    Great for a family
We stayed in the loft room it was more like an apartment very spacious and well maintained. The area is gated so you need a key to even park your car on the premises. I would definitely stay again. I highly recommend this place.

Hotel is OK. But fix check in process ASAP
Check in process was absolutely painful. The specific room that we reserved through Expedia with 2 double beds was not available, even though that is what we booked and paid for. Had to take a room with a king bed. Room is clean and has a nice kitchenette.

    Easy location
This hotel is convenient to I-95 yet quiet and secluded from the noise. Room was clean and staff very friendly. They offer a light dinner some nights and breakfast daily. Rooms are like mini apartments, we enjoyed the space. If you don’t want to be in the heart of New Haven (all that city congestion) then consider the village suites!

This place is not as clean and modern as the photos suggest. The suite we had was tucked up at the back of block 3. It was a ground floor and was dark. There was no sofa in our room - we missed that. The room was big, with a full kitchen - although dated! Fridge was large though. We used the dishwasher and it leaked not badly but enough ti warrant cleaning up. The location is a little bit away from Downtown you will have to drive!

The photos are very misleading and do not represent the rooms. The Suites are very old. The furniture is scratched and old. The mirrored clothes closets do not open or close on the tracks. Nowhere to leave an open suitcase other then the bed. The Kitchens have old appliances from the 70's/80's other than the newer microwave. The photos show all stainless steel appliances, however, the refrigerator and stove are 30 years old. The bathrooms are very old and patched up. Towels are cheap and thin. Bathrooms have not been renovated in 30 years. This is a long term stay property and it appears they rent out the suites on a monthly stay, so regrettably much of the clientele appear to be subsidized housing. The Breakfast is a joke. One pan with potatoes on one side and hard boiled eggs on the other side, some bread, some cereal. Coffee cups are small with large lids that don't fit. No one seems to really care. This is definitely a 3rd rate operation and not a 3* or 4* property as they advertise. The New Haven Village Suites is in dire need of major renovations. If you are travelling for business, there are much, much better options in New Haven. Regrettably, I was fooled by the nice photos and the misleading reviews.

Stayed here for a wedding nearby. The staff was wonderful and Serenity was super helpful and always greeted us with a smile. We didn’t really need all the amenities that came with room but there was pretty much a full kitchen in the suite. It met ours needs.

The New Haven Village Suites is abysmal, sorely needing a renovation - I stayed here for 2 days for my daughters Yale graduation and regret it. We stayed on the ground floor at room 1114 - on opening the front door, the room smelled musty, they don’t air out this place. The carpet is filthy, you shoes stick at times in places, and what looks like blood stains in the center. The sofa has a stain on the cushion and creaks when sitting down. The tag is off to the left and does not line up with the sofa, not ergonomic. The front door has no weather stripping, so the outside air enters the living and bedroom areas along with bugs that can crawl through. The toilet has not been cleaned in months judging by the stains on the bowl. The shower wall is cracked. The tile has black mold which could be a health hazard. The popcorn ceiling may co gain asbestos and dates back to the 1960’s along with the building. The health department should check the building and test for spores and mold. The fireplace is unusable. The beds are also creaky. There are zero USB outlets in the room. Breakfast is a sad affair, dry cereal, bagels, bread, fruit, some hot meat affair (2 items), coffee tasted terrible. The full kitchen is the only highlight in otherwise a sham. The car park is free and requires your hotel key card to get -assed the barrier. Go to a best Western or another other cheaper place. Do yourself a favor, do not stay here.

Hotel rooms are NOT newly renovated as advertised. Furniture dirty and old. Hairdryer broken. Plumbing in bathroom not working well. Cannot get hot water from sink. Not enough towels. Only 1 dryer working in laundry and took my money. Ice machine in laundry leaking water on floor making very slippery. Cracks in ceilings unrepaired. No hangars. Dirty. Loud furnace. Kitchen had no knife to cut food. Broken blinds. We stayed in King suite. Fireplace out of order. Disappointed.

Suites are designed for long stay - with full kitchen, lounge area and plenty of storage. Well equipped and very comfortable. Breakfast included in room rate. It is quite a distance from the downtown area. I was only staying overnight so the location was not ideal for my purposes. Understand this would not be an issue for families on longer stays, particularly if travelling with own car.

Staff was far from hospitable. An extremely rude woman, housekeeping manager or something like that put a bad taste in my mouth. The outside of the property is very nice but I think it's time to update the interior. My suite didn't even have a microwave and the fridge and stove were most likely the same ones since it opened as the Marriott in the 80's

What a beautiful place! It was on the last night of our long vacation and the previous hotel was awful. This place was a breath of fresh air, Spacious, clean, quiet, with an extremely nice breakfast included. All members of the staff were kind and welcoming. We will definitely go there again.
