I don't want to punish this hotel because of the area it's in so I'm keeping that in mind while I give this review. The hotel itself is nice. The renovations really did help. First our room was a little bit small but did have two comfortable beds. The bathroom was ok nothing great but the shower was excellent with the new speakman shower head. TV had the basic channels. The pool was small, exercise room was good. Staff was very friendly and helpful. Check in was not a problem. Elevators were good never had to wait. What I didn't like was the parking ( 12 ) dollars a day and valet service sometimes were overwhelmed where you can be waiting for your car. The other thing was the area where it was very desolate at night and some shady people lurking around. I didn't try the restaurant attached to it either. Don't think I'll be returning due to the area. All in all it did serve it's purpose. The plus did out weigh the negative. Also the place was clean.

I stayed long term at the Marriott in Waterbury I had a beautiful king suite for my entire stay in the hotel workers were phenomenal and always greeted me with a smile. Carlin, Dave, Nadia just to name a few were always helpful and made this hotel feel like home. The entire valet staff and front desk staff never missed missed a beat. Even the housekeeping staff were always pleasant. I would recommend this location for an overall 5/5 star stay. Ohh Debbie thank you for the nail shop recommendation. And Taj’e this you man I tell you. Hard working black man and in college. Always smiling. God bless y’all. There is no place like home but I never felt like I wasn’t home with you guys❤️

The Courtyard in Waterbury is typical of what you find. They have changed their parking to Valet for $12/day or you can park yourself for $2/hr, so make sure to use Valet. The food at the "cafe" is hit or miss, one time is is just OK, the next it may be cold when it should be hot. There is an Italian restaurant next to it. Most of the restaurants near by are pub style and you could consider them dives.

There is not much going on in this town so this seemed liked the place to stay. Our check-in seemed very pleasant, we were nicely treated and were using a free night to stay, we were told because we were silver Elite and because we booked on line that we were to use the premium internet. We did not request or ask about this and did not care as we were only staying one night. We were told how to use it and that it was free to us. It was on our bill the next month. When we checked out last Sunday we were told that the personal at the desk could not deal with it and would need to speak to the person that offered it and that we would be contact. 5 days later and still have not heard from them. Stupidity, but it has left negative thoughts about honesty of the establishment. The hotel was clean, staff was pleasant, there was a gym , restaurant and everything to meet ones needs and restaurants within a 5 minute walk in a very challenged city.

We recently spent a night at the Courtyard Marriott in Waterbury and I was completely surprised at the across-the-board superior level of service and condition of the property. I was expecting a semi-dogeared hotel with an exhausted and semi-interested staff. Everyone--from the valet, to the bellmen, to the front desk crew (late night and early morning) -- was happy and friendly even though they had a number of large events going on--lots of families. The hotel is in beautiful condition, super clean. Our room was fully equipped with amenities to make this quick, unplanned trip comfortable. Plus, we really appreciate Marriott's commitment to sustainability--refillable, high-quality products in the bath and shower; and glass glasses. The only plastic insight were the wastebasket bags which I hope will be the next to come off the list. To top it all off -- one of Connecticut's most classic and finest restaurants, Diorio's is attached to the hotel so all-in-all, it was a win-win!
