I stayed at this hotel for two nights while visiting a client. While the room decor was nice, and the hotel staff was friendly, the amenities (if any) are lacking. To start, there is not a coffee maker or iron in the room. While traveling for business, I need to iron my shirts. Also having a cup of coffee (no matter how bad) in the morning is important. The bathroom was small, but the shower was newly done. They provide decent shampoo but only have a bar of soap (which is usually fine). The issue is there is no shelf in the shower to put your soap, shampoo, ect. It has to live on the floor, which with a bar of soap is not ideal. The location is pretty good with restaurants all around.

I wanted someplace near Coral Way. Thanks to TripAdvisor, I found this gem. Memphis was playing at the Actors' Playhouse on Coral Way and a dear friend of mine was in it. *The play was worth the trip (wonderful, friendly, talented cast). I arrived at St. Michel on Wednesday afternoon. I took the 42 LeJeune bus to Giralda Avenue and walked a few blocks to St. Michel. There is no doorman but one of the elevator operators opened the door and invited me inside with a sincere smile. From that moment, I knew my stay would be a pleasant one. I was checked in by Evelyn who answered my questions with enthusiasm. I could have breakfast inside the restaurant Zucca which exists on the property but operates independently. The elevator operator took my bags and I up to my room. There I was presented with my large, old-fashioned room key. Adorable. My room was a Deluxe Queen Room with Queen Size Bed - spacious and newly renovated. The aged smell of the hotel greeted me upon entry. Nothing that Febreze couldn't remedy. Lovely neutral colors. Floor lamp by the window, a lamp on each nightstand by the bed, and a modern halogen lamp on the desk by the door. Love the balloon curtains which easily lifted/lowered with a slight touch. A large flat-screen tv mounted the wall over the desk and played smooth jazz. Well-lit room with an efficient a/c unit between the tv and floor lamp. Quiet. The a/c remote sat in its perch by the door. Another remote which operated the lamps sat on a nightstand. Tv remote on the desk with ice-bucket and drinking glasses - Real glass, not plastic. No coffee/tea maker - boo. 2 roomy chairs, near the windows, face the interior. Very clean and comfortable with a small table between them. Again adorable. There is no actual closet but you can hang your coats, etc onto the sturdy metal rod which attaches to the "bookcase." They supplied lots of hangers so the 2 extra I bought with me were unnecessary. The "bookcase" is quite tall and you can rest your clothes & other personal items on the shelves. I believe 2 shelves were enclosed. Love the wooden ceiling fan which is activated by the same remote as the a/c. Fan and a/c were quiet operators. All-in-all, my room was a great size and not pictured on the website at all. My room was better. It faced the alley but that didn't bother me. No smells nor loud distractions greeted me during my stay. There was no dust ANYWHERE - trust me, I looked. I expected it in this old hotel. This has to be the cleanest hotel room I've ever stayed in. Rivals the rooms in Zurich and Zuoz, Switzerland where I've lodged in the past. The bathroom was clean, bright with a shower stall. Amenties by Signature Natura - soap, lotion, hair care. Hot water wasn't a problem. The bed was comfortable to sleep in. I loved it here. The quietness of the area and respectful neighbors helped sleep quality Thank you Ina, Evelyn, Elizabeth, night staff, house-cleaning staff and elevaror operators for making my stay awesome. Yes, I plan to stay again on my next visit to Coral Gables/Miami.

Lovely boutique hotel. Staff was wonderful. When you stay in a small older hotel some amenities may be lacking.. that's understandable. But my issue that we did not have a room anything like the photos. My room had a bed and a desk. No cute little table for two, etc. there was hardly and place for two people to walk. Thankfully we were only there for one night . I would not recommend this hotel for longer stays.
