The price is cheap that´s why traveler don´t expect something special. The dinner there was bad and i don´t recommend it at all. This hotel just good for sleeping and that´s all.We stayed just one night. Staff are unfriendly.
The Manager was very helpful & friendly. The staff were very co-operative and helpful too. Overall a good experience. The ambiance is good. The beaches are nearby. Rooms are clean and nice. Although I found the internet very slow.
We booked for 3 rooms during our stay. They don't have an elevator and we stayed at 5th floor so if this is important to you do take note. I thought that this hotel is in Male as what the booking site states so we carelessly booked the hotel. You have to ride a ferry to Male then take a taxi to the next ferry terminal and then ride a ferry again to get to the island, Vilimale. It is just walking distance from the ferry terminal. I paid 10usd per person to help us with the transfer from terminal. They serve eggs, breads, fruits, pancakes, beans, tuna salad, juices and hot drinks for breakfast. There are convenience stores and a few restos around. Wifi is free but is slow. Staffs are nice and kind.
First of all, Vilingili is out of the way. Probably my own fault, but while the address includes "Male" on a quick glance I thought it would be on Male itself. While I only needed a short night in Male after a late arrival at the airport, going the extra mile and an extra ferry to get here is far from ideal. Moreover, for the price you pay for a box-room, you'd at least expect to have an airport shuttle and/or breakfast included. The hotel seems to run more on a basis to try to get as much "extra charges" out of the short stays of travellers. Staff was polite enough, a bit in a more formal rather than genuine way. The room was clean, but if you look closely it does need some maintenance. Bed lights were not working, a view on a back-alley, and linen / towels could use replacement as well. Wifi is there, but hardly reaches your room. In short, there's better options within the similar price-range in Malé.…
it is alright for one night, rather basic but clean. I stayed there for an overnight before flying to another island. Though it is quite far from the airport as you have to first get a ferry to Male then walk to another ferry terminal on the other side of Male (approx. 30 min) or take a taxi (approx 30-35 MVR). Staff is not overly friendly. They refused not to charge for 2 persons environmental tax fees even though I was staying alone (I had originally mistakenly booked for 2 persons online), surely they could have made the amendments.
Best you can find on the smaller island of Vilingili, only 20 minutes (ferry) from Male city. The place resembles other local buildings you would find in Maldives: talk and narrow. However, there was enough space for everyone. The people working here were very friendly and helpful.
If you need a room on Friday due to no public ferry to other island, this one is a good choice. Escape from Male by frequent public ferry 5-10 mins per time at Villingli Male ferry station. 3.75 MRP ticket only. Off break at Friday noon till 13.35. Room is good. Pay a little extra to choose the deluxe double room (what they call) coz it's bigger (17m compare to 11m of superior type). Must insist TWIN or DOUBLE bed you need and REMEMBER you room size type. I booked and paid for the BIG room, when check in they gave the SMALL. I must go down and up to ask them change my room size. They don't even allow you to check in before 2pm although they have room finished. Just sit at the super small lobby 1-chair-only with no A/C open (They have chairs at restaurant and A/C opened that side). Internet super slow. Anyway, a man manager (maybe) gave me access to staff wifi and it's better but just can be used at lobby. Good points: Close to public beach (no bikini allowed), many restaurants, shoppes around, lively local scene, clean hot shower with amentities.…
With only 24 hours in the Maldives we were going back and forth as to whether to stay on Hulhumale, Male or Villingili. We chose Villingili and we're glad we did - the ferry from airport to Malé was just 5-10 minutes and less than a $1. Walking across Malé to the ferry on the other side of the island was interesting at night - watching sports games, locals hanging out etc. The ferry to Villingili was 8 minutes and even cheaper than the first ferry. Topdeck has a polished feel about it - friendly reception, room as expected with AC and hot water. Next morning we opted for the buffet breakfast for $8 that was pretty good - cereal, toast, chapati, fresh tuna and cakes. We spent the morning snorkeling and some some great sea life, then had a quick lunch at a beach side restaurant with a view back to Malé. Overall a great experience. …
The worst trip of my life? Not that bad, but nearly, so think twice before you go to the Maldives. If you go to the local islands, there are a few that you can visit and stay at for a reasonable cost, there is no music, no bars, no friendly people and nothing to do.
This hotel is as i titled it basic and clean we used this hotel for a overnighter before going to one of islands, as someone mentioned in another post which we had neglected to read 2 ferries and a taxi later we arrived, This hotel is on the north atoll so not the mainland, saying that meh. The staff have been very helpful sweet is no longer on the front desk he handles the manual side of client transfers to and from the airport now and there is a competent gentlemen on the desk now ( sorry i cant remember his name ). Everything else mentioned in the other posts are pretty much correct. Budget Maldivian stopover.
