This resort is beautiful and the decor is perfect. The rooms are all ocean facing and the view is spectacular. You get a nice view down the beach toward the pier and the sunsets are amazing - even got to see manatees. We like to walk the beach in the morning - lots of shells to pick up, but prefer the pool for relaxing. When it's busy, the pool and pool chairs can get quite crowded. Each floor has a guest pantry with bottled water, light morning snacks and daily 2pm fresh baked cookies. We enjoyed food and refreshments at the Reflections Poolside Bar, the SandBar and SeaGuini. The Poolside Bar had a great location and view of the boats coming in and out of the bay. The SandBar is open to the public, right off the beach and a great vibe with afternoon entertainment. SeaGuini has a great breakfast buffet - and I am not much for buffets. The dinner was a little more on the formal side with amazing food. Honestly, the service at all the locations was superior. However, I would like to call out George and Gary at SeaGuini, and Jake and Nick at the SandBar - nice job, way to go! We did not use any of the spa services this trip as we were only visiting for a few days. The Opal Sands Spa shop has some very nice items and I made several purchases; sunglasses, men's dress shirt, women's skirt coverup and the famous blueberry muffin mix to mention a few. There is construction taking place right next door which created a little noise, but necessary in order to make improvements and expansion. Staff indicated it will be a phase two which will hopefully create additional spaces for this very busy resort. I would say it has more of an adults-only feel, but there were some families. If I were to plan a family trip with kids/grandkids, would probably opt for their sister SandPearl Resort down by the pier. Opal Sands is a little more expensive resort which is probably my only complaint - but you get what you pay for. We hope to return and bring family and/or friends.

Opal Sands is a well appointed modern hotel that has a keen attention to detail. The staff were very friendly and attentive. The pool was well run and easy to access. Although it was a busy time, we never had to wait for the pool. In short they make it easy to access the facility. The rooms are spacious and clean.

Our trip was great until the last 2 days. The valet wrecked our rental car in the parking garage. They assured us they would take care of the damages but the car was rented through TURO. We are being charged by TURO for all the damages and opals sands refuses to pay us the money even after I proved that I have been charge the amount of the damages from TURO. Jeff Castner the general manger has refused to call me back after leaving multiple messages and the valet manager moved to a new position and didn’t even tell the new valet manager about the situation he promised to take care. I am out all the money and they ruined the last two days of our stay. They have offered us nothing in return for this nightmare. We are still dealing with this issue 7 weeks later and can’t get opal sands to even have enough respect to call us. We have tried to be patient and kind but I have reached my limit with this place!

My husband and I were greeted timely and checked in efficiently. We were surprised by a complimentary bottle of champagne and chocolate covered strawberries . Our bed was uber comfortable and the rooms view was great. It was quiet in the evening, which I appreciate especially since it was Labor Day weekend. One of the things I appreciate the most is that the minute we make our way out to the pool we are offered either a drink or an ice cream, which we always turn down. However, it’s nice to be asked in addition, even when it’s busy, someone always finds us chairs and dresses them for us. We don’t have to walk around wondering, where are we going to sit because it looks like there’s not a chair. This is super important to me because the trip is about relaxing and there is nothing relaxing when you can’t find a chair at the pool so I do appreciate the service at the pool. I always order the Caesar salad poolside - and it never disappoints. There was considerable ants on my chair which was irritating however I got in the lounger in the pool which solved the problem. We’ve never had an issue with ants at the pool and I’m assuming it’s because of the recent hurricane and all of the water and moisture. As I was walking through the lobby, I stopped to smell the flowers this evening there was a beautiful bouquet near the elevators - one of the staff approached me and asked me if I would like one. He went and got the scissors and cut a beautiful rose for me. This is the type of service we expect when we travel from another nearby city for a weekend getaway. Our car is always pulled up timely because we generally leave the hotel and go to a nearby beach we love which is more private. I would highly recommend the hotel. Thank you for the service! The Roberts

Clearwater Beach is a fabulous location. Opal Sands is the best hotel in the area. From the moment of arrival you are greeted by the excellent check in staff and then all the other staff are excellent- special shout out to Jaqueline at the Sandbar (friendly, charming and professional). Our family visit to Florida is not complete without a stay at Opal Sands in Clearwater. What do we love about this hotel - pretty much everything. What do we dislike- nothing!

I cannot say enough about the customer service and overall experience while staying at the Opal Sands! Everything exceeded our expectations and we will definitely be back! The crab BLT at the Sandbar was so yummy, I had it twice! The daybeds at the pool and the gulf cabana was amazing! Clark at concierge will do it all and he was beyond lovely! Our sweet pool server, Jaelyn, was so awesome we requested her service multiple days! The views, the food, the drinks and service were all exceptional!

What a beautiful resort. This is our first experience at the Opal Sands Resort and I have nothing but positive comments. It starts when we arrive with a friendly valet service, up to the front desk where the staff went the extra mile to ensure we were in a room with the perfect view. Our daughter was joining us later, and they ensured that we were close to her room as well. The atmosphere is so relaxing; I feel like I’m on the beach the minute I walk in. Food is excellent and again, Customer service is clearly a priority for this entire facility.
