The Palm Pavilion Inn on Clearwater Beach is lauded for offering clean, comfortable accommodations with stunning beach views, despite some calls for carpet updates and concerns over the absence of an elevator. The hotel's atmosphere, with live music and a beachside vibe, resonates well with guests, as does the prime location near quieter beach spots.
While the pool and furnishings could see some enhancements, the value is often highlighted, with reasonable pricing and discounts for returning guests. Service at the Palm Pavilion earns high marks for staff friendliness and efficiency.

Detailed Reviews
Had a comfortable stay for one night at Palm Pavilion Inn. Stayed in a standard hotel room with King bed on the second floor, east side of building (view out the window was of the building next door). Room was clean, quiet, bedding was good quality with plenty of pillows, tiled shower, soft towels, and nice toiletries. Internet was slow to connect with the password, but once connected was good. When I opened the closet door, the closet had a stale smell so chose instead to hang my clothes on the hooks that were outside of the closet on the wall, this worked for me. There is an easy to adjust a/c unit with digital controls under the room window. Coffee is available in the lobby in the morning and light breakfast snack type food, no coffee maker in the room, but there is a refrigerator. I chose this hotel for it's location, just a few steps away from the beach. This is an older hotel and while I knew there was no elevator, the stairway in back from the parking lot is very narrow. There are complimentary beach/pool towels available for use in the lobby area. The rooftop has chairs and would be good for watching the sunset or sunrise. The location is convenient for walking on the street or the beach to the pier.

This is the hidden gem of Clearwater Beach. The location is perfect for walking the beach or to walk to many of the great beach restaurants. Our room was clean and well maintained. The kitchenette was well stocked with utensils, plates, cups etc. there wasn’t anything that we were lacking. We were able to prepare a light breakfast and snacks in the kitchenette. The pool area was spotless and had an adequate amount of chairs. The staff was warm and friendly, something that you don’t get at the big name hotels. We’re already plotting our return trip.

My husband and I had a one night getaway here and it was perfect for us! It is a quiet hotel ON the beach and a little north of the huge public parking areas, so less crowded as well. The location is with walking distance (3 min) to Frenchys on the beach, plus the hotel restaurant is also beach side and delicious!
If you're looking for a hotel with sweeping views of the beach from your room, this isn't it. But the room is clean, and the location is great. And the price is even better.

My wife and I and another couple stayed at the Palm Pavilion between Christmas and New Years. The hotel was small but very clean. The staff were very friendly, helpful and professional. And the location was great; VERY close to beach (40 feet?) within walking distance to many restaurants yet enough away from congestion. It is also just a 2 block walk to the Clearwater Ferry stop. They have a small but nice outdoor roof top deck. Free parking is very convenient. They have a large bar and grill next to the hotel which has good food and service. Downsides; there are no elevators. Make sure you get a room on the first floor, the pool is VERY small and across parking lot and not so great for kids. Overall were happy and go to this hotel again.

What a great place to stay! Quick walk to the widest, whitest, most beautiful beach we have been to. This pleasant 1950's built hotel (no elevator) is perfectly preserved and updated in the crucial areas. AC unit worked great, show was modern and a lot of pressure to wash away sand, salt and sunscreen. Hotel staff was very friendly and accommodating. The morning coffee bar was so good. The coffee was very flavorful and the breakfast snacks and condiments were very welcome. The free beach towel service was perfect as were the beach umbrellas, chairs and beach huts that you could rent and charge to your room. Several evenings we sat outside on the front porch and played cards. Because the Inn is on a very popular public beach access, the people watching was incredible with vintage cars, Maseratis, jacked up Mustangs and minivans with loads of families. The beach itself was very diverse and chill.
The Pavilion next door was a lot of fun with good music, good drinks, great staff and they had food too.
The North Beach area has several easily walkable restaurants that are good. (Frenchy's with their grouper sandwich, Sekushi with their sizzling edamame, to name a couple). You can pick up the free trolley close by and walk a couple of blocks to pick up the Clearwater Ferry to be transported to Dunedin (highly recommended) and to Clearwater downtown. The ferry was scenic, enjoyable and we saw dolphins on the way back.
All in all, it was a fantastic trip, made more memorable by the remarkable character and staff of the Palm Pavilion Inn.

Our group had an excellent stay at The Palm Pavilion! We went down there for some research (I'm a Travel Agent) and some relaxation. We chose The Palm Pavilion due to its location and an on-site restaurant and we were not disappointed! In an area that seems to constantly update and grow, this is a little peace of the old, quieter Clearwater Beach. You can walk to the beach or sit on the patio of their restaurant to look out at the water. The building is historical but well maintained and their pool was a great place to relax when we were tired of the beach. The upstairs rooftop patio was a great place to watch the sunset in the evening. Every person we interacted with was helpful and always had a smile. We will definitely be back and I will recommend this to my clients, as well!

Great "staycation" for my husband and me on a beautiful weekend at the beach. We are locals who are already fans of the Palm Pavilion restaurant and were curious about the cute little hotel behind the restaurant. Finally got a chance to try it out and we were so happy we did! The staff is awesome, very friendly and helpful. Our room was clean and the air conditioner wasn't obnoxiously loud like it is at some of the much more expensive hotels we have stayed at. The bed was comfy, and the whole place smells clean and fresh. Parking is FREE (very unusual for the beach!) and the beach is steps away. There is an observation deck at the top of the hotel which was great for relaxing and watching the sunset while listening to the live music from the restaurant below. We will definitely be returning on a regular basis!

Although this hotel is older, it maintains a very high level of hospitality. it is very clean, and in a very good location right in the sand of Clearwater Beach. you can walk to just about anywhere you want to for restaurants and night spots, and it is close to the trolley stop if you need it. They have an onsite restaurant and gift shop as well. You can rent umbrellas and chairs for 2 hours or for the entire day till 5PM. We would definitely stay here again.

My wife and I have been to Clearwater on numerous occasions and always wanted to stay at the Palm Pavilion. Given we had a one-day stay in the area, we wanted to make the most of it and reserved a room at the Palm Pavilion with a Gulf view. The location of the Palm was perfect for us given its proximity to the restaurants and shops we wanted to visit during the trip. The best feature was undoubtedly being just a few steps to the beach (can't beat the free parking for guests at the beach). Be sure to ask about the roof top since the view is even better than the room since you can clearly see over the restaurant.

Couldn’t be in better location if you want to be steps away from the white-sand beach! There were towels, umbrellas and chairs for guests to freely use; those were really convenient, and we used them a lot! Room was great. Everyone employee we talked to was really friendly and helpful. We tried the restaurant and I was blown away by how tasty the wasabi scallops were. They came out piping hot and perfectly cooked. We also shared their rice bowl with blackened salmon, salad, and the kids had chicken tenders. Everything was delicious! Would love to go back and stay longer!!
