While the location of this recently updated hotel is very convenient thanks to its proximity to Yale, that proximity is a blessing and a curse because you will be hearing heavy traffic (especially buses and heavy vehicles) and sirens late into the night and early in the morning. Fortunately I had packed earplugs, but didn't also realize I would need to sleep with a pillow over my head thanks to the glow of the continuous "nightlight" feature of the LED mirrors in the bathroom (which shows through the frosted glass door) and the green flashing LED light on the fire alarm that was pointed towards the bed. The on-site dining seemed like a decent place to eat; however, they were out of salads and the chicken for their tacos, so a burger or wings were the only option for dinner. However, they were kind enough to provide an extensive list of area restaurants as an alternative. Although the room itself had a an updated and modern feel to it, the sofa in the room had some significant stains on it that definitely needed some sanitizing (see attached photos).

The Cambria Hotel could have not been a better spot to host friends and family for our wedding! They went above and beyond to make sure the weekend went off without a hitch! When you first walk in, guest are greeted by a beautiful open space with tons of seating, a fireplace, and the bar was beautiful and elegant. Being a new hotel the rooms were up to date, clean, and spaceious. There was attention to detail in every room.
The staff was absolutely wonderful, there excitement for our wedding weekend made the stay even better. They were willing to help with anything we needed, even making small signs through the lobby to inform our wedding guest about shuttle times. Manager Kristin Alma went above and beyond to helped us throughout the block booking process, hosting an after party at the bar, and a brunch the next morning. Kristin was always available to talk to with questions even months before the hotel had opened.
We could not thank the Cambria staff enough for everything they did for us. Our guest all raves about the hotel and how friendly the staff was. We would defiantly recommend

"Correct hotel, well located in New Haven. The big surprise is that they do not clean the rooms daily. When you go to the reception, they tell you that it has been advised. It turns out that you made a reservation on Booking and it wasn't warned anywhere. You get upset at the reception and they tell you that if you had requested it, they would have cleaned the room. In the end, if this is the new trend for hotels, it's better to go to an Airbnb which is cheaper. I completely advise against the Cambria Hotel in New Haven, due to misleading communication with prices that do not match the service offered

Was in the area while my daughter was at yale hospital and stayed here.. The hotel was very clean very accommodating... The rooms are nice The bed and sheets were very comfortable The shower was great and Bluetooth mirrors in the bathroom.....Front desk associate Aesha was so great very pleasant loves her job and it shows! Bartender was very nice as well friendly staff will definitely stay again...

On very short notice, I traveled from Washington, DC to visit a dear friend in the ICU at Yale University Hospital. I stayed one night at the newly opened Cambria Hotel. I was worried about my friend, but discovered I did not feel alone because of the thoughtfulness of the front desk staff. One young man carried my heavy backpack to my room on arrival. When I returned for dinner after my first hospital visit, he suggested I sit at the bar, as more friendly than the dining tables. He was on duty at the bar, so checked with the chef that I could have the three-egg breakfast omelet with mushrooms for dinner (excellent food!) and discussed which dessert to choose.
Next morning, as I checked out, I asked the young lady on duty if she could help me make a return train booking to Washington - I was struggling with my tiny mobile screen. No problem! When finished she handed me a printout of the ticket.
I asked then if she could call me a taxi to get to the hospital. "There's a free shuttle" she said. Let me call it for you."

I brought a large delegation of teenagers to an academic competition at Yale University. We were lucky enough to stay at Cambria Hotel for a week. I got to know the staff well.
Cambria is a bit further away from other hotels from the center of Yale campus, but Cambria makes up for it with nicer rooms and a better atmosphere. Once you cross the street, getting to Yale just requires a short and bucolic walk. The downstairs lobby is an inviting place, with a big-screen TV, bar, seating area and dining area.
Breakfast and other meals are available. Many thanks to the food and beverage team.
The rooms are great, very clean and comfortable. My thanks to Jay and Cynthia for that.
I'm especially grateful to Tyler, Ayesha and Anthony for their help with many issues that came up, and for being a big help along the way.
So my experience at the Cambria Hotel makes me inclined to stay there again. Thanks guys!

The good. The hotel seems pretty new. The price is reasonable. The rooms are reasonable. The fitness room is above average for this price range.
The bad. Someone did not plan well. The light in the bathroom does not turnoff and the door to the bathroom is translucent. The front desk offered to send an engineer to disconnect the light, but this seemed like a hassle. Also, the shower is not level, so the glass door to the shower rolls open when showering.

Great service and friendly staff. Comfy bed and wonderful shower. The smallest of details were appreciated. The make up towel and shower bar to shave your legs! . When we asked for additional service, housekeeping was great! The whole hotel smelled fresh and you could tell all take pride in their jobs.

Had a great stay for 2 nights. The service from check-in to departure was wonderful. They offered awesome hospitality; we felt very welcome. The staff could not have been more accommodating to our group of 40 and everyone on the trip raved.
The hotel is new! Clean and modern with rooms that are enormous and beds which are super comfortable. It's in a great location. A short, lovely walk to the Yale campus, lots of places nearby.
Stayed in several hotels in the area, this one is the best . It's a great value and kid friendly.
