Detailed Reviews
Stayed as a RV camper (full hook up) for a week during the low season (May) and had a really good stay using the Passport of America membership discount. The small golf course ($6 unlimited walking during low season), pool/hot tub, WIFI, fitness room (somewhat outdated equip) was made available and a nice perk, plenty of room to bike safely, walk, run. Very quiet and serene area. The only drawback is the area is in a rural part of FL where you have to drive 15-20 minutes to get to the grocery and other stores.

Even though they only have two showers, I have never had to wait for one. They have free cable tv and loads of entertainment (twice a week, occasionally three times and a jam session maybe once a week. There is a small store and deli up the road about 4 or 5 miles. Plenty of things to do in the area (biking, kayaking, shopping, events and sightseeing.

Swimming, tennis, golf, entertainment, and many extra's to keep a person active. All volunteer park and reasonably priced. The main negative is it seems to be an "old" mentality here. Things are slow to change and the long timer's stick together even when they may be the source of many issues that keep the younger seniors from coming. If you are a dog owner be advised to read the rules before staying. Any visitor's complaint about your dog takes president. Residents won't hesitate to keep you straight on dog rules. Overall a good park, but a select few can dampen your experience.

We asked for a specific site, which was confirmed in the email we received after we paid. When we arrived, they put us on an undesirable site and basically said...too bad...so sad..we are not site specific! This is not the first time we have had trouble with the office staff. Last year when we extended our stay, they couldn't find it and wanted us to leave!

This RV park may be 'in the middle of nowhere' but it is the center of activity, for sure, in the winter months. We planned to stay 2 months, stayed 3 months, and would have stayed longer if we could have! We're headed back after Christmas this year and will stay until April. The place starts hopping in early November and doesn't pause until early April. It's like going to adult winter camp, only more exciting.
There are over 100 activities going on every week... Indoors and out. Golf and golf lessons on the 9 hole golf course onsite in the park, motorcycle club, model boat racing and model airplane flying, crafts of every variety including woodworking, gardening, painting, writing, book clubs, bocce ball and shuffleboard, every card game you can think of, music opportunities galore, exercise room and pool aerobics, heated pool with hot tub, live entertainment 1-2 evenings a week. If you are bored, it is your fault!
Volunteer fire dept and medical first responders in the park. Church services on site every Sunday. Everyone is friendly, park provided name tags are encouraged. Whether for one day, one week, one month, one season, or every year, you can't go wrong bringing your RV to Traveler's Rest.

60 sites with 30/50 amp sewer and electric sites are 60 x 30 not level and are grass needed 4 inches under rear wheels to keep from taking them off the ground when level. Bathroom are clean but can’t use them between 6a.m. and 8a.m. as they are cleaning them. Only 2 toilets and 2 showers for men 4 toilets in women’s for park. There is no reservations just a spot some are worse then others, have a short flat golf course and many activities for men and women. Have entertainment some free some paid. It is a pet friendly park, which is nice. Used to have cable but now none but did not reduce the price since it was removed. Wifi is terrible can connect some times other times can’t, seems like the people that live here like to stream TV and Movies. Do advertise Fishing but it is on the golf course so have to not interfere with that and if you golf they have many leagues every day. This is not a friendly park like others I have stayed. Management seems very rude and get the feeling they want the money nothing else Good Sam rated it (facility) 8.5 (restroom) 8.5 (beauty) 9.5 I think they over rated it and should be (facility) 5 (restrooms) 5 (beauty) 7 because of the amount of people that use it. Only stayed because of friends, don’t know if will come back or not.

Great park!! Friendly, clean, lots of activities during the winter season!
WiFi was a problem but the new WiFi installation should be finished by Nov., 2015 according to management. There's no cable but the over the air signal has many stations because of the proximity to Tampa.

Pros:Great, beautiful location. Wonderful golf course (if one plays golf). The campers and staff are very friendly.
Cons: The site was on grass, and took a lot of boards to level up. The electric service tripped the breaker on 30 amp, so I had to use a 50 amp adapter to avoid further power outages. We called in advance to ask about the WiFi and was told it was great. It was the worst we have encountered on this trip. Tried to sign in on 4 different devices with no success. Conversations with some regulars revealed the WiFi was nearly non-existent most of the time. This 'resort' caters to a mostly older demographic, and the litany of rules were overwhelming.
We stopped by because of some friends suggestion. Now, we can say we've been there. We have no need to ever go back.

Campground was established in the 70's-originally as a Airstream Owners resort (it has a golf course and a feels like you're in a small mini town with a post office and a activity center)-
What I find astounding about this part of Florida is there are pretty big hills, and vistas, and huge old live oak trees. If you're headed North or South on 75 and living the RV lifestyle, this spot is pleasant and restful overnight stay.

If you have a TV, do a channel search. We picked up over 25 stations without cable including ION and of course ABC, NBC and CBS.
