We have a family of 6 so it can be hard to find a hotel that works for everyone. The pool areas are excellent and I was thankful for pool-side service which made everything very easy. The restaurants were good and we enjoyed our room and stay overall
Rooms are updated, very comfortable. The pool area is exceptional, really enjoyed the adult only area. All the staff were amazing from the moment of arrival. The rooms are updated, beds comfortable. This is an exceptional hotel.
The property was a little run down. Pools need maintenance; garbage everywhere; small kids with diapers in the lazy River. We had to change rooms and left hanging clothes in the first room and we had to call front desk 5 times to get our clothes. WORST PART - Came home and unzipped my luggage to have a live German roach run out of my suitcase. I am completely disheartened and grossed out! I will not go back.
Overall, I definitely would return! The room was amazing, minus the awful pillows! The pools were nice but good luck getting a tube for the lazy river because people hoard them at their chairs. The lazy river was filled with people standing just hanging out or swimming through it even though there were other pools to swim in. Maybe it was just a super busy weekend, but I will definitely be back!
Immaculate, beautifully landscaped facilities and superb staff made this week a true vacation. The nicely remodeled rooms are quiet and comfortable, with a great bed, roomy shower, ample drawers and closet, in-room coffee maker, and refrigerator. The pools, slides, and lazy river more resemble a water theme park, and if you want to get away from the happy kiddos the adult pool is great. The Tanglewood was well above average for a hotel. Oh, and there's a boat to a private island beach. Great staff made every moment count. We'll be back.
Vacationed there for 4 days and only left the property once. 4 pools slides and a lazy river. Great restaurant and coffee shop in the building. Beautiful views and surroundings. Water taxi to private beach. Everything you need is right there!
This is a great location for family vacations, especially if you have access to transportation that you can go offsite for food and beverages. I was there for business and Ubered from the airport. The food and beverage options at the hotel are limited and they are not "affordable" when you have a stipend. The customer service was wonderful and the grounds were beautiful.
The resort is beautiful, the pools are great, the Lazy River is not too long but its Ok, the A+ in this resort is Big Hickory Island .....It is so GORGEUS... you make the reservation in the lobby to take a shuttle to go to the Island (they have service every hour from 10 -4) maybe if you are lucky you can see the dolphins on the way to the island. The hotel has also lot amenities for a little kids (rock climbing, games, water park) also has Restaurant-Bar in the pool, etc.
My husband and I stayed here for 5 nights in August, the hotel was nicer than expected, and the highlight was the private beach that they provide a ferry to that has clear, warm oceanwater and umbrellas and chairs to use for no charge, you cannot really visit a private beach like this without staying at Hyatt in the area. ( public beaches are busy and hard to find parking) the pools are lovely and adult pool area is very nice. the staff are extremely friendly and warm. the bartenders were incredible these ladies work their tails off and keep smiling and are super friendly as well. Food outstanding, the Grouper tropical salad dish outstanding. ROOMS very modern ,beds are very comfortable, hotel is near some great restaurants as well.
We were excited to visit this hotel for a conference. I brought my family and reserved a cabana in advance. Disappointing check in as we called ahead to book the rooms to request adjoining and were told no problem and they would even pull the rooms from inventory early. At check in front desk staff very rude saying this is not possible and no even willing to put rooms close to each other at first. Cabana was tiny and extremely dirty for $500 with ants everywhere!! Food options limited and not very good quality. Slides and pools were fun for the kids but so crowded it was hard to use. People reserve chairs super early so no umbrellas available. They sell day passes to the general public so the volume at the pool exceeds the hotel. Not sure we will return to this conference next year because this hotel was a big let down!…
