This is a historic hotel, that stands Guard over all of Coral Gables.

It is surrounded by a beautiful golf course and incredible landscaping. I found myself stepping back into the vaunted history of this South Florida Landmark as our family stepped into the Marble and Mahogany soaring entryway and check-in desk.

Nothing dated about the service attitude and staff at the Biltmore... I found everyone, from check in to the golf course to the restaurant staff had a professionalism and joy in their position and dedication to helping us appreciate this landmark

You can imagine, presidents, athletes and notables of history sitting in the lobby gazing up at the ceiling of sculpted tiles or yes, smoking a cigar and taking in the sights in times past.

This is not your Mom’s Marriott and does not claim to be. Just taking the elevator to our room was uplifting… no pun intended… the teak and mahogany carved walls and marble floor of the elevator showed the care that is and was put into this hotel

Our room was spacious, with two queen beds and looked over the pool and the golf course. Comfortable with a recent renovations brought the room up to modern standards without taking away the charm of the Biltmore.

The hallways, and in fact the entire hotel is replete with black and white photographs of past events and personalities that frequented South Florida. The large outdoor pool commands the north side of the building and claims to be the largest outdoor pool in Florida… relaxing and heated. There is also a large gym just before you enter the pool area.

On Friday night we ate at Fontana. It was easy to get reservations and we were seated in a corner of the outdoor courtyard. If possible, ask for seating near the fountain in the open courtyard… something charming about being close to this Italian fountain while dining under the stars.

The food was well prepared and plated and not overpriced, in my opinion. I had the seafood embedded Orzo pasta and it was outstanding, with shrimp, lobster, calamari and clams…. Would order again and the portion was enough for two. Steaks and salads were ordered by my family and all complimented the chef’s preparation and plating.

We ate breakfast at the 19th hole of the golf course. A bit pricey but tasty with relaxing patio views of the golf course.

Take a walk from the hotel to the 9 hole course called Granada... it will introduce you to the charm of the surrounding neighborhood or coral gables.

Will come again

The hotel is a true 5 star experience. Everything is cleaned twice a day, the staff makes an effort to do everything possible to make people feel safe. We ate at La Fontana about 8 times, each time the food was excellent and the service was impeccable. Best hotel in Miami by far.

Went to the Biltmore for a staycation for the 4th of July weekend. The hotel was absolutely beautiful and the staff is very friendly. Covid precautions: there were bottles of hand sanitizers on all dining tables and counters which was nice. There were a few stand alone automatic hand sanitizers around the property (you wave your hand under) none of them worked. The foot pulls on the bathroom doors were a nice addition. There were some guests walking around without a mask on and I did not see hotel employees correcting them. Gloves by employees should not be worn as they are spreading the bacteria from one spot to another. We had pool dining service both days for lunch (food was excellent) but the employees wore gloves to handle your credit cards, food, etc with the same gloves. Pool attendees were wiping down the pool chairs with Clorox regularly which was nice. Upon check in they told us the rooms had a 48 hour period between guest turnovers which was nice. My room (junior suite) felt very clean except there were 4 old French fries on the rug below the tv stand. Overall the hotel is stunning and the staff members are welcoming and so nice. We only live an hour away and will definitely come back some type in the future.

get ready for a whirlwind of disorganization. What an awful experience. From the moment my husband and I arrived it was a mess. No bellhop to be found, no valet. I asked the front desk if there was a bell hop and she responded, he's busy. There's no service by the pool, you're lucky if you get get the attention of the one waiter who is extremely over worked. We had to go to the bar to get our own drinks. When we finally were able to order food, the order came out wrong, not only for lunch but also the next day for breakfast. By the way, I guess the pool towel dryers were broken because the pool towel smell repulsive. If you're ever left a load overnight and forgot to dry it, that's what it smelt like. Also, the two or three pool people the do have staff just stand there, i asked for chairs and towels and they gave them to me to set up. When i asked if he could wipe down a chair someone just got up from he just looked at me and finally walked over to spray down the chair but didn't bring a rag to wipe it down. the pool men are useless. We watched as the one waiter working the pool dropped at whole tray of drinks and no one of him helped clean it up and the waiter was too busy to bother, so the mess just stayed at the foot of the pool. Don't bother using the in-room phone to call the front desk, concierge or any restaurants, because no one answers the phone. When we finally checked out, the front desk manager argued with me that we didn't have breakfast the morning of and tried to deny giving me my american express platnium benefit for complimentary breakfast. She told me the restaurant casade didn't open until 11:30 and didn't serve breakfast. It actually blew my mind the manager had absolutely no idea what was happening in their own backyard. We indeed get to breakfast at 10AM, I ordered eggs and my husband an omelet plus I know I'm not crazy! There was also french toast on the menu, plus many more breakfast items. I also told her that the service has been really disappointing, and she said, 'what would you like me to do about it?' Her name is Janelle Llanes, front office manager. Truly a horrible experience and we will never be returning.

Having stayed at the Biltmore Hotel for decades since the late 1980s, we’ve sadly come to terms with the fact that the hotel has lost its venerable charm, decorum and attention to detail. The beds are old and saggy, to the point where sleeping on the floor is a more comfortable option (seriously). The noise of a dysfunctional air conditioning unit in a neighboring room woke us early one morning; it was if a jackhammer was rattling the walls. While the hotel manager was attentive to our complaint, we did not receive (as promised) any sort of follow up or resolution of the situation. Beyond our uncomfortable and disrupted sleep, the hotel’s lack of cleanliness and attention to detail soured our stay. The pool area is littered with old cigarette butts, discarded plastic and napkins. The poolside tables have cigarette ashes and crumbs atop their surfaces. Lastly, the joy and hospitality of the hotel’s employees seems to have faded. There are some employees we recognize from previous stays, but no one is as happy or pleasant. What has happened to this once edenic place to stay in Goral Gables? We enjoy the nearby Salvador Tennis Center (with their beautifully maintained clay courts), the cafe at Books&Books (for its fresh and healthy menu, as well as convivial atmosphere) and the authentic friendly Italian restaurant Fratellino (on Miracle Mile). However, we will no longer stay at the Biltmore when next we visit Coral Gables. Our love affair is over!

This hotel is not worth the price and comes dangerously close to false advertising. If the staff onsite responded to inquiries half as fast and the GM seems to be responding to Trip Advisor reviews, that would be a huge improvement. The hotel is not cleaning rooms due to covid. Fine - understandable... But tell people? Let them know that service needs to be requested and don't be rude when people complain when they don't understand why their room isn't clean. Also, give them towels when they ask for them and don't make them come downstairs twice because you don't answer the phone. Oh - and get high-speed internet packages for guests to buy. People need to be able to be on video calls.

I've visited the Biltmore for many events in the past but this was my first time staying there - my wife and I stayed there with our infant son. The property and common areas are, of course, gorgeous and lived up to all expectations.

Unfortunately, the rooms - and in particular, the bathrooms - leave much to be desired, especially for the price of the room. The room floors are old tile and in the bathroom we had the marble had cracked and fallen off the tub. I understand these are COVID times requiring a lot of scaling back of service, but (a) our first room had a dead roach in the bathroom, which is unacceptable for a luxury hotel of this grade (which required us to change rooms to room with a lower floor); and (b) we were not told that housekeeping was only done upon request (during COVID, this is understandable, but we really would've wanted to know that at check in). Finally, we requested a crib for our baby, but the crib was not in great shape, had old/musty bedding on it, and bumpers were installed (which are considered unsafe for babies due to the risk of SIDS).

Service was the bright spot and the staff was friendly and helpful. But to be honest, I've stayed at far nicer hotels for less than half the price.

We were there celebrating my gf's birthday, there were 10 of us staying as group and we had 5 rooms. First off, when we arrived we were greeted by the eloquent and very hospitable Eduardo, I think he was the concierge but he also helped us with our luggages. Eduardo is the epitone of an amazing first impression, he set the tone of how amazing our trip would turn out to be, he was very detailed, friendly and most of all patient with us as it was our first time at this amazing property. The next person who stood out tremendously was Clinton Taylor, he took care of our party of 10 ppl for breakfast by the 19 hole. His attention to detail and how courteous he was blew us away, this is a gentleman who knows hospitality and made us feel warm and welcomed. The housekeeping team was great, the 2 ladies that delivered items to our room while we were there were very nice. The problem we had was on our last day at the pool when we asked the pool attendants if we could have a chair to put our belongings on, we only needed one because we would all be swimming. The gentleman said there were no more chairs as they were all taken. I said ok, thats fine..so my party of 10, we all put our belongings on the ground, he didnt even asked us if we needed a towel to lay them on. So a few minutes afterwards, we didn't even got in the pool as yet we saw his colleague pulling pool chairs from behind bushes to give to a lady that just walked in the pool. The guy pulled out 3 pool chairs and the same guy who I asked for 1 chair helped him spread towels on them. I was shocked, I couldn't believe what I was witnessing. Either these guys are hiding chairs for special guests or they thought we weren't going to tip them. With that being said, I'm still giving this resort a 5 star and I will be back very soon. Give Eduardo and Clinton a raise!

I recently spent the day poolside at the Biltmore Hotel in Coral Gables and had an amazing experience. It was a beautiful day that could only have been made more perfect by the wait staff and the food service. Everyone from the hosts to the servers were friendly and accommodating. Darwin, our waiter, was on hand to provide towels, drinks and our delicious meal in a timely manner, always with a smile. Patricia, the manager, came by to check on us, as did any of the staff passing by. They made us feel at home and pampered as we enjoyed the afternoon lounging by the iconic pool. It was a perfect day!

Patricia who is the director of the pool is superb!! She is there from morning to night insuring that every guest is well cared for. Nothing escapes her notice— the smallest piece of paper on the floor is quickly picked up and she is constantly cleaning, helping, and always with a big smile. How she remembers guests names and preferences is amazing, but she does . She is one reason we always return to the Biltmore!

I do not know if the pool is heated. My stay was August. Hot out. I would not imagine that an event might occupy the entire pool area, it massive. And there are ballrooms for events. I’m sure if you call the hotel they can tell you if the water is heated.

We had two really good breakfasts (brunch depending on the hour) at the hotel. One at the main restaurant downstairs in the patio. The other overlooking the golf course.
