Just returned from five days at Sheraton Sand Key. Clearwater Beach is our favorite vacay in FL. Sheraton Sand Key is across the bridge out of the mainstream but close enough to walk to attractions. Or take the free Trolley. No parking fees or Resort Fees to disgust guests the pool area is great, beach spectacular and fairly private. The fire pit at night was great for socializing. Great facility and staff. Want to give a shout out to Karen at the front desk for her spectacular service and helpfulness
There are a lot of things to like about this hotel. Location is #1. You cannot find another hotel on the beach as good as this one. Restaurants serve really good food. Housekeeping, front desk, and restaurant personnel are well trained and provide exceptional service. Restaurant food, at the bistro, the bar, and the pool area is really good. Now, the facility has been around for a while, but rooms are extremely well furnished. Modern furniture and appliances. Walls are a little thin and you can sometimes hear a loud neighbor, but that is not a common occurrence. Understand that this hotel is not brand new, but it has many more "plusses" than "minuses" The location, staff, and facilities more than makeup for the minor issues. We have stayed in Marriot Resorts all Around the world, this has been the biggest dissapointment. We came for a rest, but it is impossible to sleep since there are some industrial fans you Can See and hear from the most of rooms. About COVID safety, it is terrible there are tons of people around such a small swimmingpool (it is not atención all like the photos), no any control about quantity of people or any safety issues like wearing masks. We travelled from another country and feel we wasted our money and our yearly holidays... Extremely dissapointed!
Both Restaurants on the main floor offer the Shrimp Tempura on the appetizer menu.. A MUST TRY! Started our meal with this treat 4 days in a row! I wish I was back there to have it again, you won't be disappointed.
Our family and friends made reservations at this hotel for the summer. We had several rooms. We had a few questions so we called to get some information. The person who answered the phone was rude. The person who she transferred us to was even worse. I understand that because of Covid people are stressed but there still needs to some level of professionalism displayed when dealing with patrons who make the choice of where they spend their hard earned money. As a results, we cancelled our several rooms and will be looking for somewhere else to stay. After reading some of their other reviews, it doesn't seem to be an isolated incident.
