My wife and I recently stayed at The Blake and it surpassed any expectations we had. We were impressed by the welcoming staff and the cleanliness of the hotel, I cannot think of one negative experience that we had. It also is in the perfect location in the city as you as close to so many great places. I Highly recommend staying at The Blake when you are staying in New Haven.

I came to eat at this restaurant with a large party. No waitress for 30 minutes to take drinks and appetizers order. Then We ordered drinks waited another 15 minutes. Waitress then told us our appetizers was not put in and said she would. 10 minutes later David comes to tell us that he would not put any orders in until all parties were ready to order. That in order to give us the best service we had to wait. I have never been to a restaurant where they would not feed someone when they was hungry. David was nasty and very unprofessional! Will never come back to this restaurant again! Guess what happened everyone started to order entrees and not appetizers! No bread while everybody else tables had bread! Now it is an hour later, a couple of people have had nothing to eat. Burgers were not done. Then when one burger came back it came as a half a burger. My steak was cold! This place is horrible! People came in after us and ate before us!

Our 3-day stay at the Blake was exceptional. The accommodations were hip and extraordinarily clean. We had a king suite and it was just gorgeous. The general manager Thomas Sullivan could not have been any more accommodating. Really and truly he left no stone unturned to ensure how having the most exceptional of times. Thank you very much, Thomas Sullivan. You made our annual getaway and my birthday celebration! You really did! Now Mauricio! I'm not sure of his title, but I believe he is the manager of the restaurant. Mauricio's attention to detail and hospitality and professionalism was second to none. Maurizio provided us with Stellar service that was above and beyond. We actually got to enjoy a wonderful coffee from Mexico that he had selected. He was always available for any request. Gracias por todo, Mauricio! Tu eres muy carino! Alejandro, the chef... He prepared and plated beautiful food! Between us, I think we had at least nine meals in the restaurant. Each dish was absolutely delicious. The presentation was beautiful. The quality in the freshest of the food was there. Alejandro, I thank you for the food accommodations. You really, really provided us with delicious food! Jonathan was a server. Jonathan was always checking, new the menu inside and out, warm and funny and just a pleasure. We were grateful for his knowledge about every item on the menu. He kept our drinks flowing in the pattern that we wanted most! LOL. And was always within earshot. Jonathan, thank you for the excellent service. I have no hesitation to enjoy stay at this very fine establishment. The accommodations are pristine. The food is excellent. The service is second to none. I've been in hospitality my entire life. I'm a restaurant owner from Maui Hawaii... I used to run businesses in New York City. They know what they're doing in this hotel. Enjoy!
