Spent one night at Watermill Inn - just wish it'd been longer. The Inn was sadly flooded at Christmas and has recently re-opened . The staff were friendly and helpful, the room and ensuite were beautiful - our room even had its own balcony with lovely views. We had an evening meal and a breakfast and the food was excellent.... Found this recommended online, lovely homely country pub. The car park is very small but there was plenty of space for parking along the road. We started with the marinated olives and sun blushed tomatoes, they were absolutely amazing! You have to try these if you visit! I had the Cajun burger and the other half had the steak and... More

We had deliberately chosen to drive over here, having read the reviews. A little bit off the beaten track but well worth the find. We weren' eating but others were and there were no complaints. Portions good. Plenty of real ales on tap and in bottles. We brought a couple of there own brew back with us At £2.90 a... More

Had spotted this when looking for accommodation but decided it was a bit far away from where we wanted.Made a point of stopping to try some of their beer. There is a small car park otherwise it's parking on the road. The weather was horrendous so it was a quick dash from the car- were not able to take in... More

We visited here for Sunday lunch. We knew we couldn't book and there were 9 of us. We turned up at 12.15 and the staff were so helpful putting tables together to accommodate our party. The food was delicious, service great - the staff couldn't do enough to help us. We'll definitely be heading back. They also have a micro-brewery... More

Went for a meal on Saturday evening - the inn welcomes dogs, so we found a table inside. The menu is extensive and choices really good to suit all tastes. The food is cooked to order, so might take a bit longer than normal, but it is well worth the wait. The owner of the inn clearly loves dogs and... More

My wife and I were having a short break in the Lake District with our dog as part of my birthday and booked 2 nights at the Watermill Inn as it seemed to have good reviews for being dog friendly. Arrived, filled in the registration form and then was shown to our room which was in the attic on the... More

Three of us buddies ex-Durham Uni stayed the night of the Kendal Fairport Convention concert 10th June. The stay was excellent, beer brewed a few yards from where you drink it, all the beers have dog themes, and there's some great dogs and friendly owners there. Food was great, as was brekky - they even extended to give another brekky... More

Visited whilst on a break nearby as we heard it was dog friendly and we had ours with us. We loved the place. It's definitely dog friendly and a lovely pub to boot. There is a bar to one side of the pub for people who don't have dogs I believe, but we didn't go in that room so can't... More
