Just spent 4 nights at Kings Bay Lodge. This was our second trip. We enjoyed every moment. If you are looking for a great place to get away this is the place to go. This lodge sits directly on Kings Bay. We saw manatees right off the dock. My family loved the spring fed pool. The room was comfortable and the kitchen stocked with all the essentials needed for a comfy stay. We walked to Hunter Springs and rented Kayaks. What a fun experience. Our stay was during COVID-19, the lodge and guests were following CDC guidelines which was very much appreciated. We will definitely be back!

Hotel's Favorite
This 1950s 'motel' was a great find in Crystal River. What a nice surprise to open the door to a cool, spotlessly clean and well organized efficiency. The room is spacious, the king bed comfortable, the kitchen excellently equipped, the room is nice and bright, the wi-fi is great, lots of TV channels and a super quiet atmosphere. The motel sits on Kings Bay and has a huge covered outdoor eating area with BBQs with lots of picnic tables and is well lit at night. The pool is spring fed and crystal clear with a grass and sand bottom and the water level rises and falls with the tides. The water is an ice cold 72 degrees year round. There is ample dockage for your boat and a fish cleaning station. We are returning in a few weeks for another stay. If you need to base yourself in the Crystal River area you will not be disappointed at the historic Kings Bay Lodge. For Florida history fans don't miss a visit to the Crystal River Archeological State Park, about 2 miles up the road. Learn of the ancient river dwellers of the area, see exhibits, walk the interpretive trail and learn of the peoples who settled this area so long ago they don't even have a name for them. Go 2 miles north on Highway 19 and look for the sign for the turnoff. Check the schedule before going as the visitor center with amazing dioramas is not open every day. The trails and the site are open daily.

We stayed in room 12 and it was perfect. We had a table by the window overlooking the bay, it was the perfect place for coffee! Clean spacious rooms and great spring fed pool was a great afternoon swim. We went to fish and we were not disappointed! Bait shop was on our way out and restaurants we could walk to or boat to. This was perfect and we can't wait to go back!

When we checked into Kings Bay Lodge, the manager was friendly and gave us lots of good info about the area. This wasn't our first visit to the Lodge and it will not be our last. It always feel like a visit to a family home. The motel has several buildings all facing a common covered outdoor pavilion with grills and picnic tables. Our room was spacious, and the bed linens were fresh and clean. The main room was a combined living/dining/sleeping area with a sofa, two recliners, a dining table with four chairs, and two queen size beds on the other side of the room. A separate kitchenette is just off the dining area. Pots, pans, utensils and coffee pot are provided. You aren’t going to cook any big meals in the kitchenette but it worked great for breakfast, lunch and lite dinners. Who wants to cook on a vacation? The Lodge sits directly on Kings Bay. It’s an easy walking distance to the historic Crystal River downtown with plenty of dining choices. And is also walking distance to Hunter Springs Park where you can kayak, paddleboard, and swim with manatees. Location is close to parks and biking trails as well. We brought our own bikes and enjoyed several bike outings while we were there. One of the coolest parts about Kings Bay Lodge is the natural pool - a truly unique Old Florida-style spring fed, freshwater pool that sits at the edge of Kings Bay. The water is cool for a February swim, although other guests were in the water. We enjoyed sitting by the pool and watching the bright orange sunsets with a cup of tea. Our stay was comfortable and very enjoyable. It's the kind of place where kids can run around outside and parents can socialize but still keep an eye on them. If you're looking for a vacation with an authentic Old Florida feel, you'll love Kings Bay Lodge.
