The Hyatt Regency Clearwater Beach Resort & Spa is celebrated for its beachfront location and range of amenities, including a pool with live music and innovative room keys. However, some guests have voiced concerns over safety and noise, particularly from nearby live music and bars. While the spacious rooms are generally well-regarded, there are mentions of outdated decor and occasional noise issues. Cleanliness is a strong point, yet some inconsistencies are noted. Despite the friendly staff, opinions on value and service are mixed, with high costs and additional fees sometimes overshadowing the experience.

As a Globalist I have high expectations for every Hyatt I stay at..which is several throughout the year for our 3 companies. We consistently return to the Clearwater Hyatt Regency because the service level of the entire team is outstanding! We have converted from Marriott to Hyatt mostly because of this one property doing such a great job and are moving our Florida based operations to use this resort whenever I go there. I have frequented this property for both business and vacation and have recommended it to many others. If you want a great stay and an excellent experience book experience book your trip to the Hyatt Regency Clearwater.

Stayed the week between Christmas and New Years. Temps were luckily in the mid-70's so we could enjoy the beach and pool.
Hotel was clearly very full, but the staff handled it relatively well. The lobby was busy but it's so large (over two floors) that it never felt crowded.
The pool was nice. The water could have been warmer, but we could swim for a little bit. The sun wasn't on most of the pool in the afternoon, but you could find some some on the end near the overlook to the beach. The pool area had great food for being poolside and the tables in the pool area overlooked the beach. The pool also had a great view of the sunset. Only complaint is the pool area was on the crowded side and they ran of towels in the afternoon; this is likely related to being there in a busy time period. they did restock eventually but it took a while.
Room was nice and large for a single hotel room (stayed in the 2 Queens, partial view).
Room was on the North side (I think). Great views to the left (beach) and to the right (harbor). Looking straight, just saw the condo building across from the hotel. Nice to have a balcony but we didn't sit on it that much because it never got sun and also there was a loud hum of a/c units or whatever even though we were high up on the 12th floor. If this kind of room exists facing the other way it might get more sun and not have the A/C unit hum sound.
Housekeeping was a little inconsistent about coming (one day they didn't get to our room until 4:30pm, when we had already returned for the day) and they seemed to inconsistently collect trash, give the two bottles of water, etc. I think they were a bit overwhelmed with how full the hotel was.
Great location, close to lots of restaurants to walk to. Also great to be right across from the beach. Beach towels are available for free at the large pink hut/shop by giving room number. It was easy to get an umbrella and chairs for the day ($30) in the first or second row when we got down before 11am. Once when we didn't get down until noon it was a little harder to find one to rent and we had to rent a cabana in the 3rd row for $40. Getting down at 10am the beach was pretty empty, which was very peaceful. You can bring your own umbrella, etc. if you don't want to rent, but with flying and only being there for a few days, the rental seemed easier.
Would stay again, just beware that the pool and beach get a bit crowded on those popular weeks.

My nieces and I stayed at the Hyatt Regency in Clearwater Beach, Florida in August 2019. The staff was very friendly, helpful and accommodating. The rooms are spacious, well-appointed and modern. Our room on the 8th floor had a breathtaking view of the ocean especially during sunsets. The resort is across the street from the beach. The beach is absolutely beautiful. You can rent cabanas at a reasonable cost and charge it to the room. The resort is in a perfect location near the Pier in addition to many restaurants and shopping that you can walk to in 15 minutes or less. At the end of our stay, since our flight was in the evening, the hotel held our luggage and even put our left over food in the refrigerator until we were ready to leave for the airport. Indeed a very nice touch. I would definitely come back to this resort again if I am ever in the Clearwater Beach area.

Pros: The hotel is centrally located in Clearwater Beach so is close to the soft sandy beach. This hotel features kitchens which are difficult to find in this central location. The 2 bedroom gulf view room is spacious and we found all areas to be clean. The beds were extremely comfortable and the linens were very nice. When the balcony door is shut, it drowned out any road noise. Cons: This hotel is noisy between 10am-10pm if you have a room facing the gulf or the pool. There is a road between the hotel and the beach so you hear cars sometimes playing loud music. In addition, there is music playing at the pool most of the day which drowns out any ocean sound with the addition of live music on the weekends at restaurant facing the gulf which is even louder. So, consider your pick between a nice view with noise, or not so great view and more quiet. The A/C units are in each room so we had fan and compressor noise when it was trying to cool the room . This cannot be helped because of this chose design for cooling. Lastly, this hotel might be great for a large families with children. At the price of the room (way high) for 2 people to stay, this hotel was not a great choice. Overall, this was our first time to this area so did not know about all of the road noise. In the future, we will opt to stay further away from this central area.

I stayed at this resort with my family for 2 weeks recently. The only reason I didn’t leave prior to the 2 weeks is because I just didn’t want to deal with the trouble of moving.

PROS:
•Right on the beach (and great views)
•Staff are friendly
•Hotel looks nice
•Nice pool

CONS:
You generally have to ask for what you want - it’s not just given e.g. even if you have a full kitchen the maid will only wash dishes or pots and pans if she isn’t in a rush even though the manager (Jessica) told me they should do it daily as a matter of rule.
•They have a serious problem with their key card system. Out of the 2 weeks I stayed there, I had to get my card re-authorized 10 times -sometimes multiple times on the same day for either my room or the parking garage.
•One day it took 40 minutes to get a breakfast made.
•In one week, there were errors in one of my family member’s order 5 days out of 7
•One day the room service never came to do the room until after 5 pm. The next day they just left towels for the bathroom on the kitchen counter instead of putting them in the bathroom.
•All of the above CAN happen in any hotel occasionally. But this all happened during ONE STAY. And at a high priced resort where the customer is spending thousands of dollars I might add! The manager offered to put 2 days of points back on my loyalty account but I’d have trouble returning for more of this.

First, the Hyatt is in a great location and because of that can charge a bit of a premium. Unfortunately, this hotel charges way too much for what you get. We rented a premium room with a kitchenette, a balcony, and the water view for 6 nights. The room was very large but furnished and decorated austerely. The kitchen materials were also scant. Don't plan on trying to cook much of anything here. There's a frying pan and a small sauce pan and a few dishes to eat off of. And as we used those dishes, the staff would take them away and by the time we left our dish and utensil selection dwindled. The most irritating thing, however, was the room service. They never re-supplied, toilet paper (never left a spare), tissues, soap, body soap and frequently would not replenish wash cloths or the shower mat. It was so bizarre! Each day we would get back to our room and have to call down to the front desk to have certain things delivered. I stopped tipping after a few days as this was really annoying and poor service. It really was unacceptable for a hotel room that cost over $420/night (closer to $500 with all the fees). Finally, be warned that the elevators here are painfully slow. You will spend a lot of time waiting for elevators.

On a positive note, every staff person we encountered was very friendly and positive.

I would not recommend this hotel unless you got some deal in the $200-$275 range.

Decided on a last minute vacation to Clearwater and chose Hyatt. I got a 2 bedroom with gulf views which ran $520 a night. The hotel prices in Clearwater are high but the food/drink for most of the establishments are reasonably priced.

Our 2 bedroom had a full kitchen but did not have utensils, plates, glasses as advertised.

House cleaning needed to be summoned daily or else they would not show up.

On the last day, we had breakfast at the hotel restaurant and it was short staffed with horrible service. I spoke with manager and he comped our meal. I was grateful but as a frequent traveler, I don't mind spending on our meals. I just would like good customer service. I understand the hotel was probably short staffed after reopening recently after the Covid lockdown but it was still disappointing.

The hotel views are excellent but it was obvious that they were not equipped to handle the large crowds after opening from the pandemic.

If social distancing worries you, this is not the place for you. The beaches were busy and the most of the guests did not follow the hotel's health signs or suggestions.

I will give the Hyatt in Clearwater a second chance again. Maybe by the time we get to the new normal they would have worked out their shortage of staff which caused poor customer service.

It was so nice to escape and relax on Clearwater Beach at the Grand Hyatt. I loved having yoga in the morning with Crystal. I wish they would have offered it everyday! The location of the hotel is perfect, you can walk to restaurants, shopping, jet ski or boat rentals and gorgeous water/ sunset views!! Our room was spacious for my family of four. The only issue was I had to call many times to get housekeeping services to come to the room and one day they didn’t come at all. But understanding that this is a difficult time I think the hotel did a good job!

This hotel is one of the cleanest I’ve ever been in. All the food presentations are done professionally employees are exceptionally good at what they do and I cannot express how clean this hotel is you will be amazed. Pricing is very fair for the area had a great time I would suggest this venue for any vacation needs there is cheaper hotels in the area.. but this hotel is one of the best places to stay dollar for dollar..... location location location ..... Thank you very much I had a great weekend!!!!!

We had a great time here. The location is perfect. The staff was great. The room was spacious and very comfortable. There are some kitchen utensils in the room if you plan to do some light meal. There is a washer and drier machine in each floor that is very convenient and you only need to bring the detergent. The pool area is small but it looks nice. Hotel provides beach towels. The hotel offers the option to full room service if you want, but We only asked for changing towels and water. They did it every day . Parking was very easy and it cost $25 per day. We highly recommend the hotel.

Are beach towels provided?
Answer from Eric D
Yes beach towels are provided. You have to get them on the second floor were you can get coffee and snacks and elevators are right down the hall to get to the outside. If you have to use the bathroom when you on the beach you have to go back to the same floor you got the towels in that area, bathrooms are in that hallway. There is no other bathrooms except in a restaurant or in your room.
