With its recent renovations earning approval for cleanliness, the Hilton Daytona Beach Oceanfront Resort is lauded for its prime location and variety of amenities, including diverse food options and direct beach access. However, some guests have called out the need for more meticulous maintenance.
The atmosphere is described as vibrant, thanks to the music and events, but there's a consensus that the rooms could benefit from modernization. While the staff's service receives commendations for their attentiveness, the value of the stay is somewhat marred by high fees for parking and resort services.

My family and I just wrapped up a wonderful 2 day stay at this property on a cold, late December weekend. I used Honors points to book a deluxe city view room. This is a great room - the rooms are cheaper than an oceanview room that is half the size, and they're situated at the far end of the hallway where there is less foot traffic. Cleanliness was decent when one considers that this is 1. an older beachfront hotel, and 2. not a Waldorf Astoria. As mentioned, it was cold, so we couldn't laze on the beach, but we did take advantage of the free beach bike included in our resort fee. We had a blast! Doc Bales looked a little pricey for breakfast, so the first morning we schlepped a block north to the iconic Starlite Diner (great food). The second day we got breakfast sandwiches at the Atlantic Marketplace Deli. I ate decent chicken tinga tacos for lunch at Don Ricos, and Yuri fixed me a fine mojito in the vibe-y McCoys Rum Room in the evening. Service was Disney-level (excellent) in every interaction we had with the staff. This is probably the best resort hotel in Daytona Beach, and I would return in a heartbeat! That said, there were a few minor issues. I was almost charged $30/night for self-parking that I did not use, and would've missed it if I didn't proactively check my room bill on the last day. (Pro-tip: There's free streetside parking about 4 blocks north of the hotel along North Grandview Ave!) I also think that the 5th floor pool deck in the North Tower could use a little TLC. Missing light fixtures paint a drab appearance, and it looks like there used to be a kids club inside, adjacent to it. It would be nice to see the property invest some $$ into that area. These are about the only problems I encountered. As a Diamond member that doesn't live too far away, I'll likely come back here soon when the weather is a tad warmer!

The salmon BLT at Don Rico’s was fantastic. I was able to sub for gluten free bread and the chips are delicious.
I had a little delay when I arrived and was waiting to get a server. I asked a different server, Felicia and she jumped right in to take care of me with kindness and efficiency. I am very grateful for her smile and care. It’s a big hotel with lots of guests who are typically overheated from the sun, and this restaurant provides a great respite with tasty food and efficiency. Thanks!

This is one of the best hotels in Daytona by far. In fact the only two places that I will stay at the Hilton or at the Shores hotel. One of the things that makes the Hilton so nice is that they have recently renovated the property and it has a clean and beachy feel as you walk in. Gabriel at the front desk gave me an ocean view upgrade and was friendly. One of the best things about the hotel is the location. It is located right next to the boardwalk so you can walk over and play video games and do a little shopping as well and go to the movie or go get ice cream. There are also several different vendors as well as a movie theater. Joe’s Crab Shack as well as Bubba Gumps are both walking distance in addition to marble ice cream company. The hotel also has a Starbucks inside as well as a nice steakhouse called Hyde Park which is fancy and serves premium steaks, chops and cocktails. There is also another restaurant on site that serves breakfast lunch and dinner. It’s nice that once you park your car you don’t have to take it out until you’re ready to leave the hotel. The bellman staff here is also extremely friendly.

I felt like I was sinking into a crevasse when I laid on the bed and had to put couch pillows underneath the mattress. My back hurt every morning from the bed. The breakfast was cold and greasy. The elevators were scary and made a lot of noise like they would break at any minute. Another guest told us that he had come to the Hilton every year and that staff kept telling him they were going to fix elevators but they hadnt yet. The vallet staff were not very welcoming upon arrival. They wouldn't let my uber driver pull up and they wouldn't let me take the luggage cart myself to unload my luggage. So I had to wait for about 10 minutes until valet decided we could pull up even though there was plenty of room for another vehicle to pull up. I prepaid $1566.14 to stay for 3 nights and when we check in they held another $127 of my money and when I made reservation they did not let me know there would be an additional hold of funds. The hot tub was closed down so we could not utilize that to relieve our back pain for our backs from the bed. The only thing nice was our room had an ocean view and we could walk out of hotel onto the beach. Also front desk staff was help when I dropped my phone and housekeeping located it to give it back to me.

We booked here because we had an event at the convention center. It’s right across the street - a super easy walk. It’s also close to the beach if that’s why you’re there. Location is really the only plus in my opinion. It’s a huge building. Was quite the trek from the lobby to the north tower where our room was. As far as the rooms, they were fine for overnight. Had a musty smell but I always travel with a travel scentsy for that. Only a small fridge (no microwave). Not even as comfortable of a bed as a value hotel we had stayed at the night before. Breakfast not included. Parking is a $30 charge for a lot that’s a ways away so we felt slightly pressured to do valet for $40. The valet was good though as they let us store our luggage for a couple hours and re-parked for no additional charge over the nightly charge. They also have bellhop only luggage carts which I didn’t like because you have to tip them as well which adds up. We didn’t plan well enough to not have a luggage cart so we had to do it. Even though the room cost isn’t horrible the charges add up and it’s not really all that great of a value. The quality inn we stayed at the night before was way better. I don’t think I’d stay here again.

My husband and I visited Daytona Beach for the first time for our Anniversary and chose the Hilton Daytona Beach Oceanfront Resort due to the location and pricing. Our stay was from August 30th - Sept 3rd. We originally booked the King Oceanfront w/ balcony to include Sofa. After checking in, we noticed our room did not include the Sofa and the balcony was not an actual balcony. It was more like an Juliet style balcony. But it was ok. I called Guest service to advise we did not get the room as reserved with the sofa. Guest services advised they were full and did not have any rooms available to switch us into. That was a bummer because we love getting the sofa for additional seating besides sitting on the bed. We stayed in the North Tower and the first night, all the elevators were operating. However, the last days there only one elevator out of three were operating to its full capacity which caused long lines and long delays waiting on the elevator. The jacuzzi did not work on the North tower as well. The hotel lobby and common areas were ok; however, the rooms needed to be upgraded/renovated to modern type style. They were also having problems with WIFI connecting and we kept losing signal, not being able to watch TV when we tried to. The rooms are old with old furniture that also needs replacing. The only pro I can think of is the hotel foods, they were great! Especially the breakfast and dinner buffets at Doc's Grill. We know not to stay there for future trips in Daytona.

Check in was fine, but was told they had no rooms with a king bed available for the (3) nights we were there, so we had to take a room with 2 queen beds. Just an FYI, the hotel is practically empty. Room is VERY dated and worn. Very few amenities in the room, I.e. lotion, shampoo etc. As a diamond member we usually have 2 bottles of water waiting in our room each day. Was given 2 bottles at check in and went to the front desk the next day and asked for 2 more bottles and was told they were going to have to charge me. Got back to our room at the end of the day to find housekeeping was not done. Called them and were told we would have to request it upon checkin. I have never been to a Hilton property where they didn’t have at least a sign in the room saying if you wanted fresh towels etc to request that but NEVER have I ever had zero signage or been told I had to request my room to be cleaned and beds to be made never mind clean linens. The elevators sound like they are going to breakdown. Loud and honestly very scary to ride in. If we weren’t on the 14th floor I would take the stairs. The hotel is in need of a complete overhaul including the entire Daytona Beach area.

Upon arrival we were notified that Valet parking would be $40, but unlike some of the hotels we've stayed at in the past,we were assured no one would pee in our trunk. Our valets Joel and Magar Koby did not disappoint, our car was well taken care of by these guys! Check in here was seamless, and we had a nice step out room for ocean front view. On our first morning we had breakfast at The Starbucks outside on the first floor by the shops. Mark ,and Bee did a great job of making sure we chose the perfect drink and food options to start our day just right. They really made sure each morning coffee we had was Amazing! Next we were headed to the beach side pool!It was at the pool where we met Leah and Kaleah;you would never have known it was their first day...These lovely ladies made sure we had drinks in our hands right when we needed them , and we didn't even dare leave the pool! Unfortunately the first evening of our stay the water in our tower had to be shut off for a portion of the night, so we made our way to the lobby for a few restroom trips. It was on one of the bathroom treks that we met Stacy, our Vacation Hero. Stacy made sure that our Anniversary trip went off without a hitch. Stacy gave us pointers on all sorts of things to do on and off property, and was a delight to talk with. We looked forward to seeing Stacy each evening of our stay, she most definitely went above and beyond to ensure to provide that Wow factor. Overall this stay was one of our all time most refreshing vacations, and we look forward to returning as soon as possible!

First of all nowhere on the resort website mentions anything about a $75 PER NIGHT deposit. So that was a $225 charge for our 3 night stay we were not expecting.
Second, I noticed a $84.39 charge the day after checkout and when I called on Sunday I got a “the account department is not in” so I guess I’ll have to call and fight for that later.
Third, the rooms. They are horribly outdated and look like they haven’t been touched since 2003…..20 years ago. The hallways are not in the greatest as the wallpaper on the top of the windowsill on the 5th floor was peeling and there was drywall on the ground all 3 days we were there. The elevators in the south towers either don’t show the floor number or are off so you think you’re in the right floor until you get off and noticed that you’re not and by that time the door shut behind you and you have to wait for the elevator again.
Beyond these things the resort was pretty nice. The pool and hot tub were nice when it wasn’t filled with screaming children and teens running around and doing cannonballs from atop the fountain into the 3 foot section. Parents nowhere to be found.
It seems they stuck all their money into the lobby and the restaurants. Breakfast buffet? Sure for $25. Might as well go across the street to Dunkin were any of the other countless restaurants within walking distance.
The beach access was nice, but the fact that the shower and Footwash we’re on the complete opposite side of the restore than the pool and hot tub kind of defeats, the purpose of washing yourself off before you go from the ocean to the pool.
The only thing this place has going, for it is the fact that it’s literally right next to the boardwalk and the pier.
Stay away, find a better resort further down either side of the beach were you don’t have to wait 15 mins for the elevator or get pushed out of the way by hotel staff when they are tending to other guests, bringing them water bottles.
We will NOT be back to Hilton Daytona Beach Oceanfront Resort.

We are truly sorry for the negative experience you had. Transparency in charges is crucial, and we will look into the discrepancies you mentioned. While we are pleased the beach access and location were satisfactory, we understand we missed the mark in other areas. We would greatly value a chance to better serve you in the future.

Just stayed at this hotel for a music event (Nov 2022). The event was great...the hotel was not. This neglected property is definitely showing signs for age both in the public spaces and in the rooms. Safety is also a primary concern as there are a large number of vagrants roaming the property with very little security. Our "Suite" was anything but. A shabby cave of a room with old, stained furniture from the seventies, broken light fixtures, nonfunctional ceiling fans, and decor that would be more comfortable residing in a motel 6 than a Hilton property. When we attempted to check in at 4PM we were informed that the room was not yet ready and waited more than an hour and a half before we were finally allowed to check in. At check-in, we were informed that rooms would not be cleaned daily for the entirety of our 5 night stay unless we specifically requested it (we put our request in for daily cleaning and had to call every day to have it performed). The Cabana Suite that we paid a premium for was awful. Old scratched up furniture, a saggy couch with stained cushions, a table and chairs with stained seats and a broken leg, a refrigerator in a cheap pressboard stand that was swollen and stained from water damage, two non-functional ceiling fans, light fixtures in the bathroom missing shades, loose handles on the shower doors, and cheap artwork on the walls that looked it was from a garage sale. The door to the room was so hard to close that it required two of us to get it to latch closed or push open. The closet door had also been taken off at some point and never replaced.
The pool was also in extremely poor repair and dirty (wrappers, leaves, and other debris floating on the surface). The lounge chairs by the pool and the patio outside the room were old and rusty and looked like they had been there since the 70s. The grounds in back of the hotel were also "skeezy" with numerous vagrants roaming around, and litter on the walkways and grounds. While there is ocean behind the hotel, the beach is not usable. Many of the stairs leading down to the beach are damaged and roped off. The ocean comes all the way to the break wall at high tide, and there are no chairs or umbrellas available on the beach to use.
The neighborhood that this hotel sits on is very sketchy and does not feel safe at night. Even the few nearby restaurants are run down and uninviting.
When we called the front desk to see if we could shorten our stay by one night, the manager told us that no refund would be possible since the five nights were purchased together. Management also made no attempt to accommodate us in any way or to offer anything to offset our poor experience. When we checked out, we discussed the above with the desk clerk who concurred that the place was a dump, and that Hilton management did not seem to care how this was negatively affecting the Hilton brand.
Our recommendation is to avoid this hotel if at all possible. We will not be staying at a Hilton property again.
