Detailed Reviews
The Blue Wave Motel was a joy from the moment we met the folks (ladies) that manage and take care of this place. This was our first time staying there and rest assured when we return to Clearwater Beach we will be contacting them first. You can tell they care about the upkeep of each room as well as their guests.
Parking is free and one short block from the main activity road at the beach. The AC in the bedroom can freeze you out if that is what you like. Sure beats the heck out of an AC that doesn’t work well in Florida.
There aren’t any bars that stay open late around the motel, which is a good thing for a quiet nights rest. Both Walgreens and CVS are about a block and half away.
The only thing I can think of that you will need is an adapter for the wall outlets. They are all two prong. They do have some adapters if you forget to bring some or need one.
Sure you can stay at one of the branded hotels on Clearwater Beach, but paying $300 or more a night plus parking fee is not how the missus and I roll. We are up at 6am and walking the beach, enjoying the peaceful time on the sand and winging the rest of the day. We do not stay in a hotel room. Actually the best time at the beach is when it’s very cloudy and maybe even a lite rain. You can and will burn your skin in an hour with full sun in Florida.
Thank you to the ladies that are the... Blue Wave !

I would highly recommend Blue Waves Motel it is the perfect home away from home. The condo it’s self was very clean, furnished with everything you would need, and comfortable. The bed and shower were amazing! It is the perfect location walking distance to everything. Rodney and Gale were some of the nicest people you’ll ever meet. Rodney is so knowledgeable about Clearwater and gave great suggestions about good food and places to go. They provide you with everything you’ll need for a great day at the beach towels, chairs, cooler, ice, toys, and bikes. Rodney told us when people come to stay at Blue Waves all they want them to have to pack is a suit, some shorts, and flip flops he truly meant it. We were well taken care of and will definitely be back!

When my wife found the Blue Wave on a website I was slightly skeptical. We were planning a last minute trip to visit my grandmother nearby.
I'm glad I let my wife talk me into staying here. Everything was well cared for and clean. The location, just two blocks from the beach, was fantastic. Everyone was super friendly and helpful. the office had just about anything you could need (coolers, chairs, umbrellas, towels, even sunscreen) for a day at the beach. Almost every morning as we walked downstairs someone asked us what they could get us.
Anything you could need is within a few blocks. The beach is two blocks away and the pier is a 5 minute walk.
Probably the most relaxing stay I've had anywhere in 20 years.
Most of the people we talked to were repeat customers. We would not hesitate to stay again and actually plan to in the near future.

This is such a wonderful place. Within walking to beach and Pier 60. Great amenities--kitchen and everything you need for the beach. Everyone was super friendly and very helpful. We stayed in a room with a separate bedroom and sofa bed in the living room. There was a tv in each of the rooms. Free parking at the motel. We loved it!

You can walk to the beach in a few minutes. There are plenty of places to eat nearby. The owner is supper friendly and even gave our kids candy for Easter. They are also on top of any issue that might arise. The 2nd floor patio is also a plus. Great spot for families.

+1
My husband booked this trip for my birthday and chose this place due to location. Vrbo messed up and sent us here instead of the original place. Not sure how this place gets great reviews. It looks cute on the web site. The place is tight and cramped. The furniture is nasty and needs updated. I hated to even sleep on what I say is the most uncomfortable bed. Julia in the office was great and the cleaning crew was nice. If they would get new furniture this place would be better. They also should take some attention to the base boards which is covered in dirt. Maybe they are in process. The location can't be beat tho. Literally blocks from anything. Also took a sheet out of thr closet and didn't realize it had urine stains on it and the pull out mattress on the couch had old blood on it. I would not stay here again.

My teenage daughter & I stayed here on 08/12-8/14/11 & I am so glad we did. Excellent location. Not on the beach but a couple of blocks from the beach. Everything was within walking distance right in the hub of all the activities. And completely safe for my daughter & I to walk at night. We meet both Managers, Gail & Rodney & they are the friendliest people. They do everything they can to make your stay enjoyable. Also while we were there out of all their rooms but ours & one other were occupied by returning customers. Once you find this gem, you won't go anywhere else. The rooms were very clean & updated. They go beyond the call of customer service. I will never look for another place to stay while in Clearwater Beach area...this is like a little home away from home. The Motel also has an assortment of beach chairs, umbrellas, toys for building sand castles & the body board we left because we were flying home....Enjoy! Suggestions for your trip, hit the Publix Grocery store for food, they close at 9pm, before you get to beach area, I think they are on Island Way just about 1 mile before you get to the beach. Make a right. There is really only a CVS in the actual beach area.
If you eating out good places are Clear Sky restaurant & Crabby Bills, were they will take your photo & make a key chain memory for $6.00.
We didn't go on Pier 60, but opted for sitting on sand watching the most beautiful sunsets I have ever seen. We will be back! Wish I was there now!

My family just returned from a two night stay at the Blue Wave Motel in Clearwater. We had wanted to stay in a place close to Pier 60 since our daughter was playing in a volleyball tournament near that location. After spending a couple of hours checking out (very high) prices at places like the Hyatt and Hilton, we happened upon the site for the Blue Wave. My family had never stayed at a "Mom and Pop" type of establishment before so we were putting our trust in the pictures and description shown online.
Upon our arrival at the Blue Wave, we met a gentleman named Rodney. He was a very friendly guy who immediately made us feel welcomed. He showed us a couple of different "family rooms" that included a small kitchen with full size appliances and a small table with 4 chairs, and a granite countertop. The living area had a pull-out sofa, chair with ottoman and a decent sized t.v. The bathroom was nicely decorated and the bedroom had a queen size bed. The entire room seemed to have been nicely renovated. The bottom line...we were very please with the room and its terrific location (we could walk to Pier 60 easily). The only small issue was the AC unit was located in the bedroom (which made sleeping great), since it didn't cool the remainder of the unit as much as it cooled the bedroom. This was NOT a big deal since the other rooms seemed to get enough air to stay at a comfortable temperature and the living area had a ceiling fan.
I would high recommend a "family room" at the Blue Wave to any small family looking for a clean, comfortable place, at a very reasonable price, that is close to Pier 60 and beautiful Clearwater Beach. They even have beach chairs, toys, etc. for guests to use at the beach free of charge. The fact that Rodney was there to make sure we had everything we needed and even asked how the volleyball tournament was going made our stay even more enjoyable.....thanks Rodney! We will definitely be back the next time we plan a trip to Clearwater Beach.

Hi! Is it realistic to take an Uber from the Tampa airport to the motel and then walk to everything?
If you are staying on Clearwater beach you won't need a car.
Rodney or Gayle will be able to help you with this. Such nice people! It's been 4 months since I have been there and I still know their name. You know you got great service when you remember their names.
Our building is professionally sprayed weekly. We have not had any history or problems with pest control.
