Our group of 8 rented a pontoon boat for 4 hours for under $120. It was a beautiful trip. Saw dozens of manatees, beautiful homes, wonderful scenery, and lots of birds. Had a really wonderful time. Did not stay at hotel.

I so wanted to like this place-it has a great location and history. Unfortunately, that was impossible. The first thing I noticed was the musty smell. Oh, well. It's an old property which had clearly seen better times. No big deal. Until . . . I looked at the mattresses and found abundant evidence of bedbug infestation and a big hole in the corner of the box spring. Add a toilet which wouldn't flush, and the decision was made-I couldn't stay. I went to the desk, explained the issue and was told that there was no other room available and no refund possible due to booking through a 3rd party online. Also, no manager available to speak with. I was told the manager would get the message and I would receive a call the next day. Didn't happen. I called the online booking site helpline and was told they would contact the manager and send an email to me with the proposed resolution. Didn't happen. As a result, I paid for 5 nights at a motel at which I did not stay. I completely understand having to pay for 1 night-but all 5??!? And there is NO excuse for the extreme lack of responsiveness to the situation. I am disgusted, but at least I thought to look before I stayed--could have been worse.

I was unsure after reading the mixed reviews of booking here but I am glad I did. It was just the hidden gem that my husband and I needed. Low key, unstructured, totally able to unplug from the hustle and bustle. Arrived from South Beach from a work trip for a Manatee dive for my 60th b'day wanted to stay on the water and unwind and we were definitely able to do so.Yes, the place is outdated but clean. Loved our little veranda and it's close proximity to the Margarita Breeze Resturant. The food was amazing and the band was awesome! We ended up extending our stay and will be coming back. The manatee dive was absolutely a highlight of a lifetime.
