Wilmington, Delaware
Reviewed 1 week ago NEW

Recently had visitors from Europe and New York, all very seasoned travelers, and arranged rooms for them at the Hotel. They loved it. The elegance, service and general ambiance were great. All added to a big plus in their minds for an early return to Wilmington. Gave a small dinner party in one of the private dining rooms, and the...

We were in town for a U of D function, but wanted to be away from the college atmosphere-our room was a delux king suite with beautiful dark wood accents and furnishings-somewhat dated but elegant. The bed was luxurious as well as the bathroom, and despite the bustling city life outside, it was quiet inside. We needed a microwave and...

Lovely lobby, very old-school decor. We checked in, took the elevator up to our room, and got settled in. The room was very nice, with a large bathroom, big tub, nice shower, large sink area. We went down to the restaurant and had a disappointing afternoon tea experience (separate review - the green room). By the end of the day,...

Everyone was friendly and professional and helpful--valet, front desk staff just everyone we encountered. We were upgraded without even asking to a beautiful room (actually a suite). We didn't eat in the dining room, although it looked very attractive, but we had another recommendation. There are less expensive places to stay in Wilmington, but I doubt if there are nicer...

We came to Wilmington as a quick overnight adventure from DC. The DuPont had a great reutation as one of those lovely venerable hotels and it mostly didn't disappoint. First, I want to thank Lisa who was fabulous help in easily solving a reservation issue. We had a beautifully appointed and large upgraded room on the top (12th) floor. It...

Room was large, pleasantly appointed, though rather old school (on the plus side though there is a REAL couch in the sitting area which is appreciated). Handsome just not modern if you are looking for big screen TV and sophisticated bathroom (large, but not lux). Restaurant beautiful, main meeting room very nice, and the catering was solid. Service very pleasant...

I must say I was thoroughly impressed with this beautiful historic hotel. It has been able to keep its style and sense of beauty that so many other hotels have lost. The lobby, restaurant, and rooms were all maintained as original. My room was spacious and comfortable. This is a special place and I would recommend it highly.

I recently stayed at the Hotel duPont for a dear friend's wedding that was being held in the hotel. The first impression was very welcoming, with friendly valets arriving to take our car and bags and welcome us into the hotel. The lobby reminds you of an old-world hotel, with lots of finished wood and art. Staff was very accomodating...
