We loved this place! Staff was so friendly and helpful. Special thanks to Mark and Phil who helped me with an after hours electrical issue. Would definitely stay again. Make sure you enter through the main gate on Hwy 318!
Poor management reflects on everything, unkept grounds, filthy restrooms, rude workers. Times like this, things should be very clean. The park has potential, a strong friendly manager would be a breath of fresh air. Capt. Harper
We just returned to Ohio after renting a park model for a week to visit family. The 9 hole golf course is great, the employees and people in the park are great. The 2 major problems are that we had roaches in our rental and the wi-fi might as well be non-existent. When the issue of the roaches was brought up we were told that they hired a new exterminator and it would be taken care of within the month. No offer of traps, spraying or anything else. A kind neighbor sprayed for us but that didn’t take care of the problem. For patrons needing internet access, you’d better bring your own. We might return, we might not.
Some of our group stay in our RV's and rent a site for the weekend and most stay in the rental cabins. We started visiting Grand Lake roughly 8 years ago and we visit twice a year - in the Spring and Fall. We started out with just four guys staying in my camper and we are up to 20 guys now and we will continue to visit Grand Lake as long as the wonderful staff can tolerate us! All kidding aside, we love Grand Lake and there is isn't another RV and Golf Resort we'd rather visit. The staff are simply the best and so accommodating to our needs. The Eagle's Nest Cafe is awesome and the golf course if just perfect for our group. Fran is just amazing to work with!! The Grand Lake Golf Group.
I needed a place to stay while working in the area away from my home. Initially, I expected to stay only a month or two while I found a furnished apartment. However, I was so impressed with the park overall, my cottage (not only super clean, but also well furnished), the amenities and the staff, I stayed at Grand Lake the entire time I worked in the area (nearly three years). I can't say enough good things about Fran; she was kind, friendly and professional and went out of her way to help me. If I'm ever back in the area, I will definitely be staying at Grand Lake!
We were in a crunch to find a campground because of previous plans being cancelled. Surprisingly Grand Lakes had an opening for 2 nights. We took it hoping for another couple of nights coming available. Lo and behold the next morning Fran the wonder lady called me and told me 2 nights had opened up but we would have to move, no problem. Well upon arrival we stopped at the gate to get our lot assignment and a fellow came up and offered to show us to our lot. Great Guy and did not have to do that. I was appreciated very much. This is a very nice and clean property with great amenities. Evidenced by the number of people that return to this property year after year.
Our stay here has been just as pleasant as Fran’s voice was over the phone prior to us landing here. We started out at a park/resort nearby but our accommodations were not met on the first night, nor did the park have any means or intentions of doing so. I called Grand Lake the very next day (not realizing my wife had pointed it out as we passed it the previous day), and spoke with Fran, and later on Patty. They had immediate spots to chose from and we settled down here. I appreciate how Grand Lake facilitates our needs for the internet by “allowing” providers to bring in service to each lot and not pretending for us to use the resort’s wi-fi, unlike the other places. We have everything we need here, including the positive and welcoming attitudes and smiles whenever I go up front. The positive attitudes, care, sincerity, and concerns have never faltered. You know how some businesses and establishments get you and hook you and then turn on you once you’re “in”? That has not been the case here at Grand Lake. Fran was our first POC on the front line, and she is just as kind in person. Patty is always aiming to please us if there is anything awry or not quite right. GeGe and Sophi are always willing to go the distance for us as well. Sure, we’ve had issues since we’ve been here, but nothing that warrants us to pick up and relocate, as the staff, to include maintenance, is always on their game. This is our first time “outdoors” so to speak, but my wife and I are happy campers.…
This park is beautiful, clean, and has excellent amenities. I’m here while working away from home. The staff are accommodating, professional and kind, especially Fran. I’m so happy I found Grand Lake RV for my stay away from home!! The neighbors are nice and the restaurant is a great benefit overlooking the lake.
My wife and I have stayed both short-term and long-term at several Sun Properties over the last few years. Grand Lakes is one of their best-maintained properties. Staff is very friendly, but Fran is by far the best. We came in with a three-month reservation, but as we settled in Fran made several attempts to offer us a one-year lease at discounted rates after my wife inquired about the opportunities. She was not pressuring us at all. When we finally decided to take her up on the offer, Fran wasn't working in the office that day. We only hope that she was either credited with the sale, or given compensation for her hard work and dedication.
This may be one of our favorite RV resorts so far. We had a great paved lot, with all paved roads. Our friends were staying in a park model that was quite adequate. I would certainly look into that if I’m bringing other people. There’s a lake for fishing, a golf course and a restaurant on the premises. Who could ask for more? My husband and I ate at the Eagles Nest Bar & Grill. Erin was our server and she was awesome! I had fried fish and my husband had the grilled fish. And our meals were wonderful. There were two outdoor seating areas, one screened in and one open. It was raining that night so we were able to sit outside in the screened in patio and have our cocktails and our meal on a Friday night. That was the kick off of our trip, and I’m glad we started there. We were unable to partake in all of the amenities but there’s always the next time, because there WILL DEFINITELY be a next time. We highly recommend this resort. We were very impressed.…
