With only 24 hours in the Maldives we were going back and forth as to whether to stay on Hulhumale, Male or Villingili. We chose Villingili and we're glad we did - the ferry from airport to Malé was just 5-10 minutes and less than a $1. Walking across Malé to the ferry on the other side of the island...

The worst trip of my life? Not that bad, but nearly, so think twice before you go to the Maldives. If you go to the local islands, there are a few that you can visit and stay at for a reasonable cost, there is no music, no bars, no friendly people and nothing to do.

The hotel is on a small island (Villingili) 1km west of Male. Villingili has no cars so it lacks the chaos and noise of Male. The circumference of the island is around 2km - nice for a morning or evening jog. However, shops close early in Villingili. The minimart on the left of the hotel closes at 6pm and the...

Stayed at SeaHouse for one night only however it was a perfect introduction to village life in the Maldives. The public beach is close by and beautiful. There is another part of the beach where you can try various water sports. There were authentic Maldivian dishes on the menu which I loved, especially the Mas Huni for breakfast! I also...

We stayed in the hotel for 4 nights in Oct 2016. One of the best hotels if you are looking for a budget trip to Maldives. The island is quite small and well connected to Male city (10 mins by ferry). The island is a public island hence much cheaper compared to private islands. Also there are 2 beaches with...

We started our trip to Male in Maafushi and stayed there fore three nights in two different hotels. We enjoyed that little Island much but decided to travel and explore another island so we chose Vilingili which was a great disappointment. This is a very small and very dirty island which dont offer any private beaches, meaning you cannot swim...

I came to Male on a work trip. I stayed at Seahouse for 2 nights, went to South Maldives and came back for another 2 nights. I chose to stay in Seahouse for the second leg too. For the first stay I was in the premium room which was quite spacious for the price, although basic. It was perfectly comfortable...

I have to say that I really annoyed staying in this island. What one needs to know is that it is super small, a short ferry ride to the main island and has really nice people. It is a Muslim island so no bathing suits are allowed for women and there is no alcohol. Swimming with the locals was fun...

Booked this solely on price and stayed 1 night after 10pm arrival at airport. Collected at airport (USD $10) which covered ferry to Male, taxi to jetty and ferry across to another island Villingli. Staff very helpful and also arranged USD $20 speed boat seat for next day at 9am. The wifi worked, the bed was comfortable after a long travel...
