Well, maybe it’s not that hidden considering it’s on the only road in to or out of Cedar Key, Florida (State Road 24.) But if you blink, you’ll miss it between the small motel and RV park that’s part of the property. To say its eclectic is like saying Hemingway was a writer. The walls are composed mostly of a mix of mortar and empty bar bottles. The design is roadside chic, and reminds me of all the best parts of yard sales, thrift stores and random objects d’art. It is one of those must see places that you might miss if you are fiddling with your phone or checking the GPS.
This is one of the unique hideaways that when you find it, your first thought is “vacation mode.” Your next thought is, “Has Jimmy Buffet written a song about this place yet?” It’s the kind of location that appears to have grown organically out of an ice machine, a blender and a determined bartender.
Set mainly outside, there is a small indoor bar free of modern trappings like air conditioning or screens, but why would you choose that on a gorgeous day? Like a choose your own adventure, you set your surroundings to your drink: Chill in the courtyard in chair or on a blanket with a Butter Pecan Colada, or hang out on their private dock for a sunset view with a Raspberry Margarita.
Pictures just don’t do it justice. You’ll have to go there and experience it for yourself, but trust me it’s worth the search.

Cute, newly renovated units that happen to be in front of a really cool tiki bar. The beds were in the top three globally for me in terms of comfort. Wonderful mattress, nice linens, fluffy nice large towels and BATHROBES! Really nice shampoos conditioner and body wash, great in room coffee. Someone put some thought and care into the renovation, lots of hooks and other small things that make your stay comfortable.
Tiki bar is funky and cute, there is a food truck there, but it was also not far from good restaurants in cedar key, or you could cook in your room.
It’s pet friendly so take some treats for the vacationing dogs, and cat treats for Tiki, who is a sweetie.
It’s a slice of old Florida, I’m glad places like this exist!

We had all five rooms rented and wish we had bought one of our RV's, because our overflow family had to stay in an AirB&B by the airport.
The rooms are clean, with great beds (king size in 4)
The big attraction here is the tiki bar which was lively throughout our stay. On Saturday night there is a live band. According to a friend who is a Cedar Key native, the best sunset in the community is right here. She was absolutely right.
It is a short drive to the downtown and dock area of Cedar Key, but nothing is far away
We were there from a Thursday to Sunday for a family event. None of us would hesitate to repeat our adventure here. We loved it!

We stayed at the Low Key Hideaway with 3 other couples. 2 in RV spots & 2 in hotel rooms. The whole place is a destination not be missed! It’s a small, but creative, quirky place that reeks of fun & relaxation. The tiki bar is the greatest! Wonderful, friendly bartender & delicious drinks! The pier & sunsets are great with a bonus of roseate spoonbills one morning! The courtyard area ,complete with firepit, hammock lighted bottle wall makes for a fun, laidback area. Loved it!!

If you are looking for gravel pads 3 feet from a busy road with no pet area, this is your place. If you are looking for horrible customer service, this is your place. THIS IS NOT AN RV CAMPGROUND. It is someone's drunk idea of a place to party with an afterthought of a gravel pad for parking...

This is the coolest, quirkiest, most fun place to visit and stay! This was our second time here and this time we stayed for an overnight in an adorable, well appointed and comfortable room. The bed was super comfortable and the room was decorated tastefully. The location is right on the water and the decor of the bar and outside patio area is eclectic and fun! Everyone at the Low Key Hideaway is friendly - from employees to musicians to patrons. It is always a great time and to stay here is an added bonus. As I am writing this, the threat of Hurricane Helene is real - and I can only pray for a miracle that this awesome little treasure on Cedar Key comes through it unscathed.

Not a place to be if it’s hot, like summertime. Limited parking for the paying customers and god forbid you want to visit town and come back later. If you’re heading to cedar key find a more modern hotel without so many rules. It’s more local crowd.

My friends and I found the tiki bar a few years ago on our annual trip to Cedar Key and have loved it ever since. It’s always on our agenda to see the sunset and have some drinks there every time we visit Cedar Key. This year I was even more pleased with the experience because I had the best burger and onion rings from the food truck parked there! We met two of the cutest dogs, one tiny (Dora) and one massive(Mufasa, a Tibetan mastiff)! The bartender, Ellie, was also a lot of fun and I even enjoyed roasting marshmallows over the fire in the fire pit! Always a unique and fun time at the Tiki bar!

Such a nice place to get away and unwind! Low Key Hideway is right on the main road just before Cedar Key so we passed it at first - but we circled back and saw the fishing pole room designated parking spaces and parked in our spot. I knew we were on to something special when we saw the sign telling us to check in at the Tiki Bar out back. Yes, there it was - absolutely the coolest Tiki Bar I’ve ever seen right on the water.
The room was recently renovated (thanks to last years hurricane) and was very comfortable - king bed suite with kitchen. Staff was very friendly, tiki bar was fun, relaxed, and very very Florida. We really enjoyed our stay.

Really unique little hotel (with only about 5 rooms) along with waterfront sites (about 9). Had great little tiki hut, which we enjoyed a few times. They had music on Saturday night and it got quite busy. Blood Mary's were amazing!!! Close to quaint little downtown Cedar Key. Thought rates were a little high for camping but great for unique camping experience.
