My wife & I booked a 2 night stay at the Hilton Clearwater Beach Resort & Spa for my 33rd birthday. This was our first time at a Hilton, we’re normally Hyatt people. We had very high expectations reasonable or not because of the status symbol that Hilton has. The exterior of the hotel & the common area decor was very captivating. They have a very beautiful deck area with a stunning view of the beach! During check in we asked about the type of bed that was in the room because I specified that I would like one queen or king instead of two fulls because it’s my wife & I and understandably we don’t want to sleep in separate beds. We were told that they do not have queens on the property & that they were sold out of Kings. As is our routine we checked in, left our things in our car & headed up to check out our room. To me the interior design of the room was nice but it wasn’t what I would have considered HILTON nice. As we explored the room we noticed cleanliness issues such as the shower not being spotless & gunk build up on the light switch. Also damage issues such as a mark going across the wall, all of the the tv remote’s buttons not functioning & half of the bathroom mirror light bulbs being blown. My wife noticed a spot in the bottom of the shower & wanted to find out if it was rust or dirt. While doing that she noticed that underneath the toilet was disgusting! I don’t how much of it was rust & how much of it was a lack of proper cleaning but it wasn’t a good look what so ever. We head back to the check in desk & overhear the same representative that told us there were no more king size beds giving another couple...you guessed it, a KING SIZE BED! So at this point my wife is livid & she asks to speak to a manager. The manager whose name is Katerina was very professional, she made us feel heard, she apologized and she upgraded us to a new room with a king size bed. She explained to us that they did have king size beds but that there are levels to the rooms you can book & the room level that we booked did not afford us a king size bed. She explained that due to Covid-19 they were short staffed & were trying really hard to train the new staff that they do have. So we headed up to our upgraded room & there it was a complete 180. The view was amazing! Our first room was an interior room so we did not expect a balcony let alone a view but we had one. It was a view of the roof but you were able to see the beach past the roof. NO ISSUE REMEMBER THIS WAS AN INTERIOR ROOM. The room had no damages, it was spotless, everything worked. Due to the biggest issue we had with our last room we checked under the toilet, we discovered the same cleanliness appearance issue. It seems to just be how their toilets are. However for a Hilton, with Hilton prices during a pandemic when most people are cautious with where they spend their money this is unacceptable. Long story short the manager Katerina had us email her the pictures of the room so we also emailed her a picture of the new room. She asked us how she could accommodate us & we let her know. The next day which was the day before we were to check out Katerina was off so we briefed the manager on duty Z on what was going on. He too was a breath of fresh air! He obliged to both of our request for accommodations. We were given an extra night & we were very pleased with the customer service that we received. We rode jet skis for the first time at the resort & that was outstanding. Due to Covid-19 the bike riding amenity was not available but when asking questions about it a gentleman named Tez was very patient with our inquiries, displayed impeccable customer service & pointed us to where we could get additional information. This review was long but informative, hope it helps somebody. We are very thankful for the staff we had the pleasure of working with & hope that Hilton can fix the issues that are present at the moment. My wife &I would definitely come back!

I always wanted to stay here due to location and the beach bar and nice pools. But dang .... this place needs some serious TLC ! Our first room had an issue where the air conditioner made a horrible sound every 10 seconds. Nobody could sleep through that. The second room was an “upgrade” to a straight on ocean view. As others said, you look at loud ugly air conditioners. The view and the sound is awful. We booked the last two nights separately on points and got a better room. But there are paint chips, loud toilets etc. And no breakfast for diamond but they serve ala carte for a fee. Not sure how they chalk this up as Covid related by charging for what should be free to diamond members. Tons of extra fees. This doesn’t live up to Hilton standards.

After the craziness of COVID-19 my husband and I were looking for a small getaway for our family. Coming from Orlando it is close enough for a weekend getaway. We decided for mothers day we would take our kiddos and his mom with us for a small beach weekend. The staff was all amazing from start to finish. Our check in was quick and simple. When we got to the room it was clean and inviting. We had requested a roll-away that was in our room and waiting for us when we got there. This beautiful hotel is right near Pier 60, with many shopping and eating options. We loved EVERYTHING about this hotel and our stay and can not wait to make a trip back there.

When we arrived it took 2 calls, to get our bags to our room and the wrongs one were delivered. We finally recieved them an hour later. The hotel is in a great location but we had to call every day to get clean towels, toilet paper ect. Our room was not cleaned in the three days we stayed. The bathrooms by the pool area was discusting to say the least.

Let’s start with the good. Fantastic location on one of the best beaches in the country. Very clean and well kept grounds. Two nice pool areas that lead to the hotel beach area. Also a nice tiki bar on the beach. The valet staff and tiki bar staff were all welcoming and nice. For the room, the bed was very comfortable and great pillows. The balcony was clean with a nice view, but uncomfortable chairs. The bad. Value to price is way off. I feel that we way overpaid for what we received. Older property and it feels it. Rooms are small and bathrooms are tiny. Stains and other signs of age, and given the price not acceptable. Earned Hilton Diamond status, not even recognized. No upgrade, no complimentary breakfast, not even a warm welcome. I’d suggest the guest services manager visit a couple places I’d recommend and see how you welcome guests. Under the pretense of COVID response, Diamond breakfast benefit not provided, and housekeeping only every three days. Yet best I can tell I paid full price. If you’re going to cut back services it should reflect somewhere. I didn’t feel like anyone at the front desk appreciated the business at all. This is a property at a great location that will do business because of it. But they will never get my business back. Understanding that adjustments need to be made to business in these times... it should have been communicated by email prior to arriving, so we could decide if we wanted to stay or not. A welcome email did arrive 3 days prior, but did not outline how some services would not be honored or available. I should have paid more attention to the negative reviews here, as they are generally spot on. The ridiculous resort fee right now really provides no added benefit for the average guest. This property totally fails to live up to Hilton brand standards. As a Hilton Diamond, I would not return and it colors my opinion of the brand that they even flag this property. Final note... we booked a Gulf and pier view room. Great view. Do not book a city view, you will regret it.
