From the time we drove up the service was spot on. I haven't seen this type of service in a very long time. To check in was effortless. They even took time to find a room with a firm mattress as my husband has a very bad back. No matter what was needed the staff was there happy to help.
There’s so much to say about this gorgeous and amazing resort. From the staff, to the amenities, to the food and style of this resort. This is by far our favorite resort in Clearwater beach! We have missed it so much! The last time we stayed here was right before COVID. Check in went so smoothly! We arrived early, around 10:30 am and our room was ready right at 11 am with all of our requests in mind! I was shocked. I was expecting to sit by the pool and have a few drinks until the room was ready closer to the 4 pm check in time. Our bellman Nick was very quick to bring up our luggage to the room once it was ready and was so kind. Thank you! Awesome job, everyone! Gina at the pool bar was AMAZING! So attentive and sweet! We had countless beachy drinks, that looked beautiful and taste great too! You HAVE to try the Crab BLT poolside overlooking the beautiful Gulf of Mexico. It was beyond delicious and hit the spot! What more can you ask for?! Ethan at Seaguini was THE BEST server! He knew exactly how to describe every dish perfectly and was on his A game. The food there was just exquisite! You have to try the steak! It was by far best steak I have had in a long time! Chefs kiss! Plus we were sat right by the windows overlooking the pool and ocean, around sunset. The perfect date night! Overall this stay went by WAY TOO FAST! I wish we could have stayed longer and I cannot wait to come back! This resort has always kept up between cleanliness, friendly staff, impeccable service. I could go on and on. Plus you can’t beat the views and location! Honestly, I wish I could live here! If you are coming to Clearwater, Opal Sands is THE only place to stay!…
We loved our visit to Clearwater Beach and Opal Sands. The location was amazing, rooms and views are beautiful. We took the hotel provided bikes and rode along the boardwalk to breakfast each day. There are tons of great restaurants in walking distance. We ate dinner at Sea Guini and it was amazing. The only negative thing I can say is that the beach and pool become very crowded- if you show up in the afternoon you will not get a seat. Also, the beach has lots of seaweed in the water and all over the beach. It didn’t bother us but I expected the beach to be clearer and cleaner. We would come back.
Phenomenal experience from every aspect of this hotel. Service was exceptional. Rooms and views were amazing. Great pool, rented a daybed and the cocktail service was fast. Our only downside was that several food items were just ok, but I will be returning as everything else was just spot on perfect
Great room (1514) with a gorgeous view. Nice staff. Lovely pool with a super attentive staff. Great that the hotel is immediately adjacent to the beach but not on the beach, so the hotel feels relatively private. Nice gym. Sea Guini restaurant was just okay.
Garbage made us think everything was included for $700 and we got nothing but the basic stuff. We paid $200 at another hotel for alot more. The only reason we gave it one star was the view of the gulf of mexico
Family of 5 stayed in a 2 queen with pull sofa room for 3 night during spring break in Mid March. We really enjoyed our stay and would absolutely go back. I did my research in advance and having stayed at Opal brand hotels in the past now they are great at customer service and advance requests. I knew I wanted a room has high up as possible and in the middle. Via their website I made that request and got from 1413, second from the top and right smack in the middle overlooking the ocean and pool. Sunset views where amazing! Only suggestions for improvement are better mattress for the pull out. I request a mattress pad and received one in about 5 minutes which helped. Also more vegetarian options at the restaurants. Service was great, with most requests being done over text and answered quickly. They held our bags the last day since we had a late plane ride and we enjoyed the pool and beach all day.…
This resort is fantastic. The rooms are spacious and all have sea views. There is room service which I love - a gym and a great restaurant called Sea Guni. What really made it for me was the staff - in particular - Halle who served in Sea Guini. She was delightful and I'm sorry I didn't get to say goodbye properly. Thanks Halle for your great service! A lovely guy called Wayne came up to our room to help us stream from our laptops and he was really helpful too. Finally, a staff member at the pool was excellent and helped us find chairs (the pool is usually busy and if you don't get there early you might struggle to get a place - the usual 'pool dash' that happens in most hotels. He was ready with a big smile and friendly. The only staff member who was slightly abrupt was a long-serving barman in Sea Guini - a bit arrogant and dismissive but the other staff members made up for him The outside bar below the pool is also worth a visit!!. Great location! I recommend this place.…
Opal Sands is a beautiful hotel and I would recommend staying here. Just do your research first aka read my review. 😉 Pros - cleanliness of room, common areas, pool - modern chic decor - location = easy walk to beach, restaurants, shops, - beds = extremely comfortable - live entertainment - incredibly friendly staff - guest pantry is very convenient and the sugar cookies are amazing! Cons - difficult to get seats at the pool = you aren't supposed to leave your stuff on the lounge chairs to claim them, but you aren't getting a seat unless you do this early in the morning. They need a better system it really sucks to not be able to get a seat at the pool when half the chairs are empty with towels on them. I witnessed many other people frustrated by this. half way through the trip we had to adopt the motto "if you can't beat em, join em". - noise level from balcony = our room (905) was too close to the street . I was looking forward to listening to the waves in the morning and at night but you will also hear the maintenances trucks cleaning the beach and throughout the day/ night you will hearf buses, delivery trucks, and sports cars/bikes revving their engines. Tip : If your room number ends in 01 you are literally right on the street. as the room numbers go up you are further away from the road and also get a view of the pool. ie room 915 is overlooking pool and quieter, while 905 has no pool view and is close to the street. -SeaGuini: Im a foodie and this was a bit of a let down. great presentation but the quality didn't match. the crispy brussel sprouts and short rib were the only dishes I would order again. I would definitely stay here again as long as I got a room away from the street.…
Excellent hotel. Front desk staff and concierge very friendly. Our room was clean. Loved our time on the green pad relaxing by the pool. Excellent pool food. The restaurant is nice but way overpriced. Bear a trolley stop. Wonderful vacation. My only complaint is for what you pay fruit and cookies should be more plentiful and continental breakfast should be provided in those snack areas on each floor. Would return.
