I am an elite member in the IHG, but thanks to a recent upgrade to Hilton Gold to due to my Platinum Amex, I thought- hey free breakfast- why not?? Ooops- not only did the breakfast cost far more than the $12pp that was offered, but I am also hoping that this property is not representative of the Hilton brand, which, I will probably give one more try and see what happens before I decide to give it up. We booked a double-bed suite in the north tower. I feel like this room was a "suite" in name only. The room (and whole hotel) is dated and in desperate need of not as much a refresh as a gut and restart. If you kind of squint it isn't terrible, but if you take anything close to a second look the cracks show everywhere, from the literally cracked marble (with huge missing chunks) in the lobby to a piece of molding that fell off the wall in the hall across from our room and lay there for the entire two and a half days we were there. I know it is Covid, and like everywhere, they are probably short-staffed, but these problems clearly pre-date this crisis. The "suite" consisted of a standard hotel room with a sort of living area attached to the back of it. There was still only one restroom and for a family of four (at a beach property no less) we were given 3 towels (two of which couldn't even fit around my body they were so small and I am 5'4'', size 8 woman), and six hangers. We were in town for a family reunion and doing several nice dinners as well as family pictures, so multiple changes of clothes and showers were needed and this was unacceptable. I tried calling the front desk, but no answer.... I will say this is probably more representative (at least I hope so) of its location in Daytona. This is not a luxury destination, and the hotel appeared very full, so I am guessing they see these things as not an issue. But, there is no doubt that the more than $700 I paid for two nights (chapter than 2 rooms, which we now need because our boys are teens and a room for 4 no longer works when they both need their own bed), was NOT worth it! I'm not thinking I will ever go back to Daytona, but if I do, there would be NO WAY I would stay here again!

Room Tip: Obviously beach view, the north tower seemed marginally better than the south.

We have absolutely not a single negative thing to say about our visit. Everything was exceptional. From check-in to check-out, everything was just great. We got in late on Friday night. Valet parked our car right away. We had a 6th floor room with a wonderful view overlooking the pool, pier, and the ocean. The room was very clean and comfortable. Beds and pillows were great, a/c worked perfect. Shower pressure and temperature was awesome. South Tower pool was large and clean, hot tub was also large and clean. Plenty of towels and chairs available. Poolside bar was great with friendly and attentive staff. We ordered some wings and tenders that were tasty and reasonably priced. I had to buy some sunglasses at the gift shop after losing mine the 1st time a rogue wave came by and they were also surprisingly reasonable. All of the staff we encountered were pleasant and helpful. Checkout looked like it would be a nightmare with so many of us leaving at once but the staff was well organized and checkout and valet pickup went quickly and smoothly. This is probably the best stay we've ever had in Daytona and we will definitely be returning.

During our stay at the Hilton we ate at their onsite restaurant, Don Rico’s Sports Bar & Grill, to celebrate my husband’s birthday, and we were super impressed. The staff was so attentive and nice and the food was awesome. The chef, Brandon, even went out of his way to bring my husband’s food out and introduce himself since we were celebrating a birthday. My husband was blown away by the flavor of his steak and meal to say the least. Everything was cooked to perfection. Every single person in our party loved the food. The drinks were also great. Our waitress, Juliana, was so fun and friendly. We never had to wait and she was on top of everything before we even had to ask. The conversations with her made the evening fun and made us feel at home. The staff seems to work great together and willing to help each other regardless of whose table it is. We will definitely be visiting again!!

Cody Romain at the front desk was super helpful, letting us know what was available for our second mini stay cation in 6 weeks! The music in the lounge on Saturday nights was epic and the bartender Sarah was excellent. Enjoyed the restaurants, the pool. Had a blast. We will be back!
