There are no 5 star properties in Cedar Key; this is a sleepy old fishing town and many structures are just old. This is such a structure, built in 1880, with all the charm of antiques and the limitations, too

We're in Room 1, "Miss Ida's room". ceilings, floors and walls are all old planking, the shower/tub is a clawfoot tub thats been refinished (and peeling). The usual quirks (loud bathroom fan, limited electrical outlets, pedestal bathroom sink) you find in 120 year old properties that havent been completely renovated so if you want a modern experience this may not be the choice for you. Room is decorated antiques and very old photos

Not sure where the thermostat is and it's cold this week so we are chilly at night. Should have asked about a thermostat when we checked in. TV is small and poorly placed and very limited to a few local channels.

Overall a charming property with some modern amenities (wifi) and staff is super nice. Hot breakfast is served at 9am sharp with toast, fruit and cereal offered earlier. Hot tea available 24/7. Common areas and exterior are kept up nicely and the fenced in yard with veranda is lovely. Property is pet friendly so the fenced in yard is nice if you bring your pup. Owner has sweet dogs she might being by and several very friendly cats live here.

Great location, a block from the water and a few blocks from downtown.

If you are a fan of charming old guest homes and reasonable prices this may be the best game in town.

Convenient to Dock Street and the waterfront, charming, friendly staff and bicycles too - the Cedar Key B&B is all that B&B's should be. The gardens are lovely and welcoming, with seating in various spots. The glassed verandah serves as an excellent space for a hot and delicious breakfast; served promptly at 9:00. Bicycles are available gratis and a golf cart can be rented. We met many of our fellow guests and enjoyed converstions with them over coffee and self-catered cocktails in the evening. My only caution is that comfortable porch seating for about 8 people is directly outside the door of the "Summer Kitchen". If an early night or a late wake-up is part of your holiday plan, don't rent one of the two small rooms on the ground floor.

Thank you for your kind review! We are happy that you had a wonderful stay and we hope to host you again soon! When you come back to see us we would love the opportunity to show you our other rooms that are larger and set apart from the main gathering spaces - with two of them still on the ground floor.

My husband and I and our 2 doodles stayed here as a stopover for the night on our way further south in Florida. We are on a four week vacation and the Treehouse suite at Cedar Key Bed & Breakfast is our favorite!

The proprietor, Alice and her staff were very welcoming and our room was spotless and smelled so fresh and clean. Not always the case when traveling with dogs. I’ve found many dog friendly places are sub par and not truly ‘dog friendly’. Our pups were greeted with open arms and we were very comfortable allowing them to roam around the fenced yard.

Although you may not want to leave this beautiful property, the quaint little town is very nice too with cute shops downtown.

Put this one high on your list! We will be repeat visitors. Many thanks Cedar Key B&B.

Hard to put in words how pleased our 3 day stay was! Seriously first off the staff as small as it appeared to be were so very effective in guaranteeing our every need was addressed. The property is impeccably maintained which has to be challenging considering the age of the buildings. All the grounds being manicured and user friendly. Don’t ask about breakfast🤪 it was consistently imaginative, tasty , always on time and plentiful. Inspite of the staff, the property, the food and character of the Inn .... what really amazed me was our fellow patron travelers! Fully booked over 4th of July weekend it was amazing how interesting and friendly the other guests were. Family and pet friendly awesome option to lay your head in Cedar Key Florida. Worth a stop in😎

My husband and I have stayed at numerous bed and breakfasts in the U.S. and think we are a good judge of this type of accommodation. Unfortunately, we found this property to be less favorable than we’d hoped for based upon the advertisements and reviews we read prior to our arrival. The gardens were nice and the porches, but the traffic was a distraction from the “quiet” neighborhood. Our room (the Girls Room), and much of the property, was poorly decorated inside with garage sale / dollar store items…..not what we anticipated of a historic B&B. When we moved a small rug alongside the bed in our room, to avoid tripping on it, we discovered a clothing tag and particles of dirt, indicating a quick vacuum of the floor was performed over but not underneath the rugs in the room. The staff attempted friendliness, but were always moving at a very fast pace (nearly running) which didn’t align with the relaxing atmosphere advertised. The seating at breakfast was more like a restaurant, with each couple seated at their own table. Our breakfast included coffee and juice, a French toast casserole and a piece of sausage. While the casserole was delicious, we expected more. We’re not generally in the habit of writing reviews, but wanted to let others know that we found this B&B to be greatly overpriced for what’s being advertised. We will not return.

Charming, Comfortable & Relaxing best describe this wonderful slice of 'Old Florida' on the Gulf of Mexico. Cedar Key Bed and Breakfast was a welcome respite from the traffic and congestion in Florida's larger cities and resorts further south. Alice and her staff make you feel at home the moment you arrive and check in. The entire property depicts pride of ownership and attention to the smallest detail. The hot breakfast served promptly each morning at 9:00 were all very delicious, meticulously prepared and visually appealing. Do yourselves a favor, take a step back in time and enjoy Cedar Key Bed and Breakfast, you'll be happy you did! Mike & Barb, Sarasota, FL

My husband and made reservations a week out and took the only two nights they had together in the only room available. The B&B is under a canopy of 500-700 year old oaks. There’s a lovely courtyard with plenty of seats and benches. We arrived right at check in time, and our room was ready. The owner gave us a Brief orientation and walked us to our room.

We stayed in “Jack’s Room.” It is the largest room in the B&B. There is a spiral staircase leading up to the room. We decided when we go back, we will bring a smaller suitcase. Upon entering the room, it feels like stepping back in time. It was a bright room with antique decor. There is a king sized bed with one nightstand. The bathroom is very large and has a wonderful claw foot tub and a large walk-in shower.

The breakfast both mornings is served hot at 9 am. Pastries and coffee are available at 7. There are homemade cookies available all day, along with an assortment of hot teas and coffee.

Downtown is about a 5 minute walk away, and the water is just at the end of the block. All in all, we had a great stay and will return.

I hate to leak out just how wonderful this B&B really is. Alice (owner) and her staff are all delightful women; energetic; kind and a wealth of information. We stayed in The Tree House Suite which consisted of a full kitchen, nice sized bathroom, desk area for either your laptop or makeup mirror and a queen sized bedroom area with a balcony overlooking a 700 year old oak tree and the beautiful grounds below. I was amazed that this unit was equipped with such a nice set of cookware (that's not the norm in most places that we have stayed they are scratched, dirty and unusable); a coffee maker with everything you need and then some to make and flavor coffee; popcorn; water bottles (at a nominal charge), a very comfortable bed and television in the bedroom hung high enough that you can actually see a program while laying down. The morning full breakfast is served at 9:00 a.m. We were served delicious pancakes (loaded with shaved chocolate, whipped cream and a maraschino cherry), a sausage link and a perfectly cooked over easy egg. Coffee, tea, juice, water etc. If your an early riser they do have lighter fare (fruit etc.) beginning at 7:00 a.m. and if you have any special dietary restrictions or a need to eat at an earlier time they will gladly accommodate you. The preferred method of travel on the island is via golf cart and renting one was very convenient as they are available at the B&B. We did reserve ours prior to arrival, however the owner's husband is in the golf cart rental business at another location nearby. We had only to walk downstairs, across the grounds and unplug our golf cart; very convenient. Parking was in no way an issue for our vehicle; some roadside parking and there is off street parking at the B&B. This was our first time in Cedar Key and I would highly recommend talking with Alice about the highlights/places to visit. We failed to do so until our departure morning and discovered that we had totally missed half of the island. Oh well, just another reason to return and we definitely will.

This is a beautiful B&B in Cedar Key, FL. Though it is not actually on the water, it is just a block away and there is a water view. The property is beautiful, surrounded by huge, ancient Live Oaks and has a nice courtyard.

The breakfasts are incredible and are served at 9am so you can sleep in. If you get hungry before 9, there are fruits available as well as bagels and bread to toast while you wait in the charming breakfast area that looks out to the courtyard and water beyond. There are also cookies and pretzels in this area throughout the day.

We stayed in Verona’s room on the ground floor. It has a king size bed and nice bathroom with a huge shower. It is nicely decorated and very clean. The staff is extremely friendly and helpful. Town is a short walk away or you can rent one of the property’s golf carts or use one of the complementary bikes. We would most definitely recommend Cedar Key Bead and Breakfast for anyone wanting a lovely, relaxing get away!
