stayed here for a long weekend on our shakedown cruise with our new trailer. Staff was very helpful, bathrooms clean, multiple dump stations around the site. Pool was a lot of fun, highly recommended. Very good central location for Groton, Mystic, and Foxwoods Casino!!!! The place is kept clean, sites are gravel but very level. Great breakfast spot right down the road (see separate post for that place) "Somewhere in Time". Office hours are a little spotty, and the entrance could use a repaving. If coming from 95, I recommend taking the GoldStar highway (about a 7 mile straight drive).
We stopped at Mystic for the last two days of our Gettysburg trip and loved it. The campground is well laid out, very green, and the staff is fantastic, especially Ray the GM. We had a great time hanging at the pool and the kids made me stop on the way out so they could say goodbye. We had spot 112 which was at the end of one of the back-in rows. The pull-through sites looked a lot closer together, so I’d go with back-in as a recommendation. All in all a great geographic spot and very well run, highly recommend.
Friends of ours booked a site and we also signed up - we supposedly had adjacent sites, which was our goal. Our friends got there before us and discovered that their site hadn't been locked down, so the campground moved them. They tried to see if we could change both our sites to be together but were told the campground was fully booked for the weekend. Long story short, NO - the campground was maybe 2/3 full and we had a site across from us that was unoccupied and our friends had several sites - one of which was right next to them and was unoccupied the entire weekend. First FAIL for this campground. Then, we unexpectedly needed our grey tank pumped out and my husband went to the office and was told that since we were there less than 4 days, we couldn't be pumped out and were advised to disconnect and go to one of their two dump stations. I'm a wagonmaster for a large group and while I've encountered challenges post-covid with campgrounds, this was the worst experience I've had. Having paid $101/night/site - I would've expected much more customer service.…
I came down with some friends for Memorial Day weekend. The new manager Ray Benoit is a golden ticket. He went around on the hottest day and handed out icicle pops to everyone in the park. The last time I was here compared to now is night and day. Everywhere I went had tons of improvements. The staff was friendly and very helpful with any accommodations. 5 STARS ⭐️ ⭐️ ⭐️ ⭐️ ⭐️ I’ll be back again for sure!
We have been coming here on and off for a few years now. Last year we signed up for a seasonal site but with covid we were unable to travel out of state so we lost our site. This year we were and did sign up for a seasonal site. We have seen changes happening here. The management have been trying to bring things into the campground as well as some activities such as movie nights, live music ect. An ice cream truck and small kiosk was here for a few weeks when the store was limited due to covid. Pool and game room have since been opened. A dog park was added and well used. The grounds have been somewhat neglected over the past few years but are now being tended to and looking good. I personally watched a worker spend much time in the tent area cleaning and picking up making sure it looked good. She clearly takes pride in her work. We have been camping for over 30 years and there are no perfect places and you cant please everyone but so far we r very happy here. Location is great. Close to many restaurants and shops and beaches. We have enjoyed discovering the area. So far it's been a great experience. If you asked me today will I be back next year the answer would be absolutely. …
This was our third time here at the resort. We love it or we would not return. There is a new manager Cherisa, who is working harder than any manager we have seen. As with all businesses in 2021 no one wants to WORK and she dealt with it the best she could.. We stayed in the long term section and for over two weeks no one person struck up a conversation, down right unfriendly! We have stayed in the pull thru section and it was way friendlier with camper interacting with each other. With RVing for over 6 months a year for over 10 years hands down not a FRIENDLY PLACE…. The locals who rent out for the season year after year thought they owned the place! Nice staff, nice place but like all other places this year short of staff!! Owners need to fix the roads and level out the actual site, it was under water for days.…
Great Stay!!! Love this place!! See photo for details!! Never stayed at a Sun Resort, surprised by the HUGE sites for each camper, the super clean facilities and all the other amenities like pickleball, basketball and a brand new playground.
Really nice campground with big sites. No sewer hook ups which is a bit of a bummer, but I understand the honey wagon comes around every few days. Pretty close to Mystic attractions - only a few miles away. Dog and kid friendly and nice people working there.
No sewer hookups with complimentary honey wagon on your 4th day. So had to use water carefully in a small rig and use restrooms. The restroom was sometimes out of toilet tissue and floor washing consisted of slopping some water around — no wringer on mop, I guess. Floor then often wet with lots of tracked in dirt. Water was disgusting tasting, undrinkable so we purchased bottled water for ice cubes, coffee making. The sites are level, well spaced, pull through. Some nice, mature shade trees and grounds well kept. Location is convenient to aquarium and many other attractions. We found nearby walks and hikes, so likely to return. Checkin was easy, smooth.
The girl Paris at the front desk check in was so sweet and made the experience so much more enjoyable. The whole stay over all was just such an amazing experience! I can’t wait to return. Great for families, kids & or a little friends get away. If you’re looking for a great place for a great price, look no further you found your place!
