My stay here was beyond wonderful! Traveling with a girlfriend and this was our first stop in South Africa and we could not be more pleased. The rooms were so spacious with rainfall showers and a ton of natural light. The staff was beyond accommodating and welcoming and were eager to please and make our stay perfect. The restaurant there was 5 star service and the food was amazing, especially paired with the South African wine. They have their own private cellar you can tour and dine in.Breakfast was served at the same gourmet caliber every morning. We were able to enjoy movies in the on building theater, go on an amazing art tour and enjoyed massages at their spa. Overall this is an incredible getaway to find in Port Elizabeth I would recommend it to anyone venturing to P.E. or even a locals staycation.

We had a good stay for my husband’s birthday. The art collection is impressive. The furniture beautiful. But the hotel is a bit dated and needs a refresher. The restaurant food was good, but very old style as well.

We only stayed one night here, which is a great shame because it was so nice. The suite we had was beautiful in all ways, with it's own terrace and little garden. Large bedroom with two huge wardrobes, equally large lounge and bigger still, bathroom. My only complaint would be that the shower head was so high in the cubicle that, by the time the water reached me, most of it had passed me by. This was a great shame as there is an acute water shortage and a bucket is provided for the wasted water to go in. If they had only put another shower head on a slider on the wall, I would have needed far less water!! The communal areas are beautifully appointed with lots of comfy art deco chairs and tables to sit at and a very nice swimming pool with loungers. The food was pretty good too and the staff all friendly and helpful. They did all seem to be new though which is a bit odd and none of them knew the history of the building. I would definitely recommend it but do stay more than one night!!
