Everything thing was great, from customer service, food, and the room. Friendly staff in every area of the hotel, the food was delicious, rooms very spacious and clean. Also many activities for the whole family. It was such a great vacation for us.
As a Globalist I have high expectations for every Hyatt I stay at..which is several throughout the year for our 3 companies. We consistently return to the Clearwater Hyatt Regency because the service level of the entire team is outstanding! We have converted from Marriott to Hyatt mostly because of this one property doing such a great job and are moving our Florida based operations to use this resort whenever I go there. I have frequented this property for both business and vacation and have recommended it to many others. If you want a great stay and an excellent experience book experience book your trip to the Hyatt Regency Clearwater.
While the hotel itself is very nice, we felt incredibly unsafe at this location. We visited in mid-March with a family of 4 (two children ages 10 and 7 with us). This is not an appropriate location for children. While everything seemed fine during the day, there was a disturbing amount of crime at night. While we were there, there was a murder in the Surf Shop that is next to the Hyatt. I realize that bad things can happen anywhere, but we quickly realized that this was not a one-off occurrence. Several other nights of our stay involved police cars with lights and sirens all around the area and parked outside of the building with groups of people all around. People who were not guests were trying to get into the hotel. The parking garage is shared with public beach parking, and the night of the shooting in the store, we had to park our car in the garage and it was a terrifying experience with our children. Groups of people who were clearly up to no good were crowded everywhere, in the elevators, etc. I did not see any additional security at the Hyatt when we re-entered the parking garage. I understand that this is Spring Break time; however, these issues were not from a college spring break crowd looking to have a wild time - this was a legit crime issue that took place for multiple nights of our stay. Additionally, two of the days of our stay there was drilling on the same floor parking garage that made staying in our room unbearable. It started at 8:30AM and went all day long. We did address with the manager at the front desk as to why we had not been notified. She did help us by making an adjustment on our bill; however, upon further inspection of our bill, the credit we received is not what we had discussed, so now I am having to go back to Hyatt after the fact to have our bill adjusted and waiting for a response. As for service, we were able to get into our room earlier than check-in time, which we appreciated. There was some mold in the shower (probably not completely uncommon for FL, so I can overlook that) and we had requested extra pillows prior to our stay via a concierge who texted us in advance. The pillows were not there when we arrived and we had to request them two additional times before receiving the pillows. Not the biggest deal in the world, but if you specifically have someone who is asking if there's anything you need prior to your stay, I would expect that request is fulfilled.…
Lots of noise untill way past midnight. Surprised the rooms didn't block sound better. Food in the restaurant downstairs was pricey but tasty. If you inconvenience customers during check in by rooms not being ready on time, you should compensate guests with complimentary drinks at your bar/restaurant, or offer late check out to compensate.
This is a home away from home that exceeds expectations. But the layout feel and logistics of Hyatt is next level. The flamingo pink (quintessential Florida) pool, steps to the beach, activities and service of staff is what makes Clearwater so memorable for us. We love staying here as a family, watching the sunset from the Hyatt balcony and relaxing. Thank you Hyatt!
The hotel is in a great area. It is very walkable to all bars and restaurants. It is not necessary to rent a car if you are staying at this hotel. It was nice to have a full refrigerator in the room as we got drinks and snacks from the market next door. The bed was super comfy also!!
We spent two nights here, and it was a really nice stay. As indicated by the many other reviews, it's a beautiful property with great service. The beach is very nice, and the reasonable resort fee ($35) covers a beach umbrella, two chairs, and towels for a full day. The 8th floor pool and cantina are also really nice---the cantina is great for lunch and drinks, with nice views. We had two breakfasts and one dinner at the main restaurant (Shor), and food and service were fine. Our 15th floor oceanview two queen room was very large and had a kitchenette. Good sunset views from the room's verandah. Overall, we were very impressed. Some beach hotels have an unfriendly vibe, but this one had friendly staff and a comfortable vibe. We were happy to see that the daily resort fee was not just an add-on to get more revenue, but was actually more than worth it (covered the beach rentals, free bikes, free drinks, pool snacks, etc.). Our only issue was not really the hotel's fault. We got there on a lovely late Sunday afternoon---not a good time to be checking in to a beach hotel. It took us 40 minutes to get over the bridge from downtown Clearwater to the beach. Then we followed the road which was the hotel's street address, only to find out that the check-in and parking garage entrance was on another parallel street. There was a one mile long line of cars (locals) leaving the beach on this wrong road, and it took us another 15 minutes to get turned around and back to the right street. The parking garage is a public one, and it was a veritable zoo of cars leaving and entering---a traffic jam. So I was pretty frustrated upon check-in. Sensing this, the desk clerk comped us for the $27 daily parking charge for both days of our stay. And from there things were just fine for our stay. It might be a good idea for the hotel to emphasize in the room confirmation how to access the hotel if you're driving. …
Great resort! I would normally not want to stay at a resort across the street from the beach instead of on the water. However, the views are still beautiful and the crosswalk to the beach is not an inconvenience. The hotel provides 2 beach chairs which is a huge plus! Definitely recommend!
Excellent venue and amenities at this facility. Will definitely recommend to others and will visit again in the near future. What more can I say other than the hotel had very helpful staff and the environment was clean.
This was my 5th stay in about 10 years. I already look forward to my 6th stay. I think value is commensurate with the price paid for what you get. This hotel is a great location, so many things to do withing a .5 mile walk. This year we stayed in a 2 Queen Beds Gulf View, Balcony, Premium. 900 sq ft. We even put a rollaway in the room for $21 per night and we still had more than ample space. It didn't cramp things at all. The full kitchen was nice, we didn't use the stove but we didi make use of the full size refrigerator and the coffee maker. K-cup coffee pods are supplied and you can as for more if you are a 2 cup per day person. Bathrooms are very large with 2 sinks. Bar seating with 3 chairs. Balcony was nice and large. Our front view was the propery next door, to the left ocean, to the right the marina across the way. We have stayed in Gulf Front Suites before, those of course have a front view of the ocean. On the ground floor ocean side, although not part of the hotle, there is a great pizza place, ice cream shop, burger restaurant and next door a surf shop and a market with everything you could need food and kitchen wise. It's only half a miles walk to many diffferent restuarnts and activites such as dolphin watching, etc... You get what you pay for and that is why I think this is a good value. Not inexpensive, but a really good value for what you are paying. …
