Absolutely stunning views over the rolling tea plantation surrounding it. Cooler up here which is a blessing but still in the sunshine. We acheived a cracking tan by the pool. It is so peaceful. This would be a good place to come to recuperate from your flight to Colombo as it is not too far in Sri Lankan terms from... More

I have spent several nights in top 5 star hotels all around the World, in different continents but never seen a place like this. The surroundings are incredible. The pictures added dont really makes the place justice, as it at least ten times More beautiful in reality. The staff is super friendly, especially the manager who takes good care of... More

If you want to visit the tea plantations and surrounding areas and are ok with the windy roads from kandy then this is the place for you. The path to the hotel is for a 4 x 4 However it is worth the potholes. Beautiful bungalow awaits. As we were only guests we were upgraded to master suite .lovely size... More

An hour or so south of Kandy, the house sits atop a bumpy, winding track flanked with hand-painted (and sometimes contradictory!) motivational slogans for the tea-pickers. The house itself is a welcome sight, a little slice of Britain amid stunning scenery, with liveried staff attending to your every need. After a while, we were left unsure whether we were getting... There are many good hotels, there are a few spectacular hotels, But once in a very long while there is a location that is so special that it must be truly hidden. And the Lavender House is truly a hidden Gem. To find it you must travel some 30 plus Km up a road that will give any true sports... More

We spent two nights at this lovely home converted to a boutique hotel high in the tea country. We had two rooms and both were large, airy, clean and beautifully furnished with huge four poster beds. We did the half board option and the food was lovely - always a Sri Lankan choice and a western choice. WE took the... More

This truly is a unique experience. Built in the 1890's (we managed to find a date of 1894 on the height chart in the sitting room), this is a wonderful old cottage situated in the middle of the Hellbodde tea plantation. Between Kandy and Nuwara Eliya, it is a very relaxing spot for a break. The house itself is old,... More

It is a couple of years (April 2012) since my wife and I, and a friend spent three wonderful nights here. Beautiful big old-fashioned rooms and friendly service from start to finish. Lunch by the pool? Easy! Breakfast and lunch were relatively basic but evening meals were great. The dining room is impressive. Morning cuppas in the room, with a... More

I really want to give this place a fabulous review but I can't. I'll start with the positives..... - excellent service. Made to feel so welcome - delicious food. Menu changes daily. Chef comes to take your order of either Sri Lankan menu or international cuisine. Cooked to good standard. Breakfast was a choice of cereal and toast or cooked.... More

We stayed here for one night on a recent tour of Sri Lanka. It was the adults favourite stay and won the family award for the best pool. It is a fair distance outside Kandy which may make it inconvenient. However the service and the setting were fabulous. The rooms were luxurious and felt individual.
