Lady was very nice at check-in and gave my wife and I a very nice room. The first night went well, but the second night we were awaken by knocking at are door at 12:30 AM. I got up from the bed to check the peep hole to see no one so I layed back down. Then a few minutes later I was awakened again by the neighbor throwing something at the adjoining door. I called the front desk and the lady informed me that she thought that the two men that were in the room was in the lobby when she came into work and said that they had looked as if they might be on something. She said she would take care of it. After awhile after that the people in the next room was trying to get through the adjoining door with some kind of card and sounded like some kind of tools. So I once again got up and looked and there was flashlights coming through the handle on door with the handle moving back and forth. So I called the lady at the front desk once again and informed her that the people were trying to break into our room, while my wife was terrified, the lady from the front desk said that she was not comfortable coming up to the adjoining room without the police. So I said you need the police because these people are trying to break into our room. So after awhile I heard the police take one of two male occupants out into the hall and tell him that if they continue to make noise that they will be escorted off the property. But neither the police or the front desk clerk never went inside room to investigate the breaking into our room complaint. Which was odd. After awhile the front desk clerk called me back and said that if they made any more noise to call her back and they would be kicked out. She also said that the manager said she could get us a different room if we wanted. Here it is 0100 AM and we didn't feel like we should have to move, if anyone had to move it should have been the criminals next to us... The next day I asked for some kind of compensation for a sleepless night. The lady at the front desk got permission from the manager to give us 10% off our bill which was very nice but really not worth the sleepless night we had.... We enclosed two pictures of the lock the criminals next to us took apart in the middle of the night.....…
Me and my girlfriend stayed here for a day. Very good customer service and very clean and sanitary room. The best part we think is we could get free delivery from Charley's pizza located at 1411 Jackson Ave, chipley Florida.
First impression: Feels safer than other some other hotels, not too much of a mold smell from the humidity. Breakfast: Average breakfast, fake eggs, make it yourself waffles, danishes, serial, most typical breakfast hotel food. Room: decent bed, however at first the bed was a little soggy from the humidity. Plenary of towels, decent TV, good air conditioning. SECURITY: No weird mirrors, nothing stands out as out of place, the door (wood) has a deadbolt and a secondary lock mechanism (not the best, sprightly loose screws) windows have no opening.
This was our 3rd visit to the Comfort Inn in Chipley, FL. It's a nice clean hotel. Convenient to I-10 and lots of restaurants and Walmart across the road. HOT breakfast is always good. Will stay again when we are in the area.
I have no idea what the other hotels are like in the area so I'm not sure if you get a better deal elsewhere or not. But for almost $200, the price was very high. The room was very nice and clean. The breakfast provided looked fine. I would probably try somewhere else for a cheaper room. Also we checked in at 5 pm and had to wait for a clean room which seemed odd. Another issue, was no one was at the front desk a large percentage of the time on the first day that we were there.
