Very cool historic inn. The rooms were appointed with comfy beds and antiques. We had a very nice large shower and private bathroom. We never got a chance to meet the owners, we showed up a little late and left a little early in the morning. They don’t serve an actual breakfast. There is a dining room with 24 hr. muffins, yogurt, fruit, juice, and Keurig. We will return!
This is an absolutely beautiful old inn in an historic area of Connecticut. What a sweet spot, full of charming antique details, homemade treats in the morning, along with coffee and tea and yogurts for guests. Sparkling clean with friendly helpful hosts. I will be be back for sure!
So happy I chose Spring Hill Inn. I had a work event at the UConn sports facilities that went late into the evening and started back up early in the morning so I needed a place to stay close by for 1 night. The Inn was 5 minutes from campus and for an added 2 minutes you could drive through “downtown Storrs” for anything you may need (shopping, restaurants, pharmacy, coffee, etc). I texted Lee to arrange check in and he was extremely accommodating. He met me at my requested time and showed me where everything was and how everything worked. My room was spacious enough (queen bed and single) with a desk and private bathroom. Everything was clean and comfortable. The fresh flowers, complimentary water and mints were a welcoming touch. There were toiletries and a blow dryer in the bathroom as well as ironing board and a room fan (AC temp was fine). There was a coffee station open 24/7 with coffee, tea, fruit, yogurt and oatmeal. In the morning a basket of fresh fruit nuts and muffins/cinnamon bread were left for each room. I thought this was an adorably thoughtful touch. The owners were extremely kind and paid attention to detail even remembering my name and checking that I found everything I needed during my stay. I felt safe and comfortable here. The location was perfect for me as I wanted to have as much time to sleep and as little time to travel to UConn as possible. All of the chain hotels I checked in the area were either too far or had bad reviews. The Inn offered a quiet comfortable night’s sleep and allowed me to get to and from UConn in 5 minutes. Would certainly stay again if needing a place near UConn. …
We had the pleasure of staying at the Spring Hill Inn on our quest to bicycle 50 miles in 50 states. The inn is first class in accommodation, service and our innkeepers experience. Our host waited on our late arrival to welcome us and tour the lovely inn. We enjoyed the well appointed room with high quality linens, very comfortable bed and room temperature. The grounds are pleasant and served as a relaxing location to enjoy a cocktail in their gazebo. We had a delicious breakfast with self serve coffee and other items always available, plus a breakfast basket that included home baked muffins/or poundcake. Lee shared the history of the house and the improvements of the house, as well as local information and recommendations. He helped us make the most of our short stay. We highly recommend the Spring Hill Inn.…
Our daughter just graduated from UCONN this weekend and I must say that I wish I had found this Inn when she first went there four years ago. I discovered it last year and have stayed there ever since every time I visited my daughter. The innkeepers, Diane and Lee go out of their way to insure your stay is perfect! The rooms are lovely and clean with comfortable beds and updated bathrooms. Every detail is personal and you feel right at home from the moment Lee greets you upon arrival. Lee and Diane take the time to get to know their guests and cater to their every need. The inn is located about 2 miles or so from the university. There are coffee/tea stations stocked for use 24/7. Breakfast is served in delightful baskets for each individual room and includes home baked goods, fresh fruit and extras. There is also yogurt, oatmeal, OJ and water provided. Fresh flowers in the rooms are another special touch. You won't be disappointed! Charming, impeccably clean and wonderful hosts! You couldn't ask for more!…
While I literally spent just a little under three hours st the Inn, my stay was a welcome respite. My room was beautifully appointed. I stayed in Room 5. The sheets on the queen bed were the softest I have ever felt! The bathroom was equally well appointed.
My sister and I traveled to Storrs for a memorial service and wanted to stay close to our relatives. Lee welcomed us with a smile, and helped us with our suitcases while he gave us the lay of the Inn and our room. Every detail has been thought out for the comfort of their guests. Diane has chosen the best quality sheets, makes delicious homebaked breakfast items with fresh fruit, and little details such as fresh flowers on the nightstands and in the halls. We loved the little breakfast baskets and hope she keeps that the way it is. The housekeeper noticed that we had used the plastic cups for a glass of wine the 1st night, so she left us proper wineglasses the next day when she serviced the room - a very thoughtful detail. We'd love to stay in this lovely Inn again!
We have season tickets to the UCONN Women Basketball team and it was Senior day and with the impending storm we didn't want to miss the excitement. We decided to take a quick getaway to Storrs and booked the Spring Hill Inn. It was wonderful. Lee met us and our room could not have been better from the king sized bed, to the smart television, to the shower. The breakfast was lovely and the home baked goods wonderful. Fresh flowers (in the middle of winter) were everywhere. I would definitely recommend if visiting UCONN to stay. It's only about 2 miles from the center of campus. Lee could not have been more accommodating when I told him we were running late and met us there. A new restaurant inside the inn will be happening soon and I look forward to returning. Thank you Lee and Diane for the wonderful experience.…
My wife and I enjoyed our stay at The Spring Hill Inn. The room was comfortable and welcoming. Nice bed and bedding. Wonderful towels in bathroom. Start the day with a hand delivered breakfast basket (baked goods, fresh fruit), also yogurt, oatmeal and Keurig items available. Lee showed us the Inn and a little about its history which made us feel welcome. We like to hike and there are some trails right across the street for a leisurely amble through the woods. The Inn is a mile down the road from UCONN. Well worth a stay.
House-owners: Lee and Diane are really friendly, makes me feel like another home in a foreign country. you could also having the handmade breakfast from the them! Moreover, they are willing to help and prepare all kinds of things you might need: the bus schedule; self-service coffee and juice, and so on. The building is vintage for me; rooms are clean and quite as well. the privacy is also a merit of this inn. It's a perfect place for enjoying your vacation or having a stop.
