Jennifer and her entire team were truly spectacular. They accommodated us in every way possible and truly made us feel extremely special. Our wedding day went off without a hitch and I know it was because the Heritages attention to detail and preparedness. The pool is extremely clean and the Tavern(Bar) stayed open for us after our wedding. Thank you again and we highly recommend this venue/hotel to anyone looking to book their wedding. We will be back just for a weekend away that’s how beautiful and amazing our experience was.
My partner and I planned a three-day stay at the Heritage Hotel, a hidden gem in Southbury, CT, and walked away refreshed, relaxed and ready to go back soon! Our guest room overlooked the charming brook and outdoor pool/deck area. Noise levels were good. Our week of "athletic" challenges continued at the Hotel beginning with 9-hole golf at the Pomperaug Golf Course, adjacent to the hotel. My first on a golf course and was grateful to the kind staff at the club for loaning me clubs and appreciate the patients of the regulars as a navigated the fairways. Overall super experience! The rest of the week we played tennis, swam in the indoor/outdoor pools, worked out in the fitness center, and relaxed in the hot tub. We enjoyed the Tavern and the hospitality of John who allowed us to bring out take-out food from the newly opened Southbury Seafood Market while enjoying a cocktail or two. Fresh seafood and well-prepared/presented; check out this place!!! Our stay finished with a spa treatment which was both relaxing and much needed. Most important were the people at Heritage that truly made this trip special. Beginning with Holly, the spa manager, who answered all my questions about the hotel and overall experience. She is a gift to the hotel! David the GM introduced himself to us immediately and kept abreast of our experience when seeing us on the property. We felt welcomed and a part of the Heritage family. We can't wait to make a second trip at a place that makes you feel miles away from home!…
This property is under construction as of 6/18/2022. Banging on roof and walls 8am - 8pm. Front desk staff rude and unreasonable, you have to really fight to get bathtub unclogged. Room air conditioners above you drop water onto your unit - sounds like a gunshot with each drip. Bill did not match printout from reservation on BW site, had to fight three layers of management to get it right. This is not Best Western quality, and front desk told me they were only "loosely affiliated" with BW. Food service is hit or miss. On the plus side, the large celebration dinner was excellent. Bar staff and housekeeper excellent.
I needed to write this review to tell how much I enjoy the athletic room they have. Annie is simply the best employee that I have dealt with there. She is very professional and goes out of her way to accommodate guests. It’s too bad the rest of their employees aren’t like her. I have been there at times and have heard more complaining between employees instead of just doing their jobs Most of them don’t even know what time of day it is. She is such an asset!!
Staff, service, food and atmosphere was great. The location is a quiet country setting. Indoor and outdoor pools, large gym. The hotel itself is old and needs an update. Rooms are on the smaller side, and bathrooms were tiny.
As a loyal guest of the Heritage Hotel, with golf, spa, Riverwalk Athletic and event center, I will say that this has been a lovely, enlivening home base to stay at during a transition. The Heritage team - Melinda, Gretta, of course Joe, the lovely young lady who greets me at the gym before I swim - all make sure you have what you need to enjoy yourself and feel at ease, bottom line. Shout out to the spa for all the healing, nourishing treatments that supported my renewal just in time for my webpage photoshoot—
My wife and I stayed at the Heritage Hotel while visiting our daughter in New Haven. The Heritage Hotel is very nice, very well maintained, and the grounds are very relaxing. This is one of the nicest BW hotels that we have used.
I had my daughter's wedding at the Heritage. What a perfect day! Jennifer, our wedding coordinator, guided us through the selection of the venue, the entire planning process, the wedding rehearsal, and was with us for the entire wedding day! She is the go-to person for wedding planning. Also, the property itself is beautiful and full of things for out-of-town guest to enjoy. They have a golf course, vineyard, two swimming pools, ping-pong, pool, and lots of outdoor space for the perfect wedding.
All of the staff are the most friendly people and so helpful to me the three times I I have come here for multiple days stays and I know by the first day everybody's first name including the managers! The first night I was just driving so late and couldn't believe I actually got a person on the phone at a front desk at any hotel oh, and it was after an awful experience leaving previous Motel I had just checked into at 9 p.m. driving in the dark with my dog and completely horrible customer service and the person was a manager on top of it Days Inn in Danbury and I live in New York and had to be in Connecticut the next day somehow I just kept driving looking nearby hotels\lodging and the Heritage came up on my GPS search and when I hit the dial button for the hotel I never expected a person to pick up the phone let alone happy actual location and that was Joe Murphy, the best why you ever want to pick up the phone when you are distressed, or anytime:-) he was so friendly and professional and actually calmed me down from the horrible experience I just had, as I was driving no, not knowing where I was going or staying that night... He just reassured me take your time and and I'll have a room for you and I was able to keep driving and not even worry about having to drive and use an app to reserve a room was just incredible he saved my life:-) I must have been on the phone with him for like a half an hour just getting there and he was so smart thank God he told me make sure you stop before take Exit there are no places open for any food or anything now. And thank God again that I got that, which again, was a lifesaver because I was able to stop at the last gas station little Supermart to get at least dog food I don't know what I would have done. But I was able to pick up some on there necessary things not to mention gasoline and something to eat for the night. And each time I took a wrong turn and got lost I would call him back and I finally got here and it was just such a great experience because and then I never expected everybody else here to be so helpful during my 4-day stay. That was an April and then I came back last minute in May I knew where I was going and feel so confident I could just show up or call somebody and tell them I was coming with my dog, even saying I don't know if I will have my the whole time:-) so I don't know if I will need the pet-friendly room again oh, I just need a close room to parking... I remember the first night I arrived Jo actually told me Park right next to me so you can bring your stuff in and the dog and just get settled and it was the closest I could get to the building and again another life safer. Well over the last couple of months, it has been so great knowing everybody I just call from my room if I need a different room and I know which person or manager I am speaking to and they spend so much time helping me out and so personal and as much as I forget names I automatically remember talking to the manager Liz first stay moved my room for me and had somebody come off and help me bring all my stuff down three levels perfect room next to my car and Anthony showed up at my door and he is the first person my dog never barked at:-) my dog just automatically knew Anthony was a great guy and must be a dog person. She just wags her tail and he grabbed all my bags and put them on the luggage cart and I'm so grateful not have to carry those. In the last couple of stays yeah, I got memorize all the other people helping me at the front desk and when I called and I say hi Caitlin or Greta or Rashad and he is new and he must have been on the phone with me five different times I called telling him where I was and trying to make reservation on my phone and he too was just so relaxed saying just take your time and drive safely and Joe Murphy was here late at night as usual when I check in always closing in on midnight by the time I get here with all my things that pop up with dog and last minute Arrangements. And I know who will be there in the morning when I am looking for something at 3 a.m. I know Joe will be out at the desk if I can't sleep I have talked his ear off and he is just amazing person. I think I must have talked to everybody so much that I never get anything on time and I don't even mind. I know I also had great experience in The Tavern & Bar dinner and Kayla such a great girl and the bartender and I stand at the door and she and the other bartenders see me standing there with my dog, because I don't want to go in there with her up to the bar:-) and they come over I tell them what drink I want or what to eat:-) and everyone just just so friendly and my dog just loves everybody and she is never like that. And I felt so great after I had upsetting or stressful day bar was closing and Kayla was still there and I'm trying to figure out what I could take back to room and she is just so patient and not rushing me even though I know she's trying to close up, going in the back for something they didn't have right there instead of shuffling me off. And then I even talked her ear off for another 15 minutes and it was like somebody I knew for years or maybe one of my younger nieces and the end of the night was so much better just because I was able to chat with her few minutes:-) and I'm so happy that when I need to be on the road and with no advance planning because of job or last minute travel from New York oh, I know exactly where I am going and the exit and who will be there... Whoever is on Duty at the front desk that night and inevitably closing in midnight as I finally make it through the front door I feel like I am at home but much better accommodations hahaha!…
