Checked in on 2/22/23 for five days. As a Marriott Titanium member, the stay was disappointing. 1. The rooms are very old! Tiny bathroom, with no ventilation. Then a small room with one small sink outside the bathroom to get ready 2. They offer beach service for drinks and food. We got it ONLY ONE day. The other days they claimed were short staffed or staff needed in the restaraunt 3. The pool bar closed at 5pm, even on the weekends 4. The rooms have old wall AC's. They didn't work well, often stuck on and had the rooms feeling damp all day 5. They offer a trolley on 26 and 56 past the hour. Never on time 6. Last....getting Uber and Lyft was nearly impossible, and when could get it...20-30 minutes. Uber drivers told us they hated coming into the "beach" becuase of the traffic. This is not the Sheratons fault, but travelers should be aware…
As a business traveler, I did not get to take advantage of all the amenities but great value for the price, great location, great staff. Good food options at the on-site restaurants if you don't always want to go out. Beach is nice and usually quiet compared to the public ones. You may be able to find a better pool elsewhere, but you'll likely pay more. No resort fee or parking fee, which is unique for this area. Had a standard room with two queens so I don't know what others are like. Nothing fancy and not exactly setup for a business traveler but vacationers likely won't notice (wicker chair and table felt more appropriate for a patio, but it was fine). Located in a spot that's a little quieter than being in "the heart" of the tourist area but you can get there easily enough, with a free trolley as one option. Will be going back in June and I understand that rooms may be getting renovated at that time so be sure to check on that before booking. Special thanks to the staff and Tony Lilla, night manager. Forgot to bring a required medication with me and, using the chat feature in the Marriott / Bonvoy app, was able to figure out a solution. Tony went out of his way to stop at a local pharmacy and help me out. A+ customer service.…
Helaine at the Bluewater shop is so kind and helpful. She is very attentive, sweet-natured, and takes pride in her job. Need more people like her! We always look forward to our visits here at people like Helaine are key to making an experience warm & memorable.
What part of this run down filthy low class motel is “resort”? From the slovenly staff and their “ couldn’t care less” attitude, the horrible food and service (?) to the disgusting moldy bathrooms and worn out rooms - this place is a joke. The only thing going for them is the beach - which is public!
This old, run down facility is in bad need of a renovation. The rooms are small, the bathrooms aged and dirty. No matter how much disinfectant they throw at it they won’t cover up the discolored grout, lame tub/shower combo, or worn out carpeting. To make it worse the staff, particularly the front desk, know they’re working in a run down establishment. The overall attitude is dismissive of guests and indifferent. There is nothing “resort” about this place.
This hotel is horrible. The pool is photoshopped #1 the bedrooms are small and gross. Food =horrible. I stayed here w my parents and we had to leave the next day because of how horrible it was. This hotel is = day in. Plus everything smells.
First off I am reluctant to post a great review, as I do not want them to become solidly booked hence not enabling us to get a spot there again. Joking aside, we checked in Jan 31st and the room was lovely but as I have problems with seeing in darker rooms, we went to reception to express our concerns. Marta said she would do what she could, even though they were booked solid with FIVE conferences. The next day, we moved to another room and wow, it sure did not disappoint with panoramic views of the Gulf, pool and I could see much better. Honestly everyone from Marta, restaurant/pool bar staff, cleaners....front concierge....were wonderful. All were so friendly, personable, and we have never witnessed so many smiling people in a hotel before. It was such an upbeat stay for us and we really want to get back here as soon as we can. Plus the beds were most comfortable and the premises uber clean. Yes the rooms need a bit of an update but we have that at home and had not planned on sitting in the hotel room as there was a glorious beach to check out. The pool was warm and we also loved get togethers with other guests at the fire pit. THANK YOU to all staff.…
I live on the island of Anna Maria and I’m the owner of a well-known Kiteboarding company called EPICKITES. The reason my son and I decided to stay at the Sheraton for four nights was due to the U.S. Open Kiteboarding regatta races they had here in Clearwater. The people working here were so nice and that includes the restroom and also the cleaning people. Not to forget the manager Cydney who helped us with our late check out due to these competitions.
Hotel categorizes themselves as a resort property with rates running $300-$500. Unfortunately, the quality of service at the hotel does not reflect a resort property. Hotel is in need of updating to be consistent with the prices they are charging. Rooms was unfortunately dirty upon arrival (hair in shower, toilet trees not refilled, trash). Was told that we received an upgrade, however, the upgraded view was the parking lot. Housekeeping did come and tidy up the room. Restaurant for breakfast was subpar, equivalent to the Fairfield Inn that we stayed at in Tampa the day prior. Although categorized as a resort, spa was unavailable and no kids activities throughout the day. As a loyal Marriott member (titanium status), we asked for late check out. We were informed that they do not honor Marriott loyalty status levels as they are a “resort property.” We have not experienced this lack of service and upkeep at other properties. We will not be returning. Luckily there are multiple other properties up to the Marriott standards within the area (do yourself a favor and stay at the Marriott across the street, or the JW).…
Our recent stay was good! We traveled for the Clearwater Running Festival which was held right next door to the resort. It was a bit pricey for our three night stay but the convenience was worth it. We ate at the on-site bar the first two nights (highly recommend the nachos) and got the buffet breakfast each morning. Our room was clean but the bathrooms are very tight. The view we had overlooked Clearwater city and caught the sunrise but you kind of have to look past the not so pretty roof of the building below. The heated outdoor pool and hottub were amazing and other amenities included beach lounge chairs, volleyball, cornhole and I huge fitness center on the 9th floor. The concierge was extremely helpful and we were able to purchase our aquarium tickets right at the resort. We are already planning our trip for next year, this time with the whole family!…
