This is a very pleasant Inn located in the heart of Lewes. Our room was large and comfortable with a lovely view and balcony. Very pleasant staff. Nice simple breakfast. The decor is dated and an odd mix of Asian art, colonial-ish and miscellaneous without a cohesive design.
A very nice place to stay, within walking distance of quite a few restaurants and shops. A nice waterfront restaurant also, very busy and well staffed. Highly recommend it. Lewes was a pleasant surprise. Only knew it as the ferry destination from Cape May. Worth a visit.
We were traveling through Lewes via the ferry. We only needed a room for one night. Inn at Canal Sq. Has a 2 night minimum but they found us a space. The room was very well appointed, clean and had a wonderful view. The absolute high point was breakfast! We’ve NEVER had such a wonderful breakfast included with our room. Over 8 varieties of fresh fruit- berries, melons, bananas, oranges-etc., cereals, pastries, toast, bagels, and the best smoked salmon(lox). I’ll come back just for the breakfast.
We came in for a week for Christmas. Ended up staying almost two weeks. The staff was wonderful! The Inn was decorated so beautifully. The breakfast room was just delightful. Not a single concern. Can’t wait to come again this spring.
Just returned from a 3 night stay at the Inn at Canal Square and it ticked all the boxes we want from a hotel. The 4th floor room was spacious, quiet and had a nice view over the canal. Everyone we came in contact with in the hotel was very friendly, the breakfast was a good selection of fruits, pastries, breads, hard boiled eggs and cereals (more than adequate). Parking was plentiful and its location in town is perfect. We will certainly be returning again and it will be very soon !
We are on the second day of a four night stay, and this is one of the best small hotels we have ever visited! I decided to write a review now because I had seen some negative reviews, which were very puzzling. Our harbor view room on the third floor is large, well furnished, and immaculately clean. We love the balcony! The bed linens and towels are especially nice. The staff members are very helpful and always say hello when we walk by. The room is quiet at night, even though the hotel is full. There were ample selections at the breakfast buffet, and plenty of free parking for hotel guests. We chose this location because we like to walk. Today we left our car in its parking space and walked all over town. Lewes is a charming town with so many good places to eat, historical buildings, and other things to see, all within easy walking distance. (We are in our seventies.) When we arrived and were going up to our room in the elevator, a couple in the elevator with us told us they had stayed in the Inn many times before, and it is the best place to stay in Lewes. We agree!…
We stayed at this fancy Inn in Lewes De. for two nights. The room was large and very comfortable with a great balcony view of the canal. The staff were exceptional and the European breakfast was great. We’ll definitely stay there again next time we come
Centrally located, this is a quaint and charming venue, within walking distance of everything in downtown Lewes. Incredibly friendly and informative stafrf made the experience a pleasant one right from the start. We had a wonderful room on the top floor...dormered, with a great view of the water. Clean, bright, efficient...with nice breakfast also.
The central and charming location of the Inn makes up for many of its shortcomings but at $350 per night it should not have rooms with walls so thin that we could distinguish what our next-door neighbors were saying nor hear those in the room above doing what sounded like moving furniture. Noisy climate control, refrigerator and dehumidifier didn't help the situation. Maybe some of the rooms are quieter--it would be worth checking when you book. The hotel is very clean and the staff is gracious. We liked Harbor restaurant, which was steps away.
We stayed here pre-COVID and hope to return again soon. I'm never sure about charming places and how up-to-date the rooms will be. The beds were amazing! The town was great, quiet, friendly and a short driving distance to the beaches. We can't wait to visit again. This tops our list of getaways!
