Enjoyed our overnight stay in this one of a kind historical hotel. The antique furnishings added a special charm, and the atmosphere was unique. Employees were very friendly. We enjoyed the friendliness of the locals in the bar, and had a delicious meal in the restaurant. Especially enjoyed relaxing in the swing on the upstairs porch.

We had a great room with an exit to the second floor porch. We found that this is not necessary because the hall exits to, the porch. We found the personnel very friendly and helpful. The restaurant is very elegant, but serves a hearty complementary breakfast.

Staying here with the family. This is my find of the summer. Phenomenal old Florida with a wonderful eclectic flair. If you want a break this is the place to come. I hope this hotel never changes. Wonderful reception, great quaint rooms. This is a must visit for any one who relishes in the interesting.

So for transparency, my visit was on July 3rd not too long before grill closed. I called to place a to-go order and got the owner, who informed me 'better hurry'. Ok... She however didn't turn me away. So I placed an efficient order. Knew what I needed. While the woman on the phone is been passed to rapid-fired questions... More

Even though the stay was during a holiday weekend(fully booked) the visit was quiet quaint and quirky. We had booked our stay based on the ghost presence and sightings. We were charmed by the warm welcome homey feel and historic charm. There was a downplay of the ghost stories, the proprietors were not attempting to profit from past folklore. The... More

We are so pleased with our choice. Everyone was awesome...and their breakfast was fantastic! No TV or phone but that's just what we needed. Free WIFI so one night we streamed a movie via our iPad. Loved sitting out on the balcony enjoying the street view. Grateful for this quaint getaway! We will be back!!!

Island Hotel in the sleeping fishing village of Cedar Key - at least during off season - is clearly one of the most uniquely charming hotels I've ever stayed in the U.S. With its distinctively personal design, its individually choreographed rooms, it is a most welcome change from the monotony of America's uniform hotel chains. This makes it a must... More

If you need luxury and lots amenities this isn't your place. Our room was Spartan but adequate, the owner and staff made this a pleasant stay. The food at the restaurant is very good. The town of Cedar Key like the Island Hotel is a pleasant easy going place.

We visited Cedar Key on route to Destin, FL. We happened to be there on a Saturday when they had an Arts and Craft show. My wife was into that, but I went into the Cedar Key History Museum. For the $3 entrance fee it surely was worth that. Then we went up to Destin and coming back on a... More

So much history surrounds this landmark in the center of Cedar Key! It has been very well cared for and is very popular. The room was spacious, well furnished, and clean. Twin beds were comfy though a little firm. I didn't like the bathroom across the hall but was happy to have a private bathroom. The restaurant was a little... More
