We had the privilege of staying at the Renaissance Hotel in the heart of Boca Raton for two weeks in the beginning of this month, and I have to say it’s a very very well kept Boca secret. We were lucky to have known Lisa from a previous hotel, and we were very very surprised and appreciative of her presence. She helped us select the room etc. and she was just great. The people that ran the club room, Nadeige and Rose were very kind. Some of the housekeepers Ranelli were just sweet, people we spoke with the engineer I think his name is Larry just wonderful people all around in every capacity very kind very loving staff I would recommend this hotel to anyone.

The lobby and pool area look great, but as soon as you pass the door leading out to the pool, it’s a different story. When our home was being renovated, we didn’t have anyone visit for the three months of work. Marriott should do the same; close it completely and do the necessary work to bring this place up to standard. Attempting to operate like there is no issue is poor management.

We chose this hotel because we’ve stayed at many Renaissance properties and have always enjoyed them and their level of experience. We were dismayed to arrive at this property and find it under renovation. The website only indicated that the restaurant was closed for renovation, but said nothing about the hotel. Our room had clearly not yet been renovated and it was in dire need of an upgrade. There was obvious wear and tear all around on the furnishings and walls. The hallways of the hotel showed their wear as well. There were intermittent power outages while we were there, and in the morning while we were eating breakfast. We needed help to get into the concierge lounge and room as our keys stopped working. I’m not one to rush to post a negative review, I’d rather give the hotel manager a chance to address any concerns. In this case, the manager was not there when we checked out so I reported our issues through the Marriott app. I got a reply saying that someone from the hotel would get back to me in 3 to 5 business days. No one got back to me. When I reported that by replying back to Customer Service, they apologized that we didn’t see the reply from the hotel (we never got one). Then, when they shared the hotel’s reply, it was very weak and not apologetic at all. It said: "Thank you for your comments. We will be undergoing the room renovation beginning spring this year and we are excited for the process to begin!" Thank you for your comments??? Not, I’m sorry that we weren’t clear on our website that the hotel was being renovated. Did they even read what we wrote to them? It doesn’t seem like they did as they didn’t address any of the concerns. They’re excited for the process to begin? There were people changing wallpaper in the hallways!! We’re coming back to the area next week and have already made reservations at another hotel. We won’t be back.

I have been staying at this hotel for a combined business and pleasure trip. I must say that this hotel has improved dramatically since last year. There is a brand new large pool and chairs for over 100 folks. There is More staff than I can count and the GM is everywhere. Rooms are slated for renovation beginning on May but the staff has maintained the current rooms and they are clean and large. They are bending over backwards to bring back guests and it is working. Carlos is the GM. If you meet him make sure you say thanks for the great improvements and training of the staff. Spending 6 nights and here now. Congrats!

I lost all respect for Marriott. The hotel is very old, smelly and Dirty. I assumed a certain minimum standard for a Marriott hotel. I guess I was wrong. We rented two rooms, on for me and my wife and one for the kids. Both rooms had cockroaches.

I used this hotel exclusively for its service standards, conference rooms and for new employee housing during training. It is now a post Covid rundown dump. No restaurant and it’s loyality lounge so crowded only leftovers remained. In my room there were dirty q-tips, golf tees and a used razor in the trash. The executive suite didn’t even have a chair other than the desk chair. The elevator had the same hand print above the room selection buttons my entire stay. No printer at the “desk” being used during the renovation. Three days later I’m still waiting a receipt. No one answered my phone call during my stay and today I still can’t reach anyone to get a receipt. This is one hotel I’m scratching off my list.

After making reservations for 2 ADA Compliant rooms with roll in showers, my wife was transferred to an “ADA Specialist”. The specialist confirmed the rooms and assured us that they were to our specifications. When we arrived, our assigned rooms were not ADA Compliant at all. The staff assigned us 2 other rooms that were not ADA Compliant. The whole property had a musty odor (it is under construction). We decided to seek accommodations elsewhere. We do not expect special treatment, only the basics like grab bars and a roll in shower. There is no excuse for this property to be so clueless about ADA requirements.

The biggest drawback was that the hotel was under construction during my stay. You can choose to stay at a reasonable rate if you don’t mind the view and noise of construction work from your window. The rooms and bathrooms are pretty basic and need updates. Clean and comfortable but nothing luxurious. Maybe it will look different after the construction and renovations. It’s near a strip mall and restaurants and convenient from busy Glades Road and offices in Boca. Nothing to write home about.

I stayed here for more than a week while we were dealing with home renovations. We had two separate queen rooms which were of good size. As locals who simply needed a place to lay our heads, we were aware of the renovations which meant no pool or dining facilities, so this was not an issue for us. Our rooms had not yet been renovated, and as a result, the air conditioning was a bit loud and the window shade was quite difficult to pull up/down. Housekeeping was hit and miss as some days we got no soap, coffee or water. Throughout my stay I availed myself of the gym which was very clean and had a good selection of machines and weights. The 4pm complimentary wine & cheese hour was a very nice touch and much appreciated. During our stay we had several interactions with Marcia at the front desk. She was one of the most pleasant people I’ve ever come to know. She took care of any issues we had throughout our stay. She was exceptionally professional and truly made us feel like valued guests. We hope someday to revisit this hotel once the renovations are complete.
