Went to Mohegan this past weekend and was very disappointed. Before COVID we stayed over about six times per year. My complaint is about the lack of restaurants open on a Monday night and the way our reservation was treated. On Sunday night a few minutes before 9pm I received a phone call saying our reservation at Tom Urban’s was cancelled for the next night. How can you call me at 9pm with this cancellation!!! Did you not realize during the day that you will be closing for renovations starting the next day —- Monday!!! How unprofessional. Where was I to make a reservation for Monday at 9pm Sunday night. It was a special anniversary dinner for us and all our tastes in food were booked for Monday already. So, our anniversary special dinner was at Johnny Rockets!!!! As far as the room it was clean but not enough towels and shampoos. The maid cart was outside our room so the housekeeper was able to provide us. My problem is that if you know that there is no housekeeping services why don’t you leave a few extra towels in the room for guests staying two nights. Very inconvenient. Again, the most disappointing and frustrating part was lack of food on a Monday night and the abrupt cancellation of our Monday dinner being cancelled at 9pm on Sunday. Again, no offer of helping us secure another reservation. Just I’m sorry your cancelled. Too bad this was a special anniversary dinner. Oh well. Of course I did not win but that was expected. What was expected was better customer service.

We came out to Mohegan Sun for my husband’s 40th birthdays; rented 7 rooms at the Sky Hotel; dropped $3,700 in a private dining room at Michael Jordan’s fine dining steakhouse; and when it came time to gamble - A TOTAL LETDOWN!!! Liznette the table boss let as know that they only 1 $50 roulette table in the entire casino and that we could sit in the background and wait until somebody felt like leaving because there wasn’t enough staff however there were 10 other tables with more than a $50 buy in. So good job Mohegan Sun for trying to completely alienate your guests. I’ve never had such a hard time losing money at the Casino. We came here to drop $$$.

Spent 2 nights here with family during the previous week. There is plenty of On Site Free parking but note you will have a long walk from the garage to the hotel check in desk. Apparently you do have the option to drop your luggage off with a bell person at hotel before parking in the garage but we chose to hold onto to our luggage. Check in was quick, we arrived at 2 pm and received keys to one of our two rooms, the keys for the other room were ready at 3 pm. We were in the Sky Tower and the rooms are very clean, spacious and nicely furnished. We were on the 10th floor and had nice views of the Thames River. The beds had firm mattresses and were very comfortable. Overall sleep quality was good. The room has adequate closet space, a flat screen tv, in room safe, mini fridge, 2 comfortable sitting chairs. Bathroom was also a good size and toilet had a door that you could close for privacy if others are in the bathroom. We did not use the fitness center but it looked nicer and larger than the typical hotel gym. We did use the pool that was located in Sky Tower....the pool was very large but also very crowded. There were quite a few families with children at the pool...the children and the teenagers made no effort at social distancing whatsoever and the pool was crowded enough that keeping 6 feet away from other people was impossible while in the pool. It did not appear that anyone was monitoring how many people were coming in and out of the pool area. Hotel has quite a few dining and drinking options but keep in mind that most of the restaurants do require a reservation. Upon check in, we asked about this and were told that only the "fine dining" restaurants needed a reservation and that reservations were not needed for any of the "casual dining" options. We then asked specifically about MJ Sports bar and Grill and were told that the MJ Steakhouse requires a reservation but the Sports bar does not. So we decided we would have dinner at MJ Sports bar, we showed up a little before 6 pm and were told they do require reservations and that they are fully booked for the whole evening. We mentioned that hotel desk told us reservations aren't needed and the hostess replied "I wish they would stop telling people that". There were about 5 empty tables and we asked if we could get one of the empty tables but were told those tables were reserved. We then tried another "casual dining" option Ballo Italian and figured we would be okay as we walked by and saw that the majority of the tables were empty. However we were told that Ballo also requires reservations and that they had nothing available for 2 hours. We pointed out to the hostesses that there were many empty tables and were told the tables were booked and would be full within a few minutes. We finally did manage to get a table at Summer Shack seafood restaurant and had a great meal. We also had dinner the other night at Landsowne Irish Pub and the food there was also top notch pub food. As far as the bars go, we found that all of the bartenders on the casino floor and in the other bars had a very surly attitude and a couple of them raised their voices at us when we asked simple questions. The bartender at Tom's Urban brought us the beers we ordered and asked us "what are you eating, state law says you have to order food". I think the bartender should have told us this upfront and not wait until after the beers were brought to us. We replied that we were not hungry, the bartender was clearly annoyed but agreed to put chips and salsa in front of us so that we would have our required food. We did some gambling both nights (Tuesday and Wednesday) and found the slot machines to be cold on both nights. Casino was not as lively as we have seen it in the past which was surprising because we went to Foxwoods mid week several months ago and the Foxwoods casino was very lively. Overall customer service was also more consistent at Foxwoods so while the hotel here is very nice, we will probably stay at Foxwoods the next time we come to this area for a casino.
