If you are looking for gravel pads 3 feet from a busy road with no pet area, this is your place. If you are looking for horrible customer service, this is your place. THIS IS NOT AN RV CAMPGROUND. It is someone's drunk idea of a place to party with an afterthought of a gravel pad for parking...
Not a place to be if it’s hot, like summertime. Limited parking for the paying customers and god forbid you want to visit town and come back later. If you’re heading to cedar key find a more modern hotel without so many rules. It’s more local crowd.
We had all five rooms rented and wish we had bought one of our RV's, because our overflow family had to stay in an AirB&B by the airport. The rooms are clean, with great beds (king size in 4) The big attraction here is the tiki bar which was lively throughout our stay. On Saturday night there is a live band. According to a friend who is a Cedar Key native, the best sunset in the community is right here. She was absolutely right. It is a short drive to the downtown and dock area of Cedar Key, but nothing is far away We were there from a Thursday to Sunday for a family event. None of us would hesitate to repeat our adventure here. We loved it!
This review is for the Tiki Bar only. We stopped in after Cedar Key trip..which is not worthy of the travel time. There were only a few people in the bar. My friends from Germany waited forEVER to get any drinks. Unique and funky construction made of recycled glass bottles, corks, windows etc. The bathrooms were very clean, however an alarming notice was posted on the wall about drink spiking.
we are staying at low key tiki bar. we splurged and spent the 80 a night to rv camp there. we were expecting to have a fun experience. the view is great. the time we were there was a new moon and the water was extremely low. mud as far as you can see. and of course it is stinky. i understand this. but this place was dead as a doornail right after sunset. they have a nice firepit in the lounge area and were told every night no bonfire. they only allow fires if they have a band? and they only have a band on Saturdays. so that leaves you nothing to do. the sunsets at 6:30 at night? not sure why i paid so much for so little? BORING!!!
Really unique little hotel (with only about 5 rooms) along with waterfront sites (about 9). Had great little tiki hut, which we enjoyed a few times. They had music on Saturday night and it got quite busy. Blood Mary's were amazing!!! Close to quaint little downtown Cedar Key. Thought rates were a little high for camping but great for unique camping experience.
This little tiki bar is just what I was looking for! Reminds me of Key West in the ‘80’s. So much character and charm. The women running the place were friendly and made the most amazing Bloody Marys I’ve ever seen. Delicious! It was a drink and a meal in a glass. Great hidden hangout and totally worth searching for. Come for the Bloody Mary, stay for the ambiance. Highly recommended!
Stayed 4 nights at LKH with our small dog. Although the inn is on a busy road, the rooms are very quiet. You can’t even hear the goings on at the tiki bar. The bed was comfortable and the room was clean and did not see any bugs. Unfortunately the fan in the living area did not work and it was a bit hot. Also the bathroom could use brighter lights. The view from the back is outstanding and the Tiki Bar was nice. No one was social distancing there, so we ordered drinks and left to sit outside by ourselves...
Very down to earth, FUN, relaxed people and place. The RV sites are right on the water, the rooms are perfect, the bar is eclectic, fun and full of personality! Lots of locals and visitors alike. Devon is an awesome bartender. We absolutely love Mo and Frank!! Thanks for a wonderful LKH visit!!
We have been staying at the Low Key for the last five years, all but one visit in our RV. Low Key Hideaway is an ADULTS ONLY, one-of-a-kind resort about a mile away from downtown Cedar Key on Rt. 24. The moment you enter the eclectic, comfortable, kitschy as all get out bar, you know you are on vacation and it's time to party. Like many other dive bars, there are visitors' contributions hanging from the walls and ceiling. There is a well-thought-out beer selection and all sorts of beverages, but the standout libations are the frozen drinks like the Key Lime Pie Daiquiri and bartender Remy's rightly famous Bloody Mary Experience. Owner Mo will have you feeling right at home in no time. Don't miss the spectacular sunsets on the dock behind the bar (the sunrises across the street are cool, too, if you happen to be up that early.). You will meet travelers from all over the world, and many have dogs! Altogether, there is a reason we've returned at least three times a year for the last five years!…
