I enjoyed my trip to Chokoloskee last week and our stay at the Parkway Motel was one of the highlights. The owners are very polite and professional and will help you with things to do in the area. Room was very clean also.
My husband and I enjoyed our stay at the Parkway Hotel and Marina in Chokoloskee, Florida. Delightful, spacious, and bright room. Room was spic and span clean and had all conveniences to make us feel right at home. The owners were friendly and so helpful, giving us tips on a beautiful pole boat tour in the Everglades and good places to eat. We enjoyed a glass of wine at the table and chairs outside of our room and watched the sunset. The sunset was also visible from their marina, very pretty!
I think that the other reviews I've looked at sum it all up perfectly. This is the perfect place for a home base to explore the western Everglades, Big Cypress Preserve and the Fakahatchee Strand Preserve. I had a very comfortable, clean room in the motel that is located in a beautiful setting. I found the owners to be laid back and friendly. Thanks Bill and Geri.
We found a wonderful looking Kayak tour in the Everglades (Jenny's Eco Tours, also highly recommended) and looked for accommodation close by. We're so pleased we found this place. We stayed in the cottage, two comfortable bedrooms, a double and twin, two bathrooms, ideal when travelling with teens, decent wifi considering the location and immaculately clean. We let ourselves in following a sign left for us on arrival and didn't see anyone until we went to check out two days later. It felt very cosy and dare I say old fashioned, but in a charming not in a bad way. Having stayed in smart hotels and resorts until that part of our trip we found it authentic and real. Primarily a base for fishermen having the marina and boat tours available. If you're looking for super smart or super modern then this is not the place for you. If you're looking for an incredibly clean, well equipped, welcoming, comfortable and homely base then we'd highly recommend it. We did both a fantastic private kayak tour of the Mangroves and a fun airboat tour both close by and it really added to our whole experience of the contrasts to be had in Florida. One side effect of the devastating effects of Hurricane Irma on the region was the absence of Mosquitos. We'd gone prepared with jungle strength Deet but hardly saw a mozzie. We had low expectations of the entrance to the park having read other reviews but we found it absolutely fine.…
Very clean little room. Tucked away in Chokoloskee. Adorable room and large bath and comfortable beds. We took an overnight/day trip via Rt 41 If you want to airboat, fish or kayak, there are plenty of places to find what you need. The hotel doesn't have a restaurant and if you go after May 1, all but 2 of the restaurants are closed. One closes at 5 and the other at 10 so eat early or prepare to drive! The sunsets are beyond belief. There is a nice list of things to do in the room.
