This could be a nice place but seems to be neglected and forgotten over the last couple of years. It needs some money put in it for renovations and maybe some better management by the owner. No matter how old a hotel is it can still be clean, grass cut, parking lot clean, etc. It is overpriced in the season for the product, service and amenities that you receive. There is going to be a new property opening up down the street so they better get it together. Breakfast seems to get more stingy and basic year after year. Hopefully they get it together or they will get their lunch handed to them when the new property opens up down the street.
I always choose this hotel when we head down to Sports at the Beach. The place needs some work but overall it is clean. They stopped the "you can't fill your cooler up with our ice thing" finally. The front desk person that always seems to be there is a bit odd but means no harm. Breakfast is only so so but the price of the hotel is good for what you get.
This was our third stay and our last stay at the Atlantic Inn in Millsboro, DE. We were not thrilled by the flies that were out in front of the entrance to the rooms nor were we thrilled by the downed Wi-Fi with no one being able to improve the connection. The worst part was the lack of professionalism and customer service by the manager, Marcy, when we brought these concerns to her. We had to tether our mobile data in order to do work on our laptops which took us over our plan. When I asked if they would consider a partial refund to cover our mobile data overage I was told by the manager that I should've told them we needed Wi-Fi and that they would have given us a room with better reception. Wi-Fi is a standard amenity... you don't specify that you need Wi-Fi. Then to blame the customer for the situation is absurd! Marcy, the manager, also said it was Viacom's fault that the internet's service is so bad. What kind of leadership continues to blame others and customers for their failures? I asked to speak to the owner who did not want to speak to us but relayed the message to the staff to tell me that no refund will be made and that Wi-Fi is an amenity only and so they are not held responsible if there is no Wi-Fi during a stay. I'm at a loss for words as to how tone-deaf a hospitality business can be and for their lack of business acumen! Instead of listening to my concern I was immediately told no refund would be given and that it wasn't their fault that the Wi-Fi was out. A better approach would have been to first listen to the PAYING CUSTOMER and acknowledge that it was not ideal for us to not have Wi-Fi and that they will make an effort to rectify the situation soon for other PAYING CUSTOMERS and that though we can not refund a portion of your stay due to the loss of your mobile data we would like to offer you this ____________ instead knowing that this is your 3RD STAY WITH US. Then, leave it up to us to take or leave the offer. We might have been happy with the offer or not but NO OFFER screams WE ARE IN IT FOR THE MONEY AND NOT FOR BUILDING A LASTING BRAND! As another reviewer said, you get what you pay for.…
Not worth it. The entire carpeted floor was damp, beds were very uncomfortable and the walls were PAPER THIN. We could hear the next door person’s phone alarm clearly and it woke us up, so not a place for sensitive sleepers or families. Usual basic hotel amenities; TV, fridge and microwave. Shower was very weak. Breakfast was stale cereal, oatmeal packets and pre packaged muffins. Just not worth the price.
We stayed here because they are dog friendly and didn't have dog weigh restrictions like other hotels/motels. Friendly staff, clean rooms, nothing fancy, but I like you can park right outside your room. Close to lots of activities.
Visited for 2 nights. Pet friendly which I like but they indicated at the front desk that pets were allowed only in certain rooms on one side of the hotel and we found that to be false as there were dogs in the room 2 doors down from us when we were told that pets were on the other side. My sister stayed here earlier and stayed o. The other side and was give the opposite story on where pets were allowed. Room was heavily sprayed with some sort of deodorizer, could not air it out very well. The tub / shower drain was very slow, taking a shower you ended up with 2 inches of water in the tub. The continental breakfast was coffee, tea, some small prepackaged muffins or cereal. With limited hotel choices in the area they charge what they can get but not what they are worth.
This is your basic Inn at a good location off the highway. The rooms are clean and well kept. The pool is nice. The breakfast is free but no hot food except for the coffee, area is clean and well supplied.Parking is great, right in front of your room. This worked fine for I tow a boat.It is 20 minutes from a landing into Indian River Bay.Which is why I booked here. And the weekday prices are much better than out at the coast.Food,Gas,Shopping, are all around it.Also it is a straight shot down highway 113 to the Ocean City turnoff if you wanna boardwalk one night.I am not a beach person normally. The boat is my beach.
It wasn't bad but was definitely not someplace I would highly recommend. The staff were good, room was fairly clean, but is dated. Nothing made us want to stay there again. But nothing was so bad that I would warn others away. Just not something I would recommend.
I booked this hotel based on the reviews they had on other sites. The sites were an 8, so I thought ok, I will give them a try. We wanted to visit Lewes, Rehoboth, and Ocean City Beaches. We were staying for the weekend. Well, when we checked in we weren’t that impressed. It seemed clean enough. The beds were like right on the ground which I thought was odd. The shower handle didn’t work, and she curtain was about 3 inches too short from the shower, so it got water everywhere. The first night we were there was ok. There didn’t seem like any issue to be had. That morning, there was a cleaning lady who knocked asking is we needed anything, and we just asked for towels. We left, went to a couple beaches the next morning, and were gone all day. While I was undressing in the bathroom I noticed a large spider. Not a huge deal, because that can happen. What I was not prepared for while taking a shower, was seeing a large cockroach crawl out from under the wall. I yelled for my husband, and he killed it. I finished my shower. I got out of there and we thought, maybe a one time deal. We’ve never dealt with them before, so I now know that was a stupid thought. I went to get dinner for my family, came back, and my husband found and killed another one. We then decided that we had better pack up all our stuff. I called the front desk and told the girl and she said “Eww, that’s gross! Let me check and see if I can get your room moved.” I never heard back, so I walked down to the office, and they had just had a switch. The manager was now working. The girl did tell the next person what was going on. She says to me I can do one of two things. I can come and spray your room or refund your money. I cannot change your room, because then I will have to spray two rooms. I immediately said I want a refund. We hadn’t been happy since we got there, and the amount of $$ we were paying, it was t worth it. There were other people staying there that were shady. We grabbed our stuff and left. Today, the kicker, they told the 3rd party we didn’t show up for our stay, so I was going to be charged again for the first night as well as the night we were refunded, which is incredibly shady and ridiculous. Do yourself a favor, save yourself the headache and just pay more more for a decent room. …
We read some of the reviews and thought we would try it. If you like scratchy towels, lumpy beds and house cleaning that neglects to leave you cups and a bath mat, then you should stay here. One night there was an ant on my pillow. We will not go back
