Great Place to stay in quaint Woodbury CT , rooms are clean , beds are amazingly comfortable . Very quiet yet close to great places to eat , antiques, brewery and vineyards. Check in is like how you would for an AirBNB , access codes and things to know through text or email as there are no attendants onsite . Very responsive and friendly. I recently made my third reservation .

We have stayed here on a number of occasions and the previous review is correct: there is no one in the office, ever. We were just lucky, I guess...we made a reservation via phone which is not really necessary in winter. When we got there, of course office was locked. Sign on door says "for service, call Jack at xxx-xxxx. " So we call and a guy with a very strong foreign accent answers. We could hardly understand him, asking him to repeat everything . Jack says he left the key under the mat! OK, key was there. He also said there is a paper in the room for payment: fill it out when you leave with credit card info, etc.
LOL...what a way to do business!
But room was clean, a little worn and a bit musty but as clean as it could be. Bed was really comfortable, Keurig pods and creamers were on the desk. Enough towels, etc. Heater worked fine.
So, in a nutshell, this place is cheap, quiet and pretty clean but not luxury. At $80, we won't complain !

I needed a motel close to my business when i lost power at home from hurricane aisias. they had one room and i booked it.
it had power, tv, free internet and AC. perfect
and close to all the restaurants in town
the room was a good size, big enuff for a king size bed with ample room around.
it was neat and clean..sparkling clean. and the bed was great
I even booked a 3rd night but the power at home came back and i cancelled it. The young lady who runs the place and seems to be alone there was always accomdating. She reversed the charge for a 3rd night. not many motels or hotels do that.
I am so glad to have found it available. it only has 12 rooms i believe.

This place was clean and easily accessible. There are no hotel in the area but you don’t need a lot of choices when you have availability here. It’s very basic but has everything we needed. They do not have breakfast had daily cleaning of the room and there is a wonderful cafe across the street. It my go-to in the area.

My wife and I were traveling to CT from eastern long island for a family event on May 16, 2015. We normally stay at one of the other hotels in the area, but due to it being graduation weekend, everything else was booked. We made an online reservation that was confirmed for that date, and I even called the day before to ensure that everything was ready for us.
Upon arriving that evening after a 3.5 hour drive, the manager informed us that there was no room for us and that he could not help us. By his demeanor, it appeared that this was not the first time this had happened.
We had to scramble at 7pm on a Saturday evening to find a hotel in the area, which wound up costing us a lot more money and quite a bit of aggravation.
This was a truly horrible and stressful experience. I would not suggest staying at this hotel as you certainly run the risk of your reservation not being honored.

The rooms seemed clean enough BUT other things were off. The bed wasn't a king-sized bed as stated on the website. I have a king-sized bed at home and this was smaller. Also missing was the microwave and a desk chair. All in all, there were too many trips to the manager's office just to get the amenities that should have been there in the first place. The manager bullsh***** way too much also. We couldn't believe anything he said.

We reserved two rooms for a Saturday night on12/13/14 while visiting family in Woodbury. The rooms where clean and updated, the King sized bed very comfortable. The only negative about the room its self, was the noise from the in-wall room heater, which was loud and made popping sounds every time it came on to bring the room up to temperature.
HOWEVER..., while our adult daughter was in her room awaiting the arrival of another family member, the hotel mgr. entered the locked room without knocking and said he thought my daughter had left the room and that he was looking for his cell phone, which he thought he had left in the room. I didn't find out that this had happened until later that evening when we returned from a family gathering. I did not confront the mgr, and he not seek us out to explain his actions,or did I physically see him since we checked in...We left early the next morning, dropping our key-card in a box near the managers door. This experience leaves me doubtfull to anyone's personal safety, or security when staying at this establishment under the current management.

The rooms are very nice, clean and cleaned daily with fresh linens. We enjoy the location very much as it's in Woodbury, and close to Southbury also. We stay here every time we visit family in CT. Visit Dottie's diner across the street when you stay here. The food and atmosphere are both very good. This little town has all the amenities you need! If you're looking for night life, I'm afraid you'll have to drive....there's little to be had here.

The outside looks like a clean, nondescript roadside motel.

Then you open the door to a recently renovated room, great linens, aveda products, sweet "french" decor, coffee machine and the nicest service from everyone. The room value for the price is excellent. Restaurants are all within walking distance (and listed on their website - thank you). The hotel is also "just off" the main road, which helps keep the traffic sounds down.

it is true that there is not always someone at the front desk, and if you are an international traveller, the note to call them when you arrive doesn't help as I don't have an international plan on my phone. I hope they simply think of making the hotel phone accessible to anyone checking in so that we can immediately get in touch with the property manager. Arrange your arrival time in advance and you should be ok.
