It's location is excellent if you want to visit Voyageurs National Park. Also, just down the road is a trail head for a very nice hike. The location on the lake is also excellent as well. Beautiful location. Here though is what you need to know if you plan a visit (especially if you are not local, meaning that you flew into another location and rented a vehicle). There is a charge of $25 for towels (the towels we were given were certainly not hotel quality and given the number of days we were staying were insufficient). The following was not found in the kitchen: vegetable peeler, sharp knives, no broom, no dish drainer, no sugar, salt or pepper. There were no coffee filters (wrong size), no coffee, no garbage bags (wrong size)and the beer mugs were dirty The bath/shower plug was broken as well as the kitchen sink plug. There was no shampoo. Additionally, they charged an extra fee for using your credit card. The details as outlined for the cabin were quite lacking, and that there is the sense of nickel and dining the guest. When we have traveled to cabins in many states, we never had the myriad of issues that I have outlined above. Note, as each issue came up we had some of them addressed, but we were here to hike and visit the Park, not spend time with the staff trying to address what was lacking. Also, the WiFi was intermittent at best. The TV/DVD player hookup also had to be fixed.

Clean cabins, well appointed and beautiful views. Great fishing and a wonderful vacation. It made the 11 hour drive well worth it. The people at the resort were very helpful and really good at their jobs.

We stayed in the Yellowstone Loft; unfortunately, the weather didn't cooperate for our 3 days. That being said, we enjoyed some down time in the loft. We enjoyed getting some DVD's from the lodge and watching them at night. As the water was too rough to canoe, we did some hiking in the area including a nice surprise hike at the campground that isn't in the National Park brochures. - The overall space and linens were clean; kitchen and refrigerator were clean. - Do NOT rent the Yellowstone Loft if you are tall or clumsy - there are a lot of sloped ceilings. We did fine, but could see where others would have issues. - In the Yellowstone Loft, you can hear the voices of the space below (they most likely can hear you too) - it was most obvious in the bedroom. - I wasn't a huge fan of the shower as it was a bit dark with no light. The tub in the loft takes some time to fill, and we couldn't exactly figure out the drain, but it was nice. - The varnish on the kitchen table was wearing - worked best to put something down on it (placemats, etc.) to avoid the 'sticky'. - The lodge does have a 'closing time' where they lock the door; other doors have no locks. - There is a nice beach area and canoes/kayaks/other features for water use. - Bring food...and condiments. The refrigerator was empty. We enjoyed the use of all of the pots/pans/toaster/coffee pot in the kitchen (the lodge area has a pizza oven). I wish I would have brought frozen cookie dough - it would have been perfect for the small oven. - The local corner store does have a select variety of items - just nothing as big as a grocery store would. - While there is Wifi, they ask you not to stream; I used the Wifi a couple times to log into email/weather. There is a password. We enjoyed the radio in the dining area - the Canadian station came in crystal clear. Enjoy! We would definitely stay again!

Awesome place to stay when life is getting hectic. we came up last year as a family to enjoy an amazing and calming week away from our norm. Not only were we provided with everything we needed but the cabin was beautiful and relaxing to stay even when the weather changed to being to cold to enjoy outside activities. It was such a calming week with no worries what so ever which is why we will be returning again this year! this is the kind of place we want to make a family tradition to escape our crazy reality's each year to come! cant wait to enjoy yet another amazing memory with the Family!

My family drove up from Tennessee and Texas to stay at the Woodside Loft at NLRO. We were disappointed in the view as there had been no outside pictures on the website. Had there been we would have chose different lodging. The loft was over a garage and had storeage areas with large propane tank as a view and other equipment pilled around front and back of unit. The AC was a issue for us as well. One small unit in the master bedroom was not adequate to cool the space. The unit placement had a large crack in the window that allowed mosquito and moths to fill the room the first night. I plugged the hole with a towel and we kept the master bedroom light out after dark to remedy the problem. We rented a boat which was very nice and the sunsets on the lake were beautiful. The kayaks and canoes offered as amenities were convenient appreciate. The cabins on the lake seemed to offer comfortable and beautiful accommodations. The support staff was helpful and friendly.
