an excellent value.

We visited this hotel because it is known as the birthplace of NASCAR! This is one of the neatest cleanest coolest hotels We have ever been in! We are NASCAR fans but you do not have to be to love this place. The bar and restaurant in the lobby is beautiful. The rooftop bar is amazing. The DJ’s know how to work the crowds. ALL EMPLOYEES make you feel at home and comfortable there. Our room was cozy and comfortable. The bed was so comfortable and we slept wonderfully. It is a block from the beach. The food is very good. Sadly it was to cool for the pool. Pictures don’t do it justice. But I will share them with you. We can’t wait to go back. Stop by and check it out! Say hello to all the helpful employees Stephanie, Rachel, Angela,!Tiffany a/k/a TT, Tanner, Tucker , Marlene and Stephen the DJ!

Checking in was a breeze as I arrived just after 4pm. Marlene at the front desk not only got me checked in quickly, but very kindly found me a different, more satisfactory room, and fluently got me through the check-in process... Kudos to Manager Jackie! Cherrill, also fluent and friendly in the check-in process & another gem at the front desk, went out of her way to be accommodating with restaurant recommendations and just those few extra touches that are the reason I book with a boutique property over a large chain. I didn't have any housekeeping services during my stay, but the staff (blonde lady) was very friendly. The bathroom products are by Pevonia... an upscale brand used by many estheticians & smells yummy... is apparently also owned by the same family that owns this hotel.
