This turned out to be a super clean, quiet option for an overnight stay at the beach. Everybody’s prices were inflated for the holiday travelers, so this was a reasonable option. Another plus was its proximity to Surf Bagel for breakfast.
My wife and I made an excellent choice when we stayed 2 nights in Rehoboth Beach recently. This motel has been recently renovated and our room was excellent. Very quiet and clean. The staff was very helpful when we realized that my wife had not packed her hair dryer (life saver). The location is very convenient to many great restaurants and activities. We would recommend the Anchorage Motel to everyone.
A clean, convenient place to stay close to Lewes. It’s a motel, so none of the frills some of us are used to in fancier places, but it was clean and well kept. Bathroom was small, but bright, clean, and totally serviceable. It had clearly been updated recently. Staff was friendly and helpful. This place is older and close to Coastal Highway, so there is some road noise and it was a little bright in the room, even with the curtains closed. But the price was good and the location was great for me. I would stay here again for sure.
We grabbed this hotel last minute, we were taking a trip with some friends and wanted to stop in for the night. After we returned home and I checked my credit card statement, there was a $25.00 charge for a stolen pillow!!!!! I called the hotel and spoke with AL.....he stated "the maid said there was a pillow missing out of the room, nothing we can do" you would figure a $25.00 charge would be a no biggie for a happy customer especially when they took the time to call and question it.....the price was good for the one night stay, so I am not sure if this is standard operating procedure for this place to randomly charge peoples credit cards for whatever they want......but if you would like to spend hours on the phone disputing charges on your credit card for things you never took.....then I highly recomend this dump!!!!!!!!…
My husband and I just stayed for 2 nights at the Anchorage and were Very Impressed! Al and Diane greeted us warmly upon check-in. This facility is very well maintained and it was obvious that there were recent renovations/updating. Although the accommodations are basic, they are more than sufficient for a place to sleep, change and get cleaned up. They have 'Adjoining rooms' for families. The rates are more than reasonable, especially for 'in-season' stays. The room we were in, on the first floor, was immaculately clean (I'm a 'clean-freak' and I was impressed!). This is a motel- the room we were in was in the one story section that you pulled your car up in front of your room and parked. The only negative thing we experienced while there, had nothing to do with the motel or ownership, but with the inconsiderate guests that were there. People were outside our room and speaking loudly as well as having kids that were noisy - at SIX o'clock in the morning! The housekeeping staff was also a bit loud while doing their work in the other rooms next to ours. Our room had a microwave and small refrigerator that came in handy. We had to bring a coffee maker, as they don't supply the rooms with one. This room had been renovated last season- the carpet and bathroom were very new and Clean! The bathroom sink was elevated to waist height, (like in our home) which made it more comfortable to use. The two beds were very comfortable, as were the pillows. They even have bed bug monitors attached to the lower mattress to make sure the rooms don't get contaminated by incoming visitors. The dresser had plenty of room (3 drawers) and there was a place to hang clothes with a shelf above it. Air conditioning unit looked new, worked fine, although we turned it off. This location is right on Rt 1, and although traffic gets busy, it's still less than 15 minutes to the beach areas and town of Rehoboth. There are plenty of places to eat and shop. CrabbyDick's is right next door. The Tanger Outlets are a 5 minute drive. Gas stations, grocery stores and Atlantic Liquors are minutes away. If we ever go back to Rehoboth Beach, this is our 'go-to' stay over. Don't waste time looking for something fancy, this will serve your needs and stay within budget. Just hope they have a vacancy!…
