If you want great service, the Hyatt Dewey Beach is a must! Not only was the staff the best I have ever experienced, the hotel was also amazing and exceeded expectations. Clean rooms and a great location!
Had a great time . The Hyatt Place was the best rooms were clean food was good . The service was Excellent. The sleeping in the room better than last time. The parking was excellent .we need not have to pay for parking .The parking was secure and under surveillance.made me feeling good about leaving my car there.
This hotel was in a great location and had everthing we were looking for, free breakfast, an indoor pool and a work out room. The hotel was clean and well mantained. We had bad weather while we where there but made use of the pool and lighthouse resturant so we made the best of it.
I spent a week at this hotel and it was an absolute pleasure. All of the staff I encountered were friendly and added to the enjoyment of my stay. I was assisted above and beyond with unpacking and packing my vehicle with a lot of photographic equipment due to my having a prior injury that was hampering my mobility. The included breakfast was substantial and the other meals provided for the event I was attending were well cooked and delicious. I would definitely recommend a stay at Hyatt Place, Dewey Beach.
This was my second stay at the Hyatt Place. The staff is amazing! The property is close to the beach (1 block walk) and boosts the most amazing sunsets on the bay side! This year the Lighthouse Bar and Grill opened (behind the hotel) and offers really food and adult beverages. The back deck is the perfect place to relax and watch the sunset. This is a must stay hotel.
Hotel was clean and had all the amenities. The front lobby was big and perfect for our large group of softball players and parents. Front desk staff were friendly, patient and extremely accommodating.
A very nice place to stay, worth it and recommend.. Rooms are clean and spacious. Worth staying and close to the beach.. Breakfast was fine, very good area to eat breakfast. Had a big group (softball team) and nice bar behind the hotel.
OVERALL RATING: Poor Positives: Room was very nice. Breakfast buffet much better than most similar hotels. Staff friendly and polite. Lighthouse bar/restraunt great for happy hour and casual dining. Negatives: Very little sound dampening between rooms. Normal anticipated hotel noises (slamming doors, etc) much worse than usual. "Pet Friendly" policy execution more like "Pet Stupid". More on that below. Overall our experience was such that while this hotel was nice, our stay was ruined by other inconsiderate guests that the hotel could/would not deal with. We will not stay there again. Our Stay: Before I start, let me make clear we are dog friendly people. We've had dogs all of our lives, and regularly stay in hotels advertised as "Pet Friendly". But those hotels isolate the pets allowed rooms from no pet rooms, usually by floor, so that those with pets don't become a problem for those traveling without pets or with pet allergies. Hyatt Dewey Beach does not. We were greeted on day 1 by multiple barking dogs in the room across the hall and paper thin walls. After listening to them for two plus hours, we reported it to the front desk who said they would speak to the owners. When we returned from dinner the dogs were still barking, and the front desk offered to move us elsewhere in the hotel. In normal circumstances this probably would have been okay, but the hotel was filled with dogs due to some form of doggy convention. Since moving somewhere else would clearly not necessarily get us a quiet room, we suggested they move the nuisance dogs elsewhere as we had three families/rooms that would need movement. The front desk said they would speak to the owners again. Over the next several days the dogs were kept quiet when the owners were with them, but barked non-stop when left alone (which was quite often). After three days of listening to barking dogs, we were ready put the Hyatt Dewey Beach behind us. Let me be clear that the problem was not with dogs in general. The vast majority of dogs at the hotel that weekend were well behaved. The problem was with a dog owner that had no consideration for other guests, and a hotel staff that seemed unwilling to deal with the issue. It is inconceivable that the owner didn't know that her dogs were barking when left alone, but she continued to leave them alone regularly (even at 6:30 in the morning) while she and her family continued their vacation. And the staff needs to know how to handle a nuisance or change "We're Pet Friendly" to "We're Pet Stupid".…
If you're looking for a hotel that allows dog's to bark at all hours and welcomes them into the dining room even at breakfast then this is the hotel for you! The kicker is that the hotel management just didn't care. It was bad enough that they allowed the noise but that they let them in the place where food was prepared and eaten was horrendous. My daughter in love is allergic to dogs so she couldn't enjoy a hot breakfast. (My wife and I have rescued and adopted bulldogs and cocker spaniels for over 30 years. )We would NOT be put off if my pups weren't allowed in the dining room - they have no business there. Animals are not always sanitary. Nor would we be put off if we were told we'd be assigned a room on a designated pet floor. Plus, some people have had traumatic experiences with dogs, may not like them or could be allergic to them. Hyatt doesn't care. So enjoy your Hyatt bed where a dog could have snuggled the day before and, if you're allergic, enjoy your hives. As for us, we'll be booking elsewhere.…
Overall a great staff and hotel was clean, but off season more than $300+ a night seems overpriced in that area. Very close to the beach and access to all the great food was within 15 minutes driving.
