Detailed Reviews
Our room was clean and looked attractive, but smelled very musty from the heat/ac unit. The floors were engineered wood, which I thought made sense for an island location. Unfortunately we could hear every footstep, every door closure in the room above.
Note that one has to drive quite a distance to find public beach access. This resort does not offer breakfast and there is none within walking distance.

Hotel is well kept and has a classic look. The rooms inside were very spacious and well maintained. They had a wide array of free popular movie channels (HBO MAX TMC) all kinds of sports channels. All of the furnishings looked new the bed was comfortable. good hot water and shower, the heating cooling unit functioned perfectly at the temperature that i set. the pool area was great. Not a deep pool but it was adequate for my needs. The hotel is part of a complex that has a restaurant and one of two grocery stores on the island. Having the store close by was convenient but it is not open late. You have a drive of about 5 to 7 minutes to the town and to get to the end of the island (beaches) make a right on 5th street or to go into town go straight at 5th street.
I loved staying there

Checked in by the very friendly and professional front desk manager, staff member, go to person, Margarita. Room on first floor immaculate with easy parking. Restaurant only open at supper time so had to go elsewhere. Kappys on the parking lot provides any needed supplies. The location is good for exploring Gasparilla Island and you get what you pay for. Downside was an over zealous owner banging on the room door trying to gain access as our check in had been ommited from hotel records. Thankfully deadbolt was in place or the situation could have been different. Apologies were made and accepted

Done well- Housekeeping did a great job…very responsive and Tim smelled like pine sol from mopping. They replenished everything daily
Receptionists were also very responsive and friendly.
Nice size rooms
Improvements- beds were soft and maybe could be replaced
Suggest putting in some comfortable chairs
Put some citronella candles by the pool to reduce the noseeums and mosquitos.

The reason for this low rating is the 7 day cancellation policy. I cancelled my reservation 5 days ahead due to an unexpected problem. I explained the issue and asked if the room was rented by someone else, could a credit of at least some portion of the charges be provided to defray my cost. They replied by email that any cancellation within one week of the reservation will always result in the full amount being charged, regardless of whether the room is rented by another person. I was indeed charged the full amount. Having such a lengthy cancellation period and such rigid rules regarding refunds, seems to be a rather self-defeating policy.

A Fritomann review.
Everything went like clockwork. I made the reservation directly with the hotel, about a week and a half in advance. My room was ready for early check-in, they notified me by email of this.
Boca Grande Hotel is north of town a couple miles, nothing nearby for tourists. Oh sure, you can rent a golf cart. Anywhere around Boca Grande.
The causeway off Boca Grande is nearby and you can get out without a toll (cash only coming down to the island 6 bucks). There is a convenience store and golf cart rental business on site that closes at about 5pm. Lots of pretty t shirts to buy.
I stayed 2 nights, mission accomplished. I climbed the Gasparilla Lighthouse, drove down to Sanibel and Pine Island for a day, came back and slept quite well here, both nights, and back home to Port Richey.

Pleasant small hotel on a wonderful island on Florida’s west coast. Room was spacious up to date with attractive furnishings. Room was very clean and well maintained. Staff could not be more accommodating. Price for the room was remarkably low considering Boca Grande Island can be pricey

We had an incredible experience staying at the Boca Grande Hotel! First, the staff was nothing but accommodating, friendly, and generous. In particular, Jo and Margarita took the time to show us island attractions and how to make the best use of our time in Boca Grande. Second, our room was always cleaned in a timely manner. And the rooms are plenty spacious. Third, while the location of the hotel is far from the main area of Boca Grande, it is extremely close to Kappy’s, which allows for golf cart rentals. The golf cart ride from the hotel to the main area of town was about 15 minutes. The rides made for memorable sight-seeing! And there are plenty of areas at the hotel for charging the carts. We can’t wait to return!

This hotel is good. There were a few things we found as unusual ... no clock in the hotel room, very few outlets. Half of rooms do not have outside windows. There were chairs at the pool, but there was nowhere else to relax outside. No chairs/tables setup in main area. Would have been more inviting with chairs and tables outside (I'm from Ohio ... we like to hang out outside when temperature goes above 55).
Restaurant wasn't open 2 of the 3 days we stayed.
Went to Kappy's to get supplies twice.
Staff was friendly and efficient

We found this gem and couldn’t been happier!
Upon arriving we were welcomed by Amin (hopefully I spelt that correctly ) , he was very knowledgeable and friendly to say the least.
The room was beautiful. Very spacious and had a nice tropical relaxing decor .
Not to mention all the tv channels /movies they offered which we didn’t utilize much considering there is a beautiful quiet beach just a short drive away , a small pool on site as well as a marina and ship store/ convenient store in the lot .
Unfortunately the restaurant was closed due to season but we look forward to trying it out next time .
Thank you so much for the hospitality ,
KC
