We found the condo we stayed at to be disgusting and the management didn't seem to care. When we arrived there was mold growing on the shower curtain (a pretty sizeable spot), dried food on the utensils in the kitchen and dead bugs found in a corner in one of the rooms. When we complained the manager said "we were lucky to have linens." This condo was not inexpensive. We expected more. It was gross. We even left for part of our trip and stayed somewhere else. I do not recommend this place.
I booked Unit 310 through VRBO on Wednesday for a Friday-Sunday stay (in other words short notice). Of note that this was the Wednesday after Hurricane Dorian’s near miss of the Central Florida coast. My two friends and I were attending Yarn Lounge, a knitting event, at Florida Brewing, a nearby craft brewery. We had booked a local Airbnb much earlier but the owners had opted to cancel our reservation as Dorian was initially threatening the coast. So once the “coast was clear” literally I scrambled to find other accommodations. The booking process was very easy and I lucked into a great rate. Getting into the rental was very easy, Marla the property manager sent me the door code in an email as there is no on site office to check in at. The property is well maintained. The condo is relatively modern. The bathrooms appear to have been recently renovated. The condo has 1 king bed in the master, 2 twins in the second bedroom, and a pull out couch. The twin beds were pretty hard but would be serviceable for kids. The condo is a side unit but you can see the ocean from most of the balcony. It’s a short walk from the condo to the beach. There weren’t many units occupied while we were there due to the hurricane fallout so it was very quiet. We didn’t use the pool but the unit overlooked it and it seemed well maintained. It’s close (not walking distance) to plenty of restaurants so you won’t go hungry. It would have been nice if the owners had invested in a keurig (coffee pod) coffee maker rather than a Mr. Coffee. If we had been staying longer or had more people a few more towels would have been appreciated. The owner does provide beach towels and a couple of beach chairs. There is a washer/dryer in the unit hitch is also nice. Overall I wouldn’t hesitate to stay here again. …
My wife and I stayed in cape winds, room 112, we rented through VRBO. The unit is on the first floor, not far from the pool. It has one bedroom, 2 baths, living area, outside patio. The unit is nicely done, everything you need for a beach vacation. Cape winds is right on the beach, nice pool, clean resort, well kept. About 1 hour from Disney. Plenty of free parking, even a tennis Court. Great place to stay.
We rented our unit through VRBO and this review is specifically about the Cape Winds property rather than the condo. The resort is very nice and clean and all of the common areas are very well taken care of. I would highly recommend Cape Winds.
Stayed in 2 different units, as our vacation time was extended. First week in a top floor corner unit, with wrap around balcony. The furnishings were fine, although showing some age. The second week we were two doors down, and the difference was shocking. It had recently been renovated, and the exterior was so much brighter and seemed more like florida. Both were a great getaway from the Ohio snow.
