4 couples stayed at this resort for the first time - we are local to the area. Our first snag was at 2pm after arrival when we were told that Mangroves (the hotel bar) did not open until 3 pm (on a Saturday?!?) really - you check into a resort and cant get a bloody mary until 3pm? Well it is a shame we waited until 3pm - the service was slow, (and we were the first people in there) the food was awful and the bar snacks were ice cold from being in the freezer all night. On a better note- the rooms were clean. But the imitation Heavenly Bed felt like it was on springs and my wife and I kept each other awake all night. Checking out I called ahead for a bell captain and was told one would be right up. 15 minutes later a bell hop named Scott called up to our room wanting to confirm we needed help with our luggage!!! My wife and I ended up lugging all of our stuff down to the lobby thinking the bell hops were in the weeds and everyone was checking out all at once - when we got the the lobby there were two people checking out. So to recap, Service - no, Room cleanliness - yes, Room Deco - think used, drab Ikea, Food - absolutely not! Eat off property if you have to go here.

This resort is a gorgeous property that definitely exceeded our expectations. Beautiful rooms with great views. A choice of pools with water slides and a lazy river. Attentive service for ordering drinks as well as a poolside restaurant serving delicious sandwiches, etc. Also, took the boat to the private beach which had chairs and umbrellas provided. Enjoyed a lovely dinner at the seafood restaurant, Tarpon Bay.

The hotel, the staff, the cleanliness, the grounds and pools...amazing. But the website describes the dining at Tarpon Bay "Sip champagne and mimosas while you indulge in your choice of breakfast or lunch entrée from Chef’s menu plus a grand buffet of seafood, ceviche and sushi, farm-to-table fruits, eclectic Dessert Room." This is only for Sunday brunch. If you're trying to take a loved one there for his birthday and all he wants is a lovely sushi dinner, this is not the place. Over priced and "meh" food.

I have stayed at this Hyatt previously and have never been disappointed. The rooms are lovely, the staff in all areas of the hotel friendly and helpful and the onsite restaurants are delicious. It isn't inexpensive...but I expect a higher price for such great service and accommodations. The conference facilities and hotel food service for the conference were also excellent. This is a family-friendly, business-friendly location. I will return when I can!

Beautiful environment with GREAT service! It felt like a total treat to be there! Felt like I was on lifestyles of the rich and famous without even belonging to that category LOL Couldn't have been any nicer!
