This quaint sixteen room Inn is located at the North end of the New Milford Green, the longest town Green in New England. Your visit with us includes our hearty continental breakfast served every glorious morning in our Victorian dining room. Enjoy a variety of yogurts, cereals, jams, cheeses, fruits, breads, muffins, juices, teas and coffee. And don't pass up the opportunity to try our signature dishes: fluffy egg bakes, bread puddings, French toast bakes, homemade breads and of course, Bill's (Not So) Secret Waffles which are talked about around the globe. This lovely corner of the Litchfield Hills offers something for everyone: fine dining; great antiquing; a wealth of trails for hiking, running, and cycling; lakes and rivers for boating, beaching, rowing and fishing; slopes for skiing and snowboarding; parks and playgrounds; local farms with seasonal fruits for the picking; year round festivals that showcase art, dance, and music; and so much more! And for those who don't want to stray too far from the Inn, downtown New Milford is just a short walk away. Main Street, Bank Street and Railroad Street are lined with shops and offer a wealth of restaurants - Italian, German, Mexican, Chinese, and Irish, just to name a few. Enjoy a self-guided tour of the town's antique homes, buildings, and churches; take in a movie at the Bank St. Theater; delight in the many summer concerts on the Green or simply take a stroll around the Canterbury School campus where both President John F. Kennedy and Paris Hilton were once students.

Thank you to the most amazing staff at the Homestead Inn. Natasha & Nicole went out of their way to make sure I was well taken care of, when my daughter couldn't attend the weekend away with me. They went above & beyond!! The Inn is spacious & gorgeous. A step back in time..Breakfast was delicious, my room was beautiful, clean and well kept...I'm coming back soon!

The room was nice. They even had enough towels. But they tried to charge us an extra $150 for "sneaking" our dog in. In fact, it is a service dog, and there was a remote check-in, so there was no opportunity to let them know the dog was there. I sent them the law, and then they said, there was dog hair. So I sent them the law again, which says you can't charge for dog hair, only damage. Then they said, there was damage. We had to throw out sheets and towels because they were stained too much to wash, and the room smelled like wet dog, so we couldn't rent it. I was the only one who took a shower. And the dog was never wet. We were there for less than 24 hours. I told them that. And interesting that they never raised these issues until I did. Then they sent us their policies. Which said if you have a service dog you have to stay in the annex. We were staying there anyway, but this is a blatant violation of the ADA, You can't deny someone access to what any other guest would have access to, and put them out to some outbuilding because they have a disability. We complained to them, disputed the bill, and filed a complaint with the Office of Civil Rights. And Homestead Inn, apparently, is either hostile to our concerns - and the law - or they just don't care. I would never stay there again.

Good location for our purposes. We didn't avail ourselves of the amenities. It was contact less check in and out so we really didn't interact with the staff. We would definitely stay there again. We visit New Milford once a year for a college fraternity reunion so we're really only interested in a clean and comfortable place to stay for a reasonable price. The Homestead Inn fulfills these goals.

Not many places to stay near New Milford. Awesome B&B walking distance to the green, with shops and reataurants. I grew up in New Milford and visit every so often. I'll never stay in Danbury again. Room was awesome, modern and super clean. If I had a complaint, and I would be being picky, the TV could have been a tad larger. Will definitely stay here again!

Everything about the stay at Homestead Inn exceeded my expectations! My daughter is a HUGE fan of the tv show Gilmore Girls and wanted to visit Connecticut for her senior trip. I made reservations here based on a comment in a blog about another fan’s travels chasing Gilmore Girls experiences. The pictures don’t do the Inn justice; everything looks better in person. My favorite part of our stay, besides breakfast, was sitting on the front porch. The town center (complete with a town gazebo) is a very short walk away. I would definitely stay here again and highly recommend it.

What I meant by that is that only Marilyn Monroe & John Kennedy as a young person lodged here,Thats All. This place is packed with history & there is a video screen you can watch while having breakfast to see it all unfold. We stayed in a room that was once part of the restaurant that was on the property for many years. It had exposed beams & was impeccably clean as was the main house. Staff was friendly & helpful. It is close to many farms that make ice cream & chocolates from their own cows.

We spent two nights at this luxurious and historical inn during March. The inn has superior charm and ambience. Additionally, there is significant American history contained within the inn...regarding famous guests. The breakfasts are delightfully arranged and each suite has charm. The owner, John, has put significant money and effort into making this destination very special. The location is also perfect - a short five minute walk to the downtown green.

The Homestead Inn is only an hour from our home, but my husband and I had never explored that part of our state and booked a room for one night so we could go hiking and leaf peeping. It was the perfect place to stay. We stayed in the Boardman room, which has a wonderful bay windows, lighting up the room. The en suite bathroom is small, but the tub was just right for an epsom salt bubble bath (found in the bathroom) after a long day on the Lover's Leap State Park trails. The room and bathroom were extremely clean and the bed very comfortable. Liz, the innkeeper, served up a delicious breakfast of pear and blueberry breakfast cake and a spinach and feta omelet. Bottled water is available in a small fridge under a counter with a Keurig coffee maker in the dining room, and both are always available to guests. Liz was terrific with communication before our visit and during. The location is ideal. We were just a couple of blocks from Main Street and it was very walkable to La Piccolina for dinner and Theo's Downtown Diner for lunch. I highly recommend the Homestead Inn as a terrific base to explore Litchfield County.
