As far as places to stay in Cedar Key, I think this place is great. Stayed in Cottage 1, which is closest to the water. There were suppose to be 3 of us staying so we wanted a Cottage with two beds. We ended up with only 2 of us going, which was great since the cabin is rather small.... More

Very quaint and friendly place to stay. We took advantage of the bikes and saw a lot of cedar key that way. Well kept rooms and very functional. A great place for a getaway with beautiful views and a close walk to local businesses. Great housekeeping staff and very accommodating.

From our first contact by phone the staff here was great, check in efficient, even an upgrade since we were there mid week and not busy. The Inn is older so there are some dated plumbing etc but was not a problem since it was clean, no smell and very tidy. Small quaint buildings, lots of space to roam about... More

Hubby, dog and I spent 4 nights here. I would give the experience 5 stars, except that our room #6 was adjacent to the office on the side, the courtyard in front, and the laundry room in the back. During office hours (9-5), it was noisy. We were not in the room for long during that time, but the walls... More

The staff is so friendly and the view so spectacular it is easy to overlook the room humidity, leaky shower and lack of room service. Overall, the room was too expensive for no closet, damp clothes and tiny shower. However, I rate "very good" due to the wonderful staff attitude and the safety factor.

Thank you for taking the time to write a review. Glad that you found our staff to be friendly. Sorry that you found our accommodation to be unsatisfactory and too expensive. The Faraway Inn was built in the late 1940's and we have to work with what was built. Unfortunately the increasing costs of property taxes, insurances and supplies needed... More

Although my cottage was a little worn around the edges and outdated as far furnishings, this just adds to the charm of this collection of cottages right on the Gulf of Mexico. You can watch the sunset from your porch or from the cover patio with swinging chairs and patio furniture. WiFi was spotty and the TV had limited channels,... More

A wonderful mix of fun and relaxation at this beachy hideaway. We were only able to stay for a night, but already have plans to come back for a week. Nice people, gorgeous sunsets, and calming Gulf waters.

Thank you for taking time to write a review for Faraway Inn. We look forward to your return visit. One night in Cedar Key is not enough. First, I want to say that the hospitality I received at the Faraway Inn really made my stay enjoyable. Juliette was the first face I saw after my drive from Tampa and she was there to greet me as soon as she heard my car door slam. She showed me around the grounds and to my room. My room was... More

We were looking to explore Florida off the beaten track and certainly fount it at Cedar Key. Hotel was quirky with great views and very dog friendly as was the whole town....we began to wonder where the children were! Great access to back pedal bikes to explore the area and a short walk to town. Very friendly local bar and... More

I've stayed here three times in 10 years. If it were less then 5 hours away, that number would be much, much higher. GREAT place for a long weekend, not enough in the town for a true vacation. I've never felt more welcome in any place I've ever stayed at. All are welcome. My dog, who mistrust strangers, was quickly... More

So incredibly awesome. We are glad you enjoyed your stay. Most importantly we are glad that we won over your girlfriend and your pup. We are so pleased that all of you felt comfortable, happy and welcome. We actually do have vacationers who stay for a week and even months. All of our activities are nature based though. Lots of...
